I planned a graduation party for my granddaughter with JR's help. He was very helpful, considering this was just as we were coming out of quarantine, answered all my questions and had good suggestions. Gabriel was our waiter the day of the party and did a great job keeping everyone's glass full and taking all orders. The food was delicious, try the lobster ravioli; everyone enjoyed their meal. They made a chocolate mouse cake for dessert that was delicious. The guests made comments that they would like to come back again. Wonderful atmosphere. Terrible service. There was not a sufficient number of staff to wait tables. The hostess stand was abandoned, as the hostess was trying to expo and help the wait staff. And the kitchen must have been behind because the wait time for food was not acceptable. All of this might be understandable if it were peak hours, but this was at 1:00pm on a Saturday. The middle of a lunch shift. Food was good but not great, and the "express" lunch was anything but. Great all around fresh exceptional food and nice atmosphere! Just as their sister restaurant Alicia's, fresh quality ingredients are the standard for all dishes. We've eaten here a few times when in town and have always been pleased with the decisions chosen and quality of food. Dining room or eating at the bar, either will meet your expectations and prove to be an enjoyable experience. Bar is great for watching sports (watched the Astros win it all!). Usually always get a Cesar to start and an order of calamari. Neither choice ever let us down. Penne Pesto Pasta is one of my favorites and great with the grilled chicken or shrimp. The To GO server had great customer service but the rest of the team was awful which I realized came down from the attitude and service of the lunch manager on 8/15/18. Waited at To Go counter for 5 minutes and 7 different restaurant employees passed me (2 made eye contact) and never stopped to see if I need assistance. I went to the front of the restaurant and asked the man at the front if I could speak to the manager...he looked at me with disgusted and said I am the manager. I explained to him the issue and he stated hold on I'll check on it. After returning to the To Go area the associate came out and asked me how my day was I stated it was great until I came here...the manager became very apologetic and the manger looked at me and walked away to leave his associate there to handle an upset customer. Went to this place with my family, I ordered the marvino filet, I ordered it medium, it came out rare. The rest of the food was mediocre. When I told the manager I didn't want the steak he became visibly upset but managed to maintain his composure. The service was very slow, they took the order of someone who came after we had already been there for 25 minutes waiting at the table. With small kids you know you usually only have so much time b fire they become restless. The waiter never serviced us we had to rely on the bus boy to help us out with drinks and a spill that had happened. It was later in the evening so the wait staff was probably tired so maybe they get a pass on the lack of service but the food is very mediocre. That's the way I see it. read more

Food quality was better than Olive Garden but worst than Carrabbas! That isn't good for a non-chain restaurant. Veal is only to be breaded lightly EVER, it isn't chicken! I called to speak to a manager before writing this but he did disputed little if any of my complaints so I feel compelled to write this as a warning. If you plan to eat here for a special occasion make sure that you are aware of the "special menu" and pricing before being seated. My daughter and her new boyfriend were celebrating their first Valentine's Day together and decided to have their meal here. They went at 5 to avoid the terrible lines and were seated almost immediately. The menu given to them was a "special menu" with limited selections for a three course meal at $49.99-59.99 each, pre tax & tip. Being 17 yrs old, neither felt comfortable telling the other that they should get up and leave and so they ended up spending their very hard earned money on meals that were not what they had wanted, could afford and even fully partake of. Most of my daughter's meal eventually was thrown away because she did not care for it. I know it could have been avoided had they simply left but I feel the management or hostess should have explained the "special menu & price" before seating them. This would have made a polite exit easier than getting up from the table. The manager said that the 7 & 9 pm seatings were given the menu while in line but there was no line at 5. They were not able to partake of the 2 glasses of wine and that should have been obvious to the hostess and waitress. No pun intended but this has given us very sour grapes and I do not believe we will be dining at Marvino's again. read more

My wife and I used to love this place, they have recently changed their menu and took out some of favorite plates. Menu is very short now.They got rid of their mussels appetizer and now they have an artichoke and spinach dip??? Are you serious? If I wanted that, I would go to a Chili's or Cheddars! I ordered the chicken piccata, the sauce was way to acidic and it came with a side of chopped cauliflower, carrots and broccoli, school cafeteria style. From the outside it looks nice and elegant, you're greeted the moment you walk in and they accommodate you with quick sitting. Makes you think, "Man this is Awesome!" You order your drinks and appetizers and converse with your love ones. Then suddenly you're wondering, DAMN WHY AM I SO HANGRY? Because the server forgets to come take your order after 30 minutes. Then another server comes and serves you the order you didn't get to order. You then get HANGRIER because you have to wait another hour for the food to come out after the second complaint to the manager. If you're not HANGRY when you arrive, you will leave HANGRIER! We came in for Valentine's Day and had the special menu. It took 20 minutes from the time we sat down to be greeted. Our first server was very nice and knowledgeable. After we placed our drink order we were greeted by another waitress, Daphne. This is when the problems started. She had no idea about the options about the limited menu, every question we asked she had to run off and ask somebody. You would think which such limited options someone would know whether or not it came with 2 desserts. But she would leave and come back and tell us things that had nothing to do with our original question. So it took about 15 minutes just to order our food. We upgraded to the steak option for two, ordered it medium, at $95 a person. After about an hour waiting the food arrived. Which I will say was not a huge deal because they were busy for Valentine's Day which we understood. Our steaks came out rare. I asked Daphne if the steak was medium. She said it was, in a rude manner. When it was clearly rare. The food was decent but way over priced for the quality and not being cooked to the correct temperature. So all I did was ask if the steak was cooked medium and didn't want to wait another hour so I said it's fine we'll eat it. So after that, Daphne refused to come back to our table. Never asked if we were okay. If we needed any more drinks. Nothing. She sent other servers to bring us our dessert. I guess she was too scared because I asked if the steak was cooked correctly? Then when it was time for our check she sent another server to bring us our check. A 20% gratuity was added. Which is fine, however frustrating that our server was too scared to bring us the check. Daphne never told us thank you or said good bye to us. You would think a $330 check for two people would at least warrant a thank you. Like I said food was decent but service was horrible. Tried you guys again today. We asked if there was a lunch menu. The first waiter said "oh they didn't give you the lunch menus?". Then the host said normally they don't do lunch but both said they would give it to us to order. We sat back down and ordered our drinks and received them. The second waiter came back and snidely said we couldn't order from them. We were ordering $12.99 meals plus the $4.50 salads and that was the lunch pricing. I'll start by saying that this was my first time to Marvinos. The ambiance was beautiful, dim lit, and really made me feel like I was in an authentic Italian resturant. I had enough time to look at the beautiful room while standing waiting for the hostess to acknowledge my existence.... she helped three people in line that were behind me. Not sure how that happened? Last time I checked I was still visible...After she realized I was standing right in front of her she decided to had over the reins to a girl that had walked up.. That was at 8:20 pm. I was told that we would only wait 20 to 30 minutes. We were seated at 9:05 pm. We had enough time to look at the menu on our phone while we waited to be seated, and knew exactly what we wanted, but we were told that we needed to wait because our waiter needed to go tend to drinks at another table even though in the time he explained that he had another table, he could have just taken our order.. so finally after about 10 minutes he comes up to us and take our order. I had water, and my fiance had a sweet tea. The sweet tea was to die for so I ended up getting one, some may hate it because of how overly sweet it is, but to each his own. Or her own. We ordered the duck spring rolls, chicken Fried steak (fiance is NOT an Italian food kind of guy) and chicken fettuccini alfredo. It took a long amount of time to get our salad and soup, immidietly followed by our spring roll (way to let us finish that'll round of our meal). STAY AWAY from the duck spring rolls!!! They brought it out, so my fiance took a bite and was repulsed to find it frozen in the center. We had them replace it with the Italian meatball, luke warm and tasted like it was covered Ragu. Ya know the stuff from the grocery store, the meat balls were better than the duck atleast... Then the entrees came out. It looked amazing. My fiance chicken Fried steak was slimy and the potatoes tasted old. My chicken fettuccini alfredo was fantastic for the most part... It was on the cold side and lacking a good amount of sauce but very flavourful. We got desert. Instead of listening to our instincts and leaving.. The chocolate tuxedo cake was dry and spongy as far as the cake part, but the chocolate ganache was tasty. We were seated at 9:05 pm, and didn't leave until 10:40 pm. Not because we sat and talked, but because the kitchen took that long, and judging by the temperature of the food, so did the waiters. We usually only spend an hour at a resturants in general. In and out. Not here... We will give them another shot... hopefully next time will be better! And marvinos, if you read this. Update you hostess!! Their customer service is terrible! read more

Went in for a date night with my boyfriend on New Years Eve. Were told there was a 15-20 minute wait. Not a big deal, especially since we knew it was a holiday. We were there waiting for about 25 minutes when a couple walks in and stands at the host station. The gentleman checking people in was on the phone when they walked in and the couple felt like because they had to wait 45 seconds for him to get off the phone they were owed something and started complaining. My boyfriend and I were in shock that the couple was so rude. 5 minutes later we saw the couple, who had been sitting at the bar, being brought to the front so that they may be escorted to their table. Apparently, they complained and were immediately seated. I then approached the host and asked why it was that they were being seated while we had been waiting for over 30 minutes. He argued with me and told me that they had been there before we got there, even though I explained that I had literally watched everything happen. He didn't believe me until another gentleman came up and agreed with what I was saying. All of the sudden the host saw where he was wrong. -_- Anyways, 4 tables magically appeared and we were sat. First timers tonight; we like the atmosphere! Nice bar area where we sat down for dinner, comfortable and not to loud. Had the Frito Misto and the Crab tower and both we very good. I favor the Misto, with the Chianti followed by the Margarita pizza. Nice job on everything. Eric the manager checked up on us a couple of times and talked about our trip to Italy. The pizza was way better than we had three weeks ago in Venice. Check them out. They are doing a great job on the service side and definitely will be back to explore the Antipasti menu more before we test the rest of the menu. Love the white shirts and black ties. Yesterday was our first time here. We went at a great time 5:45 and there wasn't a wait at all. The hostesses were very polite and greeted us immediately as we walked in the door and we were sat promptly. The waiter took our drink order as someone else brought us bread and herbs. The waiter seemed he wasn't all excited to be there, haha. I asked if he had the lasagna before and he said "it's pretty good." I replied, "is it pretty good or really good?" Then he said really good so I had that. The lasagna was awesome, my kids had the pizza and parents had fettuccini Alfredo and spaghetti w/ meatballs. Everything we are was great. So we've dined in a few times and always always enjoy... so this is about their catering service. I recently held my company party at my house and we were expecting 25ish people. I called about a week ahead and ordered the salmon, lasagna and spinach artichoke dip. Everything was PERFECT and the delivered right on time! People kept asking where the food was from and there was barely anything left so I think that's a good sign. With each entree you get bread, their yummy olive oil for dipping, salad and even the serving utensils. Needless to say, we will use them again in the future and will definitely recommend! In fact many waiters saw me and my significant other being seated but didn't want to knowledge our table. I have eaten at all 4 of these restaurants. This review is for Marvino's. I guess true service is no longer expected at any fine establishment. My sister and I went on Wednesday to Marvino's for dinner. Immediately someone came with bread, dipping sauce and water. We were told when seated that our server would be with us directly. About 5 or so minutes after receiving our water, etc., he showed up, gave his name and asked if we would like a drink. The drink arrived almost 10 minutes later we told him we were ready to order and asked about the steak special. Then we asked about the rest of the specials, this seemed to annoy him. We began to place our order, my sister ordered the small filet, medium or medium well, she said. No he said one instruction to the Chet, that was all he would give. We asked what the sides dishes were, he handed her the menu and indicated she could look them up. We along with several other tables nearby waited almost 30 minutes for our dinner, he did not deliver, never saw him again till we asked for the check. Dining out used to be a joy, something to look forward to. I was a server in a very high end restaurant and knew what I should expect from service. I left the smallest tip on a $400+ check than I have ever left before and the server did not deserve even that.
