Some of the best consistent food around, always having quality fast Mexican food.. the whole menu is worth it

I ordered carne asada fries. The price is decent for a large portion. The cashier girl asked me what I want to add to it. I asked her to garnish it however she likes herself. Omg, it was really good. The burger and fries were ok. But the fries tasted familiar like from a frozen bag I could get at a grocery store. Same with the yellow rice I had. If I wanted to cook at home this is basically what I could've used. It was not worth $20. Very nice service good came out hot and fast. read more

The sopes of this truck are to die for. The tortilla has the perfect thickness for that killer bite. The beans and the meat (asada) is so flavorful; and on top the regular shredded cabbage and the queso fresco sopes usually have they put some sour cream.... it makes this little sopes the second best in my list! (King tacos' the first) They're small compare to other places' sopes buy they're just that good that you wouldn't mind the size of the sope itself. Sopes are the only thing I have tasted from this truck but I am so in love with them that is enough for me to write a review so I can make someone else happy when they get to try "the sopes." If you love salsa they offer three or four kinds... I heard the red one is the most popular! I could eat four of those sopes without any salsa by myself. Go give them a try. read more

Mary's taco truck is.... THE BEST! After moving to DTLA, my roommate and I wanted to find a taco spot. Although we have to drive out here for the taco and it's probably not the most convenient or nicest part of LA, the tacos here are so worth it. After moving in, we came here 3 times within 5 days!!! Lol! I've tried Mary's carne asada, chicken, carnitas tacos, and the chicken sope. First time trying a sope so I don't know how they normally taste like, but my goodness it's so good here! The meat is always fresh and Mary always tops off the tacos with lots of fresh vegetables (fresh onions and cilantro!) By far my favorite tacos I've ever had! This truck is unbelievable! The service is phenomenal, the food is life-changing, & it's so affordable, I can't believe it exists. Mary's truck sticks around the block until late for those late-night cravings, but is open in the afternoons as well. There are some cute tables to sit at next to the truck, which is great for waiting customers & folks who aren't taking to-go. Their meat seasoning must be witchcraft because it's always divine. This food truck is at a populous corner, but this place is really a locals truck that does not get much love from the traveling crowd. Most that were eating here knew "Maria" by name. I tried it anyway, since I was in the area for a musical at the Hayworth Theatre. I wasn't disappointed, but I probably wouldn't seek out this food truck either. First time here and I'm impressed! I've lived across the street for a year now and I've been skeptical about eating here! I've walked up to it on different occasions but never got myself to purchase! But today, I mustn't starve! I played it safe and bought the cheeseburger and fries! Pretty good! Mary's is such a hit or miss. Some days, her tacos really hit the spot. On these days, the meat is flavorful and tender. On these days, I may or may not return a few hours later for another hit. Other days, they're dry or under seasoned. Not really sure why. Tacos are $1 each. Sopes are $1.25. Never tried the other stuff. I stick to the carne asada though. It's her most consistent meat in terms of flavor and texture. I've tried the cabeza, but it was really waxy. The pastor is very dry -- left me feeling like I had my throat sanded down. Dona Mary is the real deal. I live in the OC now and trust when I say I miss her street tacos bc them tacos over there ain't real tacos. Been eating her tacos, tortas, and burritos for years since I lived in LA my entire life before moving, and no other food trucks compare. Good cheeseburger and seasoned fries, for only $5 total! I thought that was worth mentioning since there aren't many burger joints in this neighborhood. It's just !like a good cheeseburger from a good mom and pop place. The lady who I assume is Mary is really nice, which isn't always the case with taco trucks. When I tried the carne asada burrito it wasn't the best carne asada I've ever had, but it was sufficiently tasty. I would give it another try, and I'd be interested to try the chicken and some of other meats. Happy she was open the day after Christmas, despite what it says here! read more

Average taco truck with below average prices. Best in LA? Nope. Best for the price around that area? Absolutely. Carnivores delight, Vegetarians/Vegetable lovers nightmare. I'm by no means a vegetarian- but I do like more options than a plain quesadilla when the urge hits me. If you want seasoned meat on a tortilla with chopped onions/cilantro (nothing different here) and cheap cans of coke, you're in business. If you want salsa selection, cabbage, radish, guacamole, pico, self-serve limes, any kind of veggies- not the place for you. read more

This is the Communities food truck here Doña Mary knows everyone and the food makes you feel like you are back home for zero experience in cooking prior to her food truck opening she has managed to stay alive for 17yrs in the same stop so that alone is a testimony on its own, there are some improvements like the quesadilla needs more green but its overall great the tacos! are excellent. we have schools and courts in the area and everyone comes down to get tacos and sopes n the"special hamburger" this is a great food truck for fast friendly service read more

Mary's regularly parks down the street on Rampart most afternoons, and I grab tacos from time to time. I'm not generally a fan of soft-shell tacos, but hers are quite good. And at a buck and a quarter, very affordable. I finally tried the Asada Fries. Tasty and VERY filling! read more

Hands down, the best taco truck in LA. I've been to them all. Taco Row on 3rd (Juanitas, Taco Movil, etc.), the taco truck next to both gas stations on Western and Vermont, and others on a quest to see if there is any greater truck than Mary's Tacos. It used to be called El Quick Taco but they purchased a new truck due to their business doing well actually. The carne asada tacos are the best ever. Pure flavor and the size of the taco is great...all for $1 straight up. Compared to them tacos at Mariela's, King Taco, El Taurino, or Tacos Mexicos, the size and value alone should make you come here. The sauces aren't that spicy, but if you get the jalepeno chilis on the side, you won't need them. Mary and her husband run the truck and they're simply the best. read more

Let's do this again, I wrote a review prior to this one but since I was talking shit about Andrea V Yelp decided to pull the review, anyhow I love Mary's carne asada tacos $1 dolla make all ya'll holla, anyhow the reddish salsa is the bomb diggity it will kick your somewhat ass, also their potato tacos dprado is something something. Really not as good as everyone says it is. Maybe it's because we went after dinner hours? But still, it was only 8 pm. The al pastor was way too salty and both the al pastor and carne asada seemed dry... as if they were made way earlier in the day an just reheated. The cheeseburger was actually better than the tacos. Very great taco truck ! She gives a variety of sopes, tacos, burritos, even hot wings yes hot wings ! Her can sodas are ALL 50 cents which is amazing, bag of chips are 75 cents, her bigger drinks are all 1 dollar, tacos are 1 dollar, sopes are 1.25. My husband and I have been to a few local trucks off 3rd, nothing special, in fact kinda pricey. Mary's Taco Truck is awesome cuz they're tacos are $1 and burritos $4. I haven't tried the burger but tempted to. The taco and burritos are pretty generous and heavy - usually my man will eat an entire Chipotle burrito (except for the part of the tortilla that gets hard on the bottom) but on one occasion he couldn't finish Mary's burrito. They look small but are heavy. We literally walk to this spot when we can scrounge up some change and don't want to cook dinner. We usually get the same thing, 3 asada tacos for me and 1 asada burrito for the spouse. For $7 bucks, you can't beat that! Plus, its so close! I give it 4 stars cuz we've walked over around 8pm on weekdays and she wasn't there so it made us very sad - especially since one of us was gonna have to cook when we got home.
