We saw Oklahoma towards the start of its run and had to come back and see it on its closing day -…read moreit was THAT good. We are frequent patrons of The Playhouse and the shows just keep getting better. The actors, the costumes, the props, the set, the choreography, the tech - it's all high caliber. And there's not a bad seat in the house. The food is delicious and the drinks are wonderful as well. And the actors are hands-on at every step of the night: they wait tables, they serve the food, they greet the guests, they bartend, they cook, they do it ALL. It makes it a really special experience. We'll keep coming back for a long time. And if you haven't visited yet, you should give it a try. It's a gem.

I honestly want to rate it higher but the tickets were approximately $70 per person which is comparable to the other similar options. The food is the serious shortfall. This is the second year in a row it's been disappointing. The ham was like a lunch meat style ham cut into slices. They also had a white fish in a hollandaise type sauce which was okay. The sides were mashed potatoes (no gravy) , buttery carrots, and a broccoli & cheese dish. You also get a small salad and rolls with butter. It isn't a buffet as you are served in a cafeteria type line. They offer seconds if you're so inclined. But honestly it's kind of like hospital food. We had to eat on the way home and that's pretty disappointing considering the cost. It pails in comparison to Toby's or Ditch Apple theatre. There was people all around us mumbling about the food or lack there of including a grandmother who told her 10 year or so grandchild that she'd be taking him to McDonalds afterwards. Finally, a guy at a table close went outside to smoke his weed 4 times during the evening. So the 4 older couples around him had to endure the unpleasant odor. I'm sure it was noticeable to the servers in our section and anyone seated or working from the front door to the back of the venue.

Blocks of cheese on sale as well as crackers to enjoy their selection. If you plan on a day to wine hop, pack a small cooler with ice so you can take the cheese with you. Most cheese packs are sold with 4 blocks of cheese in 1 pkg. The Catawba brand of wine was was very nice, but the Cosmo slushy is better. It's refreshing on a hot day. TIP: limited parking in front of the facility & it sits on a corner of a highly traveled main road. Go past the winery, (right side; right lane) and take a right at its corner; take another right onto E Maple, the next street. From there, on the right is a graveled path. That's their area for patrons to park. Approx 8 cars can fit on left side of the path. No Food. Just cheese, crackers, and BlackOut pretzels.

The barrel aged wines that are specific like basil Hayden and makers mark are a very nice and unique touch! Made the wine very smooth! My husband is a super sweet (like grape juice sweet) wine drinker, and there wasn't a lot sweet enough for him but he did enjoy the raspberry wine slush and the peach wine! We will be back if we are in the area again!
