My previous review (4 stars) from the original location: **************** 7/14/2015 2 check-ins Came by the other night & they had some fresh made French crullers. I picked up a couple of those, an apple fritter & some glazed donuts. As I was walking out to my truck I decided to take a bite of the cruller before I hit the road. Before I knew it, it was gone & I was back in the store buying a few more. So good I could have eaten 4-5 in the parking lot. Specialty donut shops, artisanal donuts ... $2-5 a piece?!? No thank you. Mary's has a variety of great donuts, made all day long and reasonably priced. Plus the service is friendly. Mary's has been a special donut place for decades. They'll be around long after all the 'specialty', artisanal, trendy places have come & gone. ***************** Update: When I came in, the place wasn't packed but there were quite a few customers waiting & being served. I observed the staff being quite friendly & cheerful as they helped customers. I looked at the donut cases and there were quite a few to choose from. I'm partial to their French crullers but in the large selection of donuts in the case I didn't see any. A little bummed but I saw various other donuts & fruit burritos which would satisfy my trip here. As I patiently waited my turn, an employee walked up to me & handed me a warm freshly made donut ... A FRENCH CRULLER! REALLY! Are these people mind readers & donut whisperers??? I took a bite & knew this was "Mary's Donuts" ... When it was my turn to be served (which was only about a minute after I had been handed the cruller), I asked my server if they were now making the crullers. He said "Yes" and that sealed it. I asked for a bunch of those, an apple fritter & a fruit burrito. As I was being served a lot more people started to come in. While there, I saw a staff that was friendly & helpful, and the only ones not helping customers were obviously involved in some other task. I did not witness poor service at any time. There wasn't any organized 'line' but as employees saw customers who looked like they were ready to order they would ask them if they were ready to be helped. Out of courtesy I saw most customers point out if someone else was there before them. Sorry to those who felt they had a disappointing visit. After all, this still is just a donut shop & not a Michelin starred restaurant. read more

The donuts are GREAT! The people selling the donuts are even BETTER! The Bakers in the back that you can actually see making these delicious donuts are working hard making consistent delicious donuts. There is one Baker that is my favorite to watch bake. He is the oldest man back there and takes great pride in his craft. You can see it in the way he works! Somehow he knows I appreciate super fresh and hot donuts! On rare occasions he will spot me standing in line or ordering. He will pick up the freshest donut in the entire MARY'S Donut Shop and offer it to me on a piece of tissue! YOOOOHOOOO! Not a big fan of donuts but have been hearing so much about Mary's donuts and have they have the best apple critters and cream donuts. Since this may be a biased review since I'm not much of a donut person I wouldn't make the drive cllllll the way down here just for donuts but that doesn't mean it wasn't good. I don't really know but I'm still a crispy creme kind of girl. I mean i love how soft crispy creme makes their donuts so everywhere else just tastes very doughy and dry. But over all, decent donut shop and if you are true donut lover then drop on by because it's a nice, clean place with a nice staff. read more

I love Mary's donuts and is still our #1 favorite place to go when we want a sweet treat. Both new and old locations are great. The new shop has bigger cases so it isn't always full, but it is just as full as the old Mary's. The old Mary's doesn't always have cases either, depending on the time of day and demand for donuts. Mary's donuts are always fresh, unlike other donut shops who serve donuts that have been sitting all day. I will recommend Mary's donuts to anybody! I was in Mary's for the first time, and I couldn't believe their donuts! Awesome!!! Especially the fruit burrito. :-) Who really cares about the service,which was great; I would go thru almost anything for one of their donuts, fresh, flavorful, not too sweet, not hard or too soft. This place is the REAL deal- bomb bagels, sandwiches and big homemade muffins to die for, and hot or cold coffee! Yes please!! This place tends to be busy especially in the mornings but rightly so! I got an egg n bacon sandwich on a cheese jalepeño bagel with their chipotle cream cheese on the side- bomb! Their cream cheese on the side was a bit pricey but worth it! I also ordered a pistachio iced coffee with oat milk- so heavenly! I came here after a hike and it was the perfect treat! Staff are nice and attentive- there's two registers because they get busy so that was nice- ppl order quickly. They also have a nice seating area inside or outside- very chill place to hang and eat. Especially if you bring a pup- outside seating is nice. They also have fresh orange juice that my friend got and dang- had I know I would have ordered one too! I tasted it and sooo yummy. Prices are decent but again- worth it. I'll be back again and again!
