First of all there is little to no Korean restaurants in this area, so to have one is GREAT! But the place is a little bit on the pricey side. So if your looking for some cheap Korean place, this is not for you. We walked in for dinner around 5:30pm on a Sunday and it wasn't yet packed. We ordered the galbi and bulgogi meats for grilling. We also ordered galbi tang, seafood pancake, mandu, and the dolsot bibimbap. The galbi was really good. It was very flavorful and had nice bite to it. The bulgogi was good too, but a bit on the sweet side for my taste. Their banchan had a great assortment and all tasted pretty delish. The waitress was super friendly and awesome. She would ask us if we wanted refills on our sides, which is really nice of her. The dolsot bibimbap, which my bf ordered, was pretty good too. It had the assorted veggies and pieces of bulgogi all over some soft fluffy rice and a perfect fried egg. The pancake wasn't too flavorful as I have had better at other places and the mandu was alright too. Not something I would order again. So....I would've given this place 3.5 stars because we were supposed to receive rice with our BBQ that we ordered, but didn't get it until I asked for it. AND I never received my galbi tang soup. :( I really wanted to try their galbi tang soup. But, since our waitress was very helpful and gave us great service that's what the 4 stars were for. Overall, I would return to this place and try their other dishes and maybe get to try the galbi tang next time. I had dinner there with my family. We sat at one of the four tables with a grill, where the server grilled various meats and vegetables available for order from the menu. It's was quite nice. I realize there's better Korean BBQ in LA, but Maru in La Quinta was a pleasant surprise. The food is mediocre. We ordered chicken and kalbi. Your supposed to get unlimited sides such as kimchi, spicy cucumber, & potatoe salad but the waitress gives you attitude and the evil eye for ordering more. They are super chinsy with the food. For example, we ordered more of the spicy cucumber. She brought us the dish back with 4 of them in there. 4!!! Come on. There was 5 of us. Ridiculous. This is wonderful place to eat out here in palm desert area. Mandu is made of vegetable and beef not pork, taste delicious and healthy. La kalbi is very special and delicious I recommend highly. Don't forget trying bibim cold noodles, nangmyun, it's one of a kind. read more

This is an American Korean restaurant. Food was good, just not spicy enough. Will go back and ask them to make the food "Korean" style . Meat dishes where a little small compared to most. Hispanic staff where very helpful and accommodating. The Korean "mama-san" never greeted us or checked in with us once. read more

The restaurant looks very nice. The menu is a bit lacking but has the basics. Three of us ordered kalbi, bulgogi, and dak bulgogi. After ordering we were served four dishes. The amount was small. Especially for three of us. The bulgogi came out first and I was immediately disappointed. The amount was similar to what would be leftovers on the plate at a reputable Korean restaurant. Taste and cut were good though. Dak bulgogi came next. Extremely small portions and very bland. Kalbi came last and was small as well. It was also undercooked at the bone. We finished and paid the bill which was about $50.00. We went somewhere else on the way home since we were still hungry. This place just mad me angry. $50 wasted and still hungry. Finally made it out to Maru Korean BBQ in La Quinta. My friend who just came back from Korea after working there 3 years was craving naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles in beef and pickle broth). It was great! Icy cold broth with a nice sweet tang. He customized his noodles with some Korean hot mustard, vinegar, and gochujang and had a yummy and refreshing dish! I had one of my favs, yukgaejang (spicy beef soup with egg, green onion, potato starch noodles and fern bracken) everything was really good and authentic tasting! A couple of tables were grilling their own meat and the portions seemed reasonable for the price. They do offer some pricey cuts of beef. I'll have to come back and see what that experience is like. Kimchi jeon was just ok, too much batter and not crispy enough IMO. Ban chan (side dishes) were good and refilled. Saw the cook pop out (lil old korean lady and owner, another Korean woman managing the register) all good signs in my book! I'm surprised this place isn't busier! Great service and the food was good. It's not LA KBBQ good, but it's good. The waitress was nice and checked on us often. It's a little pricey but for the location, I guess it's not too bad. Portions were decent and the ban chan (sides) were good. Stopped in while on our way back to LA from Arizona. We were pleasantly surprised to find legitimate Korean food out here. All the dishes we ordered were fresh and perfectly done. The marinated so bulgogi is delicious. They give you plenty of side dishes and you can ask for seconds after you finish a side dish. Service is very attentive. Went to lunch here wih a friend a couple of weeks back. I had the daeji bulgogi & the squid appetizer. The squid was bland, even with the dip. The meal was quite good. The salad, soup & dumpling rounded out the bulgogi. My friend had told me about the place since Palm Korea, a fave for us both, had closed. The food at this place felt more like I was at someone's house than a restaurant. Although all the dishes were simple and straightforward, you felt the love and care that went to each dish. We had the kimchi jjigae cooked at your table, pork spare ribs, and soybean sprout rice. Soybean sprout rice (aka kongnamul bap) was the bomb! So good, and my favorite dish of the night. The spare ribs were good too, but to be honest, I still prefer Hamjipark's. Kimchi jjigae tasted very good, and it was even better when we took the leftovers home and made it the next day. Service here is top notch. The younger gentleman that worked the tables was super nice, attentive, and engaging with all the customers. In fact, he was the one that gave us extra broth in our to-go bowl when we packed up the leftover kimchi jjigae. Really nice touch, and we appreciated the extra mile. read more

Amazing value. When I went I had no clue how big the portions would be and ordered way too much food. I could have been out of there for $15. But glad I tried several plates. A wonderful, small Korean family restaurant located in the middle of Palm Desert. This place is very clean, food is real tasty and traditional, service is excellent, easy parking and conveniently located if you're living or visiting the Palm Springs/Desert area. Their Naengmyun (cold noodle soup) is one of the best Naengmyun's we had in a while. Their Korean bbq's are a bit pricey, but traditionally prepared and cooked on the table. We're quite surprised with the quality of their Korean dishes despite being a tiny local Korean restaurant. We'll definitely visit here again on our next trip to Palm Springs/ Palm Desert area. read more

Really amazing food! Great service! My only complaint was that there was an open table that had a grill and she said it was reserved. We were there for an hour and another party did not take that table. Half the fun is in cooking the food yourself at a table.
