Always an upbeat and positive experience my coffee comes exactly as I order it no less no more everybody's friendly if I try and I don't like it they'll take it back and make me a new one and the price is always exactly what they say. The butterfinger coffee is excellent and tastes wonderful. Only complaint is some of the employees say some questionable things. Marylou's is right up there with Starbucks in terms of coffee flavors- and probably equally expensive! I always always get their Caramel Lou iced coffee and it is delicious! It's VERY SWEET & loaded with sugar (and calories I'm sure)! If you like sweet flavors this is the one for you! Others rave about flavors like: mint chocolate chip, Oreo& Girl Scout cookie! So there's a good variety of flavored speciality coffee! The Caramel Lou is considered a Specialty coffee so it will cost you around $5.48! They have a lot of amazing ladies who work there & I would say 7/10 times my coffee is made perfectly. There are a few people who don't know how to make it & it comes out awful! More then 2x I've gotten it with a minty taste which is equally awful- Idk if whoever trained them- did not train them properly but it's happened multiple times and not just at this location! Or maybe their substituting another ingredient- but it's nasty! However overall I love this delicious iced coffee and you should definitely give it a try if you like flavored iced coffee! read more

I appreciate their elaborate flavors of coffee. I stuck with a gourmet Twix iced coffee and it wasn't memorable. I will definitely be back to try something another flavor considering the plethora of flavor offerings. With my coffee, I like a bagel or muffin and with going through the drive thru (because I have an infant), it's too difficult to see what food they have to offer, as it looks like food isn't really their main selling point. I'm not going to ask the employee to list a million different kinds of muffins, that'd be annoying of me. Overall, there's definitely potential and it was just bad choosing of flavor on my part! This company overall is the best! My husband and I try to go through every chance we get wherever we are in the state. We get coffee and pounds of whole roasted beans; their crumb cake is the best I have ever had, and I cannot go through without picking at least two up at a time (until the discontinued it). The Girl Scout is my absolute favorite flavor. Unfortunately, the customer service at this location is lacking. I have been going almost weekly since December, and when I do, there is no one else in the drive-thru line. It is possible they are very busy inside the store but when I'm at the window there's a lot of chatting and giggling. I'm all about having fun with your job, but please remember that correct orders are what should count because that's what keeps the business going. I almost always order the same thing every time, and at least three times I've had the wrong size because they did not hear me, and this last time, there was no flavoring at all. I called to double-check that I was heard correctly, and the lady I spoke with confirmed it and said if I came back, they would remake it, but I don't have time. I'm usually very understanding and patient because I have done customer service and food service, but this is now a six - and change dollar drink that I have to add my own flavor and sweetener to and obviously I do not have the same peppermint mocha favoring that I love so much. read more

I had been wanting to try Mary Lou's for a few years now, but just never got around to it. I'm definitely a creature of habit and stick too DD and SB's but I also I like to try new things. This location is inside a shell station and also has a drive thru. My first impression was good, they were blaring my favorite country station and everything was pink.. Which is my obsession :-p. I ordered a minty Lou, which was good but nothing outrageous. I had really high expectations for their coffee but it was just average. I will definitely go back but not as often as I frequent my regular spots. One girl working was cool, the others... I'm new to the area so I thought I would check this place out. Being new I wasn't aware that this was a drive-through gas station coffee, but, I drove through it away. I got what the barista rep commended which was a peanut butter coffee and it actually wasn't that bad but I did get a small. Large is here at 24 ounces! That is insane! A small is sufficient, and if you're not sure what to try and are interested in trying something new, a peanut butter coffee is what I recommend! read more

Dearest Marylou I wanted to express my overwhelming confusion for your coffee... I've tried you several times, each time trying something new, yet tasting mostly the same thing... *tear* I've tried your Twix, Butterfinger, and The Turtle; each tasting like the next. My taste buds were at a loss... I've tried the Strawberry Shortcake coffee and felt like it was just TOO much.. I could barely taste the actual coffee. Too much cream (even though I specifically said NO on the cream), too much strawberry syrup (too sweet)... I wouldn't get this one again either.. The last time I ventured into the pink palace I went for something different, I believe it was called Hazelnut Fluff.. now THAT is what I was waiting for.. I could taste the nuttiness of the coffee and the creamy notes of the fluff but it was not so over powered in sweetness that you'd find yourself in a sugary coma. When presented with Marylou's vast menu.. I'd defiantly take a moment and review your choices before making a selection. Remember.. this IS a COFFEE shop! I'm also not a fan of the fact that the Marylou Coffee Shops around here are strictly IN gas stations.. They should look into having a free-standing establishment.. I think that any type of coffee establishment needs to have the basics covered if they want to survive in a Dunkin Donuts obsessed state (I am one of those obsessed;). Tip 1: If you dont have the majority of flavors listed on the menu....please dont list them on the menu. Tip 2: If your drive-thru customer didnt see the small handwritten sign before approaching the gigantic bright pink menu...don't be rude...just politely redirect them to the small sign indicating the 3 (of the 75) flavors you do have available. The pink décor of this coffee shop is so inviting. They did a good job because that's what caught my eye. I tried the twix ice coffee and it was amazing! I've heard great reviews about the coffee and it definitely exceeded my expectations. I've actually been meaning to visit, but the closest one to my house is the one in Quincy. With the constant traffic on 93, it would take me more than an hour to get there. Imagine my surprise when I came across a Marylous after taking a trip to Rhode Island. There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try. I also heard the girl scout cookie ice coffee was really good. Can't wait to find another opportunity to come here. read more

Marylou's coffee is sinfully good. Like, desert-like good. It's not exactly the first place I think of when I want a caffeine fix. It's a bit on the milder, sweeter side. But, its definite go-to if I want to treat myself after a long day. A few things that I don't like about this (or really any Marylou branch in RI) is that they are "conveniently" connected to a Shell gas station. I say "conveniently" because I generally don't get gas and think to myself: "Hmm. I could use a Marylou's right now." I usually make a stop here without getting or needing gas. If they were a stand alone coffee place I think they would fair better in sales. Another eh, factor (this is more of a company thing) for me are the tacky "wanna-be Hooter girls in pink" all over the menus sipping a coffee. I mean, really?? Come on Marylou's show some class. With that kind of advertisement, I should be getting this coffee for the same if not lower the price of what I pay for in Dunkin. Which is what knocks this down from 4 to 3 stars. However, due to the novelty treat-factor and Marylou's wide, inventive coffee flavor combos. I'll let the whole pricing thing slide. I will however speak well for this branch in particular. Since I have rarely received a coffee made wrong (I think twice ever) here. Plus the staff are pretty cheerful and friendly here. I recommend trying the Creamy Chocolate Coconut and/or the A.O.K Cookie (with no sugar cause it's pretty sweet without it). read more

Im from Ohio and don't live in Rhode Island but my whole family does. My cousin took me here one day and isn't a big fan of coffee and neither am I but this place rocks! You wouldn't think so because it's in a gas station but you need to try it! The peanut butter wonderful is amazing and they have so many delicious options it's hard to choose! I usually visit the drive through several times a week - hot flavored coffee when it's cold out and flavored iced when it's warmer. Generally, the coffee is consistent and service is friendly. I ordered 2 iced at the drive through on my way to work - 1 for me and a treat for my co-worker. Upon getting my order at the window, I questioned the coffees based on the look, one was a little lighter than the other. The worker, whom seemed to be newer, assured me that she wrote the order on each cup and that they were correct. I had her add more milk to one of them. When I gave my friend her iced, she said "yuck, this has sugar in it!" I tasted mine and it seemed that our orders had been mixed up, although the correct order WAS written on the cups. My friend threw hers away and I ended up just drinking a little of mine. The next morning I returned to Mary Lou's and went inside. I explained what happened and ordered 2 iced again. As I watched them being made, I questioned if one was banana nut as I saw her put in regular. She said yes it is. Upon carrying them to the counter, the worker so "oh" and quickly made a banana one. I knew it had been made wrong again! She rang up the order and I said that I would like them complimentary. She replied that she couldn't do that without seeing the wrong coffees! She said that her manager would be there in 8 minutes after I questioned the situation. I called an hour later to talk with the manager and the worker replied that she wasn't there that day. It's the principal of the situation, but they just lost a frequent customer due to the way my situation was handled - no apology, acted like it was my fault. read more
