Good times at my first Yelp Elite event! Thanks to Elsa, America's Best Racing, and Yelp for…read moreputting together such a fun and locally unique offering. Also my first time at Pimlico despite having lived in the Baltimore area for many years, so I got to check that box also. The view from the skybox / suite was perfect. It was fun seeing all the dressed up patrons, too. Perfect weather, nice views, and the airy skybox made for a great Friday afternoon experience. I didn't arrive in time for the breakfast-y foods, but the lunch buffet was great! Crabcakes full of jumbo lump crab, the most tender beef cuts I've ever had from a buffet, flavorful chicken, and more. Later there was dessert including some tasty mini-cupcakes on par with the best I've had from cupcake shops in DC during the cupcake craze. I was impressed! Coffee was a little blah. That (and the lack of drinking water) were literally the only quibbles I could come up with despite being a hardened reviewer. :) The short lesson on how to bet on horses was interesting too. Friendly bartender and premium open-bar. The signature Black-eyed Susan was a little too sweet for me, but the Grey Goose was spot on. Pimlico outside staff were a little clueless (a half dozen of them didn't know where the entrance to the Clubhouse Turn Suites was, though it was literally 100 yards away at the end of the same structure where they were). No fault of Yelp or America's Best Racing, though. And it was great meeting fellow Yelpers for the first time! Nice, interesting folks. I'll look forward to next time!

I had trouble locating the specific entrance and…read morenone of the staff at Pimlico (even in Customer Service) could tell me how to get to where I was going, even though I specifically said the Clubhouse Turn entrance. They kept sending me to the regular Clubhouse entrance. I eventually got a map and was able to locate the correct entrance myself. Frustrating, but it turned out to be worth it. I was greeted by Heidi. Got my ticket. Bag searched. Body Wanded. Our little room was neatly set up with chairs, TV, bartender, and a betting machine. There was a door that led to a little covered balcony with chairs set up. It was a perfect set up to watch the races. There were some helpful people going around telling us more about the races and explaining things for us newbies, which I found rather helpful. I have never been to a horse race a day in my life, so I was pretty clueless. I can say that if I go back I will kinda know what's going on thanks to those guys. Black Eyed Susan Cocktails were dangerously good. I eventually had to cut myself off from those. Food was also great. I did get there in time for brunch and I got a bagel that was pretty good. I loved that the cream cheese was pre-scooped into tiny little balls. The lunch was especially good - crabcakes, ribs, cajun chicken, cesar salad, potato salad, asparagus, green beans, etc. I will say that was some of the best potato salad I've put in my mouth. I am disappointed in myself for not going back for more. All in all, it was a great day at the track. Thanks to all the Yelp staff and Americas Best Racing for a fantastic first time at Pimlico. I definitely plan to go back next year for Preakness.

The bathrooms do need a bit monitoring but again alot cleaner than other arcades we have been too! The food was great and we recently purchased the 4th of July play all day for the 3rd where they have the food eating contest, bbq buffet, live dJ and unlimited play! All for just $25/person. It was fun I was just bummed you couldn't earn tickets! Of course like all unlimited plays you cant play the purple games. The bbq chicken was oven made and delicious! Like made at home and not dry. The mac m cheese and baked beans were delicious too! I was actually impressed! They had whipped butter for the dinner rolls and potato salad and colesaw as well. Then the drinks of water, sprite and coke to choose from. The kids had a blast! I appreciate how only a handful of games were out of service but when we went back they were fixed! Only one or two were still out of service so they were on it! The first time we went I ordered the salmon and shrimp and was very surprised that the salmon was not over cooked! The cajun pasta was flavorful and used my favorite noodles, rigatoni!! I was so surprised haha because post people use alfredo noodles or penne. Everyone enjoyed the nachos and the white queso! Mozzarella sticks had an insaaannee cheese pull! I got two feet out of one before it broke, haha! Kudos to the chef! These differences is what makes people want to come back!

We stuck to the two-player games so we could battle it out: Ghostbusters, Sonic Olympics, Skee-Ball, Connect 4, and more. It wasn't busy at all for a Friday evening, which made it even better -- no long waits, just straight fun. The cons? Getting into the location is confusing -- you have to go through the mall and up to the second floor. Also, the app was a little glitchy. It links credits to Apple Wallet, but a few times the games would say we paid, then suddenly act like we hadn't, which meant one of us got stuck watching instead of playing. Still, once we figured it out, we had a blast. Perfect casual night out if you just want to play, laugh, and let your inner kid win a few rounds.

I went to get food assistance from this place a few times. However, nearly every time I went; I've…read morehad very bad experiences with the employees/volunteers that assisted me. The first, time I received horrible, unprofessional service, by very rude volunteers/employees. I just tried to forgive, and forget it. But, noticed, that the last couple of times that I went there for assistance; there was a few things that I refused to ignore. First, there's no privacy what-so ever. There's a row of chairs, right across from 2 desks, that face each other. So, when you're giving your personal info to them; everyone in that room (including possible criminals) could hear all of your personal info; because, the employees/volunteers do not care about blabbing out your personal info; including your full name & address ! Second, they seem to treat male consumers, with the utmost respect, but, treat female (especially, Black females) with very rude, and hostile attitude! I have experienced this firsthand; the last 2 times that I went there for food assistance (which is very rare). The first, unprofessional, rude experience by a volunteer/employee, happened when I went there a few months ago. After, I handed the volunteer/employee my license, she kept asking me if something was wrong. As if she was hoping that I'd tell her some tragic story; for her amusement. I, simply explained, that I was just tired (considering that I walked there - 5 miles). During, the time that she was giving a bag of food. I informed her that I couldn't take certain foods - due food allergies. She then, turned to another volunteer/employee, "Oh, she's trying to watch her weight." (3x times), and laughed! I guess the other volunteer/employee realized that it was very insulting, rude and unprofessional, and chose not to take part in it. Considering, I'm a petite woman, and she was obese; and felt comfortable enough, to throw insults at me (a Black woman) was not that shocking; considering, she knew she had the upper hand in the matter; if I would've responded, she most likely would've viewed me as a threat, hostile, and possibly, made me leave w/o assistance, or called the authorities on me. And, who would the officer(s) believed??? After I handed some food items back to her; she asked me to place the bag of unwanted food in 4 different places; as if she was getting pleasure out of asking me to do this. After, I finally set it down; she consulted with another volunteer/employee in the back on what to do with the bag of food. This other volunteer/employee, began huffing, and puffing, yelling, when she saw me! I guess, the sight of a petite, long, natural haired, Black woman, triggered her! SMH BOTTOM LINE: I did nothing to deserve the rude, hostile, unprofessional treatment that I received at this place. And, realized that I had to warn any others; of the possible unprofessional, hostile, treatment that may receive; if they decide to go to this place! LESSON: If you go to this place for assistance, and happened to be the wrong race or sex; you may greeted with very rude, unprofessional, and hostile volunteers/employees!
