After one dinner from Marty's it has become my favorite burger place in Jersey. I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger with a side of parmesan and truffle fries. My wife ordered a cheeseburger with the works and a side of regular fries and we both really enjoyed our food. The beef patties were really tasty and cooked perfectly, the sesame seed buns were excellent and both burgers had generous portions of toppings. We honestly did not expect this quality of burger from what looks like a chain because the quality of the burgers is what I'd expect from a really good restaurant. Seriously, the onions and mushrooms on my burger were perfectly sautéed and you could taste that these were quality ingredients. The generous amount of fries were also really good and perfectly made and they gave so much that we could have split them rather than order two. I rarely write reviews but I had to for Marty's. I ordered on a whim from Uber eats and arrived within 30 minutes still hot and crispy. The chicken sandwich was delicious! There's some extra breading around the edges which easily breaks off if that's not your thing, but the remainder around the chicken itself has a thinner coating and perfectly crisp. You can definitely tell the fries are hand cut and fried in peanut oil. Super tasty, without that oily flavor. And miraculously, were still nice and crunchy by time they arrived at my door! A superior lunch was had here. We each had the vegan Impossible burger and salt and vinegar fries. The burgers were outstanding: perfectly seasoned, stacked with still chilled crisp lettuce, tomato...its all a blur because I scarfed it down so fast. But damn...its amazing what seasoning can do on something so common, but that little extra step and attention moved it into the flavor stratosphere. The fries, also, were equally fantastic. Here's another detail. Instead of using liquid vinegar, these hand cut beauties were dusted with a vinegar dust which kept the fries hot, crispy on the outside...hot and creamy earthiness inside. No ketchup needed! Service was good, with a guy coming to our table to see if everything was OK. Again, something thats not done a lot anymore, and was the icing on our "cake". Honestly this is the best burger place I've been to in Bergen County. It reminds me of In N Out which we do not have on the East coast. It tastes amazing. When you decide to get a fried chicken sandwich, I think you go big. Find the tastiest fried chicken sandwich you can find, calories be damned. Marty's is hands down the best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had, even beating out Fuku in New York. The chicken was perfectly breaded, beautifully flavored, and fried just right. There's incredible attention to detail- the amount of pickles used, the bread is cut just deep enough to hold the chicken but not leak, and wrapped in a paper that doesn't bleed grease. It's like when you're making food for friends and family and you're really trying to impress; that's what each of the sandwiches feel like. I recommend the spicy pickled peppers if you're up for a bit of heat. The old bay fries were excellent as well. It's what I think the 5 Guys cajun fries wish they could be. Give this place a shot.
