The sand which comes in 1/3 or 1/2 or whole. The bread is wide, soft and scrumptious. The service is quick and friendly. Cute decor with 8-10 tables. The quality of Bo Didds is slipping. This use to be favorite sandwich all the way back to my college days at SJU. I feel they are cutting back on ingredients and the subs aren't as tasty as they use to be. In this visit they had the sandwich ready to go moments after I ordered. Nice surprise. But they obviously didn't take care to how they prepared it. I opened it up and it was soaking in oil on the outside. I had to take napkins to soak up the oil that was around the sandwich. Inside was super dry (all the oil was on the outside) and no flavor. I also asked for no onions and, of course, they had onions on it. I took two bites and did something I've never done with a Bo Didds sub--I threw it out. I'll stop back. Hopefully this was a one off. Saw Bo Diddley's on a list of best sandwiches in the Minneapolis area so I had to check it out while I was in town. Located in a strip mall with a very large parking lot. Typical sandwich shop setup - order at one end of the counter and wait for it at the other end. We were there at lunchtime and service was quick. We got a half club and a half Italian to go. There was a good ratio of meat to toppings on the sandwich but I do feel like there was too much bread. It was very tasty, just seemed like too much of the sub was bread. Also they were heavy on the oil on the sandwiches so ask for light oil if that isn't your thing. The sandwich was fine, but nothing I have to eat again. Seems a little pricier than your chain sandwich shop, but about the same quality. I'd check out a different lunch spot before I stopped here again. read more

Very welcome addition to the neighborhood - we needed a quick place to stop that wasn't greasy. We went around 4:00pm on their opening day. The place was very clean, bread was just being delivered, and staff was all very friendly and helpful. About 10 sandwich options, which all come with the same standard toppings (provolone & swiss-American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, mild banana pepper, pickle, mayo, and homemade spiced oil) - but you can pick and choose if you want anything left off. I wish they had hot giardiniera or peppers of some sort! In addition to the sub staples, they also offer pitas (5 options), gyro, shawarma, soups, random snacks, and homemade desserts. Sandwiches are served either as a whole, a half, or a third sizes. I just got an italian "third", it was $5 and SO MUCH FOOD! I really enjoyed it. My first experience at Bo Diddleys sandwich shop was for a catering order that I was to deliver. The menu intrigued me enough to try it out for myself. I saw two sandwiches that I would like to try. The first was an Italian sandwich. That'll have to be next time. The one that I had was a Combo. At $19 for half a sandwich, bowl of soup, and a tea, I expected more. At that price point, the sub needs to be packed with meat. It was not. What it was packed with was lettuce and bread. I was disappointed. I had hoped that Minneapolis had another option for sandwiches. Alleycats and Como Nelson's are still my go to. I will go back to Bo Diddleys, but I may order it differently next time. First time to Bo Diddleys and I found the staff to be very friendly. My sister and I ordered a large Turkey sandwich and we split it. I was surprised at how large the sandwich was, very big! Bit into my half and the bread was what killed it for me, it was too much bread and the crust was just not that good. My sister came up with a great Bo Diddleys hack (see pictures). She peeled off the top crust of the bread and I did both top and bottom which made the sandwich absolutely delicious! It's always fun to see a part of central MN make it's way down to the metro. When we heard a BoDid's was open in EP, we were first shocked (haha) and then decided it was where we must go for dinner. When you walk in, it definitely is a different vibe than the locations in St. Joe and St. Cloud. Neither good nor bad, just different. We both ordered our "normal" choices (we have family in St. Joe so we are no strangers) and they were good. Just as good as the other locations. The only strange thing (besides the modern vibe) is the soda machine made the soda have a strange soapy taste to it. I tried three different types of soda and they all had the weird taste. This, and the odd, loud push to upsell to everyone from the owner made me give this a four star vs. five. Excited to see this place excel in the metro. Hopefully word spreads fast! read more

Brand new and clean, in a former location that housed a Subway. Friendly service and great food. I think one thing you'll immediately notice when taking a bag with a half sandwich (I had Italian which I like using to compare place) is that you feel the weight. They're not skimping. Many other sandwich places, a half sandwich is something you barely feel that you ate, but definitely not the case here. Solid amount of meat, but the bread holds up. It's soft but has flavor and doesn't fall apart to any oil or dressing like some places with softer breads. Just the right amount of mayo and dressing to add flavor but not overpower. I also had a gyro, and it was really good too. The tzatziki is more solid, not the overly runny stuff (aka cheaply water-diluted because the yogurt and dairy part is the expensive part) in many places that can make a sandwich soggy. While I don't live near there, I do go to Champions Hall on Friday nights for volleyball, and this is definitely a good option to grab beforehand, maybe eat a bit before and have some for after since there aren't many options open past 11pm even on a Friday. Also conveniently located next to Jerry's Foods if you wanted to grab something to eat while doing errands/groceries. read more

I've heard about this place from a few people so thought I'd try it. It's just "eh". The meat to bread and lettuce ration is off -- meaning less of these two and more meat would be better. The bread is wide, so the sandwich may look small when they show you the length, but it's really quite substantial. The bread thick and I had to remove the bottom piece because there is so much of it. The toppings they offer on each sandwich is awesome! At first I thought it was a little pricey for the size, but when the width of the sandwich is taken into account, it a very good deal! I also tried the baklava. It's good, but not spectacular. They tell you it's from a distributor and you can tell. I also had a cup of their chili -- that was delicious! All in all, it was good.
