Overall not a bad experience. Just some nuances that need to be worked on. Service was quite slow for a place that wasn't that busy. We got our drinks and took a while to put the order in. Once we got food there was no check ins to see if everything was ok if if more drinks were needed. We had to flag down a person that was not our server. While the presentations of our dishes were fun the flavor was just lacking in the fish. The music was a bit loud and playing 80's pop like Madonna and Michael Jackson. Little odd for a sushi restaurant. Side note there tempura rolls we saw that were coming out looked fun. The rolls were quite big for each of their cuts, makes it hard for a one piece bite. I'd say if you like big rolls for filling purposes give them a go. May try again if we are back in La Quinta for the previous reviews on the place. Maybe we're were of a night (Friday night BTW).

Staff were friendly and very quick and kept checking on us. I got 2 rolls while my friend got a stir fry dish. I gotta say the rolls were really big and I was able to take some Togo!

Great sushi spot! The portions are very generous and the fish quality is good. Service and ambiance was good!

Interior was average for a strip mall but the sushi was the star. Service was okay. Timing of food was questionable. We ordered appetizers, rolls and an entree. Usually they should bring the appetizers, rolls and then entree... they brought them out in whatever order. One appetizer arrived followed by an entree, 2 rolls and then the soup and salad that was included with the entree. The edamame arrived almost to the end of the meal and I honestly should have sent it back bc who eats that at the end of a meal? Nothing against the chefs but it shows inexperienced wait staff. The food though was amazing! The rolls are HUGE! We ordered way too much so we took almost 2 rolls home! The tuna tower was amazing but I wish it came with some wonton strips or something to add crunch/texture. They use a green and red crispy crunch on their rolls which was sooo good! Overall the amazing food makes up for the average service.

Big Rolls, Bright Lights, Mixed Bites Misaki Sushi & Grill came highly recommended by our waiter at another restaurant, and we were greeted warmly and seated right away. Mario was friendly and helpful, especially guiding my husband through the menu of unique sushi rolls. Since I'm not a sushi or seafood eater, I ordered the beef udon. It was fine, but nothing memorable, and I really wished it had vegetables. We also ordered the spicy edamame -- which was excellent -- but it arrived after our entrees, so we didn't enjoy it as much as we would have otherwise. Pro tip: order appetizers separately and wait until they arrive before placing your main order. My husband tried the Bam Bam and Mamacita rolls. The presentation was fun and creative with lighted plates and tiered displays, but the rolls were so large and rice-heavy that the quality suffered a bit and they were difficult to eat. We ended up taking leftovers, which wasn't ideal since we were staying at a resort. Service started strong with Mario but midway through our meal he transitioned to other tables without notice, and two other servers took over -- both friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was lively and buzzing without being too loud, clearly a popular local spot. Overall, a good experience, but not one that would make this our go-to sushi place when we're back in Palm Springs.

Misaki Sushi & Grill has a nice atmosphere overall, though the walls are pretty bare -- there isn't much décor to make the dining experience feel warm or inviting. The place was busy for a Friday night, and you could definitely tell the staff was hustling. Service was good, but they seemed focused on turning tables quickly. The portions, especially for sushi, were huge -- almost too much to finish. It actually made me wonder a bit about the quality of the fish, just given how oversized everything was. Still, the meal itself was nice, and it's a good spot if you're looking for big portions and a fast-paced dining experience.

Very nice cool and calming atmosphere during a hot desert day. The sushi is very good and the portions are large. A good value for the money.

The Sushi is huge! Most of the rolls are cut into 8 pieces and each piece is about 2 bites. The Mamacita roll had a good mixture of spicy, Smokey, and savory flavors. The tempura Red Dragon roll was also a little spicy and the shrimp was fried nicely. The Aloha roll had fresh flavors with a little bit of spice. We ordered 3 rolls for 2 people and took about a whole roll home in leftovers. They get pretty busy for dinner and the staff are running all around so be patient. They also have limited hours they are open 4:30-9pm.

I don't know why we bother going to any other sushi places. They simply can't compare for the quality value and service. Portions were huge and delicious. Our server uni was a sweetheart, always checking in making sure we were happy. Only place bill go moving further

Absolutely amazing! First time here and very impressed. The size of the rolls knocked me off my chair. Very fresh fish/ingredients & the presentation is exceptional. Would definitely come back and recommend to others who are in the area.

Never would've guessed that La Quinta would be home to one of my favorite sushi spots, but here we are! The vibe is welcoming, the staff is friendly, and the food is fantastic. They serve are some of the biggest sushi rolls I've ever had. And the quality is just as impressive. I'm always excited to stop by when I'm in town. Highly recommend the eel special!

My Sushi Combo Dinner = Nigiri Sushi & Rainbow Roll -- they stoked me with 2 extra pieces of sushi

*Humpty Dumpty Day at Misaki* My buddy offered to take me out for sushi -- who am I to say NO to that generous offer? We discussed going to Sushi ON but instead, agreed to try Misaki for an early din din on a 115 degrees Wednesday. The moment we walked in, I noticed right away that the room temp was perfecto, as we were warmly greeted by the host, waitstaff, and sushi chefs. As I was looking around, getting a feel & vibe for the darkly lit room, we were nicely told "sit wherever you'd like." I like it when this happens. We chose a nice comfy & cozy booth with a view of the flatscreen tv showing some MLB. Our sensational waitress, Alexa, wasted no time to greet us, hand-out menus, and asked for our drink order. Today we were simply two h2o bros...and Alexa made sure later on to ask us if we need refills. Major points when you don't need to ask. My bud's order consisted of: Miso Soup = he enjoyed it but thought it was a bit bland. I agree. Garlic Edamame = unfortunately, it didn't arrive until after we were served all of our food which was a letdown, because Edamame should be served before the other courses, as an appetizer. To avoid being confrontational, we let it go. Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna = huge beautiful presentation (see pic) and my bud was pleasantly surprised and thrilled with it. A House Special Sushi Roll = it was so huge and nicely displayed, we actually thought it was 2 separate rolls opposed to one. The roll was so large & filling, my bud took home a few pieces for his niece. My bud enjoyed it so much he even shared his excitement with Alexa. I usually like to order bento boxes when trying new places, so I can sample a little bit of everything. But I was not in the mood for warm or hot food so it was strictly sushi for Scotto San. I went with the Sushi Combo Dinner = 6 pieces of Nigiri Sushi (2x Tuna. Salmon, Albacore) and a choice of one of four specialty rolls. I went with the Rainbow Roll because I prefer traditional rolls and the other 3 had lots of ingredients and sauces I wasn't in the mood for. My dinner included miso soup and salad that was served earlier. The carrot ginger dressing is outstanding. I wasn't in the mood for miso soup but it was decent and did the deed. To my surprise, the sushi chef stoked me with 8 pieces of sushi instead of 6. Lucky me. Maybe it had something to do with me saying hello to him and engaging in a brief convo prior to being seated. In any event, it was a very kind gesture and appreciated the sentiment. What really stood out the most, was all the effort put into platting & arranging the sushi combo platter. Very impressive. All pieces of my nigiri sushi were very thick and long. And not overdone with sushi rice. The fish was cold & fresh. But I was not happy with the sushi rice. More about that below. The Rainbow Roll was gigantic. But for me it was actually too big with too much rice. It's nice to see such large rolls at times. But I prefer not to fill up on pounds of sushi rice. And the roll pieces were so big it was a chore eating it how I enjoy eating my sushi rolls. Speaking of the sushi rice, IMO it was not seasoned properly with the right amount of rice wine vinegar and needed more. The sushi rice was cooked & cooled down well enough. But the sushi rice was a bit sour and lacked the tangy acidity sweetness good sushi rice needs. Due to this, all the sushi tasted the same. Sour. The fish seemed fresh so I made it work. But what didn't work was their soy sauce. I asked for low sodium. That's not what I got. It was too dark & thick to be low sodium soy sauce and was salty. Not sure it was Japanese soy sauce. It was also rancid, which means it's old. Reminded me of the times you have some old soy sauce packets at home that been sitting in a drawer for years. Unfortunately, the ginger wasn't too good either. Due to the sushi rice and soy sauce, I desperately needed some decent ginger more than ever to clean & cleanse my pallet. Bummer. Good sushi rice and soy sauce is extremely crucial to complement each other in perfect tastebud harmony. If not, I'd order straight sashimi or sashimi dishes accompanied with sauces. The wasabi was pretty good but didn't like needing to use more than usual to mask the sour sushi rice and rancid soy sauce. We were enjoying ourselves and meal together so we let it all go. And Alexa was sweet & attentive, we chose not to change our vibe and simply go with the flow. I'd love to rate Misaki a 5. But the meal itself was more like a 3.5. The price point is extremely reasonable for the large portions and Fantastico presentation. The service deserves a solid HIGH FIVE. But when all was said & done...everything rounds out to a generous 4. Will I return? Of course. Will give them another try with wifey. Too bad they're not open for lunch, because my mom & I would dine here in a heartbeat. But next time? I'll probably bring my own soy sauce. Arigato Sayonara Scotto San

If you're going to Nobu, Nobu Indian Wells is the location that really stands out…read more I've been to multiple Nobu locations, including Coronado, and this one just feels more dialed in. The atmosphere is clean, focused, and elevated without trying too hard. From the moment you walk in, everything flows the way it should. The food is exactly what you expect from Nobu. High quality, fresh, and consistent. The fish is clean, the flavors are balanced, and everything is presented the right way. You can tell there's attention to detail across the board. What makes this location better for me is the overall experience. It feels more complete. Service, timing, energy in the room, it all comes together better than other locations I've been to. Coronado has the ocean and the historic setting, which is great, but Indian Wells just executes at a higher level. If I had to rate it, this is a 5 out of 5 for me, and the one I'd choose to go back to first. If you're in the area, don't overthink it. This is the Nobu to go to.

Bit pricy but glad we got to try the experience at Indian wells…read more My hubby and I walked in and only waited 30 minutes. We were seated outside the restaurant was super packed. We got the new sashimi style, miso cod, spinach salad, couple of sushi and sake. Service is fast and food came out within 15 minutes. New style sashimi (7/10)-fresh but nothing special don't think it's worth $30 Spinach salad (9/10)-super refreshing best thing we had on the menu, the dressing is very flavorful. Miso cod (5/10)-pretty disappointed being the top item ordered. Bland and overall nothing special Sushi (7/10)-not the best we have had but portion was good fish to rice, liked the yellowtail the best. I think it's worth going once but probably not multiple times. Overall a good place to try for a first timer at Indian wells.
