So friggin' good! Neighborhood sandwich shop with perfect sandwiches. Embarrassed to say I can't remember the name of who helped us - but he was fantastic, too. We had a grilled veggie sandwich and a build-your-own veggie, both on baguettes. In the world of veggie sandwiches, few managed to get a bullseye quite like this. I had the Hot Club - Moroccan Grilled Chicken and it was SPECTACULAR! The sandwich was full of flavor in each bite. The bacon is a hearty thick cut that is perfectly crispy. The chicken thigh in the sandwich was so juicy and full of flavor. The bread is everything. It has a crispy exterior that helps hold everything together which also has a beautifully soft interior. It does have a slight spice that pairs well with all the other flavors in the sandwich. The chips and pickles that come with the meal are alone reason to come in and give this place a try! The sandwiches are pretty big. I came in really hungry and half the sandwich was plenty to get full. The service was very fast and all the staff present was extremely welcoming and helpful to us as we ordered. The ambiance is family, friends, or business. You can really come here for any occasion to get a fantastic premium sandwich. Parking was easy they have side street parking. This place is amazing, don't hesitate to give them a try! Stopped by for lunch one day and it did not disappoint. I ordered the grilled trout sandwich and the hot beef pastrami. The grilled trout sandwich looked a bit burnt but tasted great. Maybe a bit salty for my liking though, so I likely wouldn't get it again if I came here. The beef pastrami was my favorite, great smoky flavor with the right amount of lettuce and tomato to balance out the fatty meat. You can tell the potato chips were made fresh, they were so light and crispy, soooo yummy! I would recommend this as a great lunch place for others! read more

I really REALLY wanted to like this. Asked questions about the food, picked something really good, and it was absolutely awful. The house made garlic "aioli" was Miracle Whip and the hoagie was the same quality from a bagged hoagie roll at the grocery store. The pickles are SWEET? That's actually an evil choice. The only redeeming quality of this sandwich was the meat. It was soft and the main positive flavor out of this sandwich. YOM YOM YOM! Opening a few months ago, Carbon Kitchen is bringing the heat with these delicious pastrami sandwiches and much more! All of their ingredients are made in-house or locally sourced. Their pastrami is made in-house and takes 5 days! Brined for 4, rubbed for 1, then smoked on the grill. They get their bread from a local bread shop (Denny's) and all of their sauces and slaws are also made in-house. After talking with Kurt (who was super cool), he recommended I get the classic beef Reuben ($13.50). Thank god I listened to him because it was the best reuben I have ever had in my life! The pastrami was melt in your mouth & the sauerkraut slaw was tasty! It brought a delicious crunch and dimension to the sandwich. With the sandwich also came housemade fries which were also very good and flavored well. I will definitely be coming back to try other sandwiches! Adorable shop in Northeast, husband and I had an amazing lunch here last weekend. I ordered the French dip and my husband got the salmon sandwich. My French dip was absolutely perfect! Moist, savory, and definitely hit the spot. My husbands salmon sandwich though -- oh my god I've never had a tastier sandwich in my life. The salmon was grilled to absolute perfection, still flakey, so moist, and so delectable. We also learned they make their own soup broth and had just pulled out a rack of freshly broiled soup bones so we HAD to try their French onion soup. It was a bit on the sweeter side but still tasty. Highly recommend, has a modern rustic vibe but minimal seating. Sandwiches come out super fast and the staff are all very patient and kind. This place was great! The incredible smell of the pit roasted meats when you walk in is by itself enough for 5 stars. The staff was super friendly and welcoming and went above and beyond to take care of us. Anything on the menu you can get on a hoagie or as a grain bowl, salad, or sandwich. Rotating cooler of local beers and everything else is local too, what else could you ask for?! Plus, it's women owned, I'd give it more stars if I could! Side patio has several nice picnic tables and is very dog friendly, they even brought us out a water bowl for our dogs! We will absolutely be back! read more

Super cute interior, with tables and wimdow seats for eating - but also available for take-out (which is what we did). We got the chicken club and the pit beef - both came with chips! The pit beef was SO GOOD - The bun was tough enough to handle it but still tender and chewy! The chicken club was very good as well - tangy spicey - bacon was cooked nice and crispy and the perfect amount of kick to it and the ciabatta was wonderful. Carbon kitchen was so delicious and lots of options! I tried the pit beef Philly cheesesteak and it was sooo delicious. The meat was perfectly smokey and tender, the cheese wiz was melty and delicious , and the peppers added a great extra level of flavor. I got one with extra meat and it was pretty big, got to save half for another meal. The sandwich came with homemade chips and a side of pickles that had a little kick to them and were so tasty. I also tried the strawberry lemonade, which was a great blend of tart and sweet. We got takeout on a decently busy night and they gave us some free chocolate chip cookies for the wait! It was awesome to see they had plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options as well. They even had some extra goodies like cup cakes for your dog to take home as well. Dishonest staffing and lack of attention. Ordered their beet sandwich for delivery and was given the roast beef. I called to ask if I could come in to get my correct order but they said they were out of beets (why accept the order if you don't have the ingredients to make the food). Asked for a refund instead due to it being a a $20 sandwich (which also seems extremely overpriced). Staff on the phone said they were refunding me but never actually did it. Understandable to make a mistake but to not to lie about how you're going to fix it. I could've gotten a refund from the delivery service but didn't choose that route since I was promised a refund over the phone. read more

I forget which service they use, but it's the one where when you type in your number it knows all your info! #convenient The space is a smallish and super clean shop with a bunch of little tables and counter where you order if you didn't do so ahead of time. Stylish and crisp decorating. I remember there was a good amount of wood. I've had the same thing three times because its really fantastic. The BEET REUBEN. Get the meat if you want, but you don't really need to - the beets on this bad boi are nice and smokey and warm and soothing. I say bad boi because you can get 1/4lb of beet or 1/2lb of beet. Get the 1/2 lb and engorge yourself! or share with a friend! It comes with handmade chips - yes you heard that right. HAND. MADE. CHIPS. with some kind of olde bay type seasoning. Ok the food was good as much as we were able to experience it. The young woman behind the counter was aloof and seemed disinterested from the start. In retrospect my wife and I thought perhaps she was high. After paying $80 for three sandwiches two beers and a root beer the order came out one person at a time. We could live with that. However, she delivered the wrong thing to my disabled son that ordered gluten-free bread. We'd never eaten there before so we had no idea that he received the wrong thing. After he had finished two-thirds of a gluten baguette the table that received his sandwich realized they had the wrong thing and asked the woman about it. We then realized how much trouble we were in for. Also, my son with autism came to realize he had gluten and became very upset. Because he knew how sick he was going to be he devolved into a full-blown autistic meltdown. For the sake of the other people in the restaurant be got him out the door and then went to deal with the situation. The response from the young woman was "what do you want me to do about it" Not, Oh my goodness I hope he's alright. We spent the next hours with a 23 year old, 300 pound, autistic man crying and doubled over. I suppose I should appreciate that she refunded the cost of his $19 sandwich. I understand that it's difficult to hire and keep decent help. I also get that whoever that girl was she would have rather been doing something else at that time. However, her carelessness and inattention had serious consequences. I actually feel bad for her employer that lost the revenue from that meal in an industry that works on slim margins. read more

I'm vegetarian and was looking for catering that could give us 5 days of varied lunches, including variety for vegetarians and vegans. I popped in to try out their menu: the beet sandwiches are amazing, as is the veggie sandwich - DEFINITELY not the tired old grilled veggie sandwich from the 90s that is still ubiquitous in Minneapolis/St Paul! Carbon co-catered with Gastrotruck, and it was AMAZING. The only caveat: one vegan found the beet pastrami taste a little unnerving because the spices were so spot on for the original meat product. Carbon was able to provide a variety of sandwiches and wraps, and even made something brand new for us that you might see on the menu soon. I hate to give a terrible review but it's deserved. I came into the restaurant for lunch at about 2:00. I was the only one there. The person at the register was on a computer and kind of acknowledged my existence when I walked up. Eventually she said hello and explained the menu. I placed an order for a basic sandwich which came to $21.00. Then I waited, and waited. I thought there was going to be someone in back who was going to make the sandwich, but I discovered that eventually the person who took the order was going to make it - after she quit working on the computer and after she went to the back room. I just sat there and kept waiting. Honestly, I nearly left. Eventually she reappeared and I watched her make the sandwich - ciabatta, slap on the mustard and a slice of cheese, plop on the meat and throw three tiny slices of pickles in the to go box with a little bag of chips. 15 or more minutes later it was done. It tasted OK, but certainly wasn't a $21.00 sandwich. I won't be back. Too many better choices in the neighborhood with much better service. Sorry. Thumbs down. read more
