Most of their guitar stock is focused on entry level models rather than high trim models. On the plus side they had a good selection of nice Orange amps and carried a line of affordable pedals, by outlaw effects, that I've never seen elsewhere. The two young store employees were nice and friendly. On the negative side, I was really turned off by the store owner and didnt want to do business with him as a result. He approached me while I was checking out a Jaguar guitar and I asked him a few questions about how the controls on the guitar worked (because they were really different) and what the B stock label meant and how that could affect resale down the road if I decided to sell it. His conversational tone and somewhat combative statements were really off putting. The guitar was a pretty good deal but I really didn't want to do business with a guy like him. Shopping for guitars should be a fun experience, but this was just an upsetting one. This visit made me appreciate Guitar Center a lot more because they treat customers (including kids) so well there and don't make you feel bad asking questions about guitars or taking your time checking out gear.

Ms. Jenny excels at teaching both very novice young children such as my 5 year old through the very advanced. My 13 year old has already won awards and honors in local, state, and even international competitions. Ms. Jenny covers music theory, dynamics, and more, giving my children very comprehensive instruction. She requires the children to master pieces completely so that they can play in a recital without the sheet music flawlessly or nearly flawlessly with ease. She does this by assigning the pieces early, and focusing on mastering each song one at a time then adding to their repertoire as the school year progresses. The music she chooses is very beautiful and she has them explore different genres such as blues, baroque, folk, and more. She is very patient and kind and she knows what children need to do to progress. For National piano guild she starts them early in the year mastering their scales and theory so that by May sitting for theory exams or the guild judge is not a last minute horrifying ordeal. As honor students, my children do weekly lessons, theory homework, participate in up to 6 recitals per year including a unique and special Concerto Competition (which most piano teachers do not offer), theory exams in March and National Piano Guild in May. My children also started composing songs once a year for a competition in September. This is an optional experience but all my children have been pleased with their own work and admit it has been a great learning experience. Ms. Jenny has taken excellent covid protocols and been very flexible with us, allowing both in person and internet lessons when necessary and right now, zoom recitals. Some of my kids will study music in college, some will not, but all will turn 18 and leave home as accomplished music readers/ pianists thanks to The Virtuoso Music School.

So.... what an adventure to drop in here way far away near the Walkersville area of Frederick. The rink itself looks like it could be from any era in the last 50 years, but really, what do you want from an ice skating rink? Parking is easy. Finding the location is easy. Going to the register and paying for your pass and rental (if you don't have your own skates) is easy. The cost is incredibly low - I feel like they were cheaper than when I was in high school back in the day in a land far far away from this place. Anyhow, getting your skates, also incredible easy. They have lockers for your stuff that cost you, wait for it, 2 quarters! So cute! They have a few vending machines, mostly ice cream, and a snack bar where you can get some cheap food and beverages. It is not expensive by any measure. They have teams and others who train and play here, but they have open skates. The open skates are usually on the weekends. And, again, wow, I could not believe how cheap. We had a great time skating, but since we're not 12 year old children, our bodies were a little less flexible and a lot more sensitive, so we didn't even last the whole 1.5 hour session. Ha ha! We still had a fabulous time, and will probably go back winter holidays 2024 for a new tradition. In other words - highly recommended for a cheap, short adventure!
