our family stayed in one of the condos, specifically unit 3. super nice place great for a family. there was 4 floors which was a lot of steps but it was such a cozy cute place with amazing views. the garage is nice to have for the winter i assume. we were there in the summer. read more

Put on your patience wings and take a little drive out Highway seven to Mary's lake lodge and find your way to the old school lodge restaurant up high on the hill.. What Mary's lake lodge restaurant lacks in service, it makes up for in it's amazing views, Vistas, and delicious food. Beware that the staff is entirely foreign exchange workers and young "kids", so you're probably not gonna get a napkin wrapped around your wine bottle or a wine chiller or maybe even the right plate or steak knife. And the service is going to be a little bit slow and disorganized, typical to Estes Park. And that's the worst of it... Once you've accepted what you cannot change, sit back and enjoy a drink and sit on the patio for amazing views and a yummy dinner. I had their bloody Mary which was good and unique stuffed with olives lemon lime and... A SlimJim! Unique. We ordered the wild game sausages for a starter and they were huge and filling in after that we reconsidered our menu options because we were stuffed. One large pheasant and one large Elk sausage arrived served with hot sauerkraut which was pretty yummy and very German. For dinner we decided to split the ribeye and double the order of asparagus. It was completely sufficient for two people. Two hungry people. The ribeye needed a little bit of salt and pepper but was cooked perfectly and was simple and delicious, the potatoes were amazing and the Asparagus was great. At the end of the meal, the touch that got the extra star up there was that was a little man in a golf cart who drove us to our car on the very steep slope. Nice touch of class! read more

We stayed here for a wedding and enjoyed our stay. The lodge is about a 5-10 minute drive from the main downtown area and overlooks a small lake (more like a pond). The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms in the main lodge are comfortable, but show signs of age. However, the private condos and cabins surrounding the lodge are all recently renovated and very nice. The rooms are not cleaned each night, although fresh towels, soaps and trash can be removed nightly. Overall, this is a great place to stay with family or take a date for a romantic getaway, especially for the price! read more

This is a cozy place with booths and a large bar near a lake in Estes Park. It's a bit of a drive from the town. The restaurant is actually called the Big Beaver Brewery and Tavern. I had the meat loaf, which was a little too rich for my liking - I should have kept it more simple with the pheasant or a burger...it was just too much game for my taste (but you should try it if you like those types of dishes) They weren't super busy as we were there off season, and it took a minute for the server to find us. I'm glad we went here. If only for the view. One of the best. The food, however, left something to be desired. This was mostly glorified bar food. We started with the touted seafood bisque, which was tasty but lukewarm. Next was the Iceberg Wedge. It was okay, but the wedge was way past it's prime. The kids split the Fish and Chips and the Tuna Melt. Both of these were quite good. Especially the Tuna and the Fish. The chips were actually kettle chips. I had the Filet Mignon, which was not so special. It was slightly overcooked but was still tender. It was served with some pretty good mashes potatoes and some rather dingy baby carrots and haricot verts. I would suggest this place for it's view, but not much else. It is overpriced for what it is, but still worth it of you want cocktails and appetizers. It's also a bit hard to find, as the Yelp address and the physical don't match. read more

We loved this hotel! They did have a fire a week before we stayed there so they upgraded us to a condo. The condo was amazing with two bathrooms (one with a jetted tub). The porch had an awesome view and we even had a deer visitor. The chairs on the porch were extremely uncomfortable though. It was wrought iron and no cushions. We would have liked to sit out on the porch longer to enjoy the view but our butts hurts so bad. The staff was very friendly. We would definitely stay here again. read more

We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo with hot tub. It was gorgeously decorated, and felt like we were in someone's home, it was clean and a generous size. Nice bedding, and since we arrived late, we were wowed with gorgeous mountain views in the morning. The hot tub was very clean and obviously well maintained. There was a huge jet tub in the master suite. The huge deck had a grill, table and chairs and had doors from both the dining area and living room. Each room had a tv, and basic cable package. We will definitely be back. Includes a washer / dryer combo and dishwasher, full sized fridge and kitchen. read more

The lodge itself is very pretty but the rooms are not great. The first room that we were put in was priced as a "studio" which was far off. The room was barely big enough for the bed and you couldn't open the door without it hitting furniture. Not to mention our view was the grease traps from the restaurant below, and when you opened the window the overwhelming smell of grease filled the room. We spoke to the front desk the next morning and they did move us to a larger room which had much more space, which was very kind. In both rooms the main issue at night was noise, if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs, because it pretty much sounds like someone is kicking a pipe behind your headboard the whole night. Pretty resort, but I do not think I will be back. Good for a one night stay after a wedding but not for a vacation. Last thing, the restaurant is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, which they forgot to mention before we got there, so we were unable to even try it. read more

I took my wife to Estes Park to propose and the night before we went to The Chalet Room at Mary's Lake Lodge. The food was spectacular. We had a seafood stew that was one of the best things I've ever tasted. The steak was phenomenal too; cooked perfectly with amazing flavor. The absolute best part though was our waiter. I wish I could remember his name, but this was a couple of years ago. He was a sommelier part time and had the kindest demeanor I've ever seen in any service industry. I left the biggest tip I've ever given and still feel like I should have left more. It was a truly wonderful evening. You really should try it. read more

This is our favorite place to stay in Estes. Get a room with a private hot tub on the deck - you can soak and look out at the beautiful mountain views! The Lodge is not within walking distance of town or Rocky Mountain National Park, but there's only a short drive to get anywhere and hikes in the area as well. The buildings are beautiful wood. The rooms are outfitted with art I actually want to look at, comfortable beds, and super fluffy towels. My son even thought the pull out couch bed was very comfy. Unlike a bare bones motel or hotel, Mary's feels like a true vacation home where we can cook in a full kitchen, play games, watch dvds on a nice TV, and generally hang out like we would at home (but with views and a hot tub!) This Lodge is on the pricey side, but they have a great winter special of 3 nights for the price of 2. read more

I recommend the chalet salad, fresh and large, in the tavern at lunch. The French onion soup is flavorful. The cioppino is delicious! The trout is also good. Serving sizes here are large. I saw a table order a bowl of cookies with ice cream- haha! If it's a nice day, try out the outdoor seating. The Tavern is more casual, with a lodge feel, and live music. The chalet is lovely. In the Chalet you can order off of either menu, except no sandwiches in the chalet. It has a great view as well and tends to be quieter and more relaxing. If you want a casual fun dinner or lunch in Estes, try the Tavern. For a nicer seafood dinner, try the Chalet. read more

My sister got married at Mary's Lake Lodge last weekend and boy, was it fantastic! I didn't stay at the Lodge, we stayed in the Condos, but my sister stayed at the Lodge - the room was clean, spacious and nice. I heard the food at the restaurant was excellent. The food that was served at the wedding was SO good. Event catering can be hard - hard to keep food hot and consistent for a large event. I typically stay away from fish at events because it's typically pretty "fishy" tasting. This was not the case at the wedding! Steak and trout were served, both prepared perfectly. The veggies were pretty typical, the green salad included a very good raspberry vinaigrette. The Lodge would be perfect for a weekend mountain getaway! read more

We dined in the Chalet. The view was amazing. We were seated in the corner in between two windows so we could see the mountains from both sides. Perfect table for two. I had the seafood bisque which was delicious and the favorite part of my meal. My friend had the french onion soup which looked to be loaded with cheese. She said it was good. We split the Chalet Fresh salad, which was not worth $11. It wasn't crisp, said it had pumpkin seeds but we didn't see one and I think it might have had goat cheese instead of feta but it wasn't enough to taste it. We split a chicken special which was a little dry but good. The rice and veggies it was served with were unremarkable and could have been from Luby's cafeteria. Loved the french press coffee. The wine list is expansive and they had a 4-wine sampling for $15. The service was attentive, professional and accommodating. The Tavern had a small band and it looked like people were having fun but we didn't stay. They had a patio outside from the Tavern but it had already been enclosed for winter. I'd recommend going for the view and the seafood bisque if nothing else. read more

Checked in to a 2 bed 2 bath condo. Couldn't have asked for more. The view was spectacular, hot tub worked well and we used it a lot. Beds were comfy, condo was very clean and accommodating. Now for the best part, we had dinner at the lodge on Saturday night, it was fantastic, the Elk Chops were so tender we could cut them with a fork. The appetizers were so flavorful and just amazing. We can't wait to come back either later this year or next year. read more

We stayed in one of the economy unit in Mary's Lake Lodge during Memorial Day weekend in 2017. I would definitely recommend this to everyone visiting to Estes Park. Unit was beautiful with all required amenities and best view one can get. We were 6 adults and we felt unit was spacious with 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. I loved how they had decorated the place. We had very big patio with wooden swing but it didn't had hot tub. Location was good, 2-3 miles away from Safeway and food joints. I wish shower runs a little faster. We stayed here this past week for a destination wedding and our group booked several different rooms. Our room was 203--- a very nice, updated room compared to some of the other rooms our group got assigned. For example, our room had 2 flat screen TVs, with digital dishwasher and cool cabin feeling bear/moose decor. For example, room 205 looked like a room from the 90s complete with a tube style TV. Despite the differences in decor, it was really the view that made everything perfect! We had beautiful snowfall one day and the kids got to play on the mountainside of the facility and even built their first snowman! The back porch for room 203 was magnificent! There was a grille and a small refrigerator along with some patio seating and a lovely porch swing. I'm was perfect to sit on the swing outside with hot coffee in hand while enjoying the crisp breeze and view. The room was equipped with plush towels in the bathrooms while the kitchen was supplied with dish soap, garbage bags, dishwasher tablets and paper towels. Our unit's kitchen also had essentials gadgets like a blender, toaster, knives, cutting board, pots, pans, coffee pot, utensils, tableware and glassware. Pack less and take advantage of the stacked washer and dryer for the unit. The drive into downtown Estes Park was shorter than 10 minutes--- there was a local grocery store--Safeway-- where you can stock up on perishables for your stay. read more

The Chalet Room restaurant gets a 5. It was so good! I had Colorado Red Trout, with a subtle almond and butter sauce. My husband had a juicy steak au poivre. The views from the hotel balcony and pool are spectacular. Nothing beats relaxing in a hot tub with a mountain view after a 4 hour hike. There's live music in the Tavern every night of the summer. Most of it is pretty lukewarm, but a nice touch. A particularly fun evening we had was sitting on the balcony and listening to a Colorado Bluegrass Band. They were awesome and very nice guys! We took a lovely morning walk to Marys Lake (artificial, but pretty). Now, on to the rooms...we stayed in the most economical room, which left a little something to be desired. The bed was not very comfortable. I requested a microwave and mini-fridge, pretty standard in any grade of hotel. Upon check-in, I was told that the studio rooms do not have these, and we would have to upgrade rooms if we wanted these. We declined. So we were quite limited in what kinds of food we could buy for breakfast or snacks. However, the room served its purpose, as we were rarely in it. It was a sleeping place. Condos or cabins - generally in Estes Park - seem like the way to go. Mary's Lake condos/cabins are very expensive. For spectacular scenery and evening entertainment, Marys Lake is wonderful. Be prepared to pay big bucks for a more plush room. read more

This is the second time that our family has stayed here, and we have really enjoyed our stay both times. The modern decor is very tasteful, and furniture is comfortable. We specifically stay in Estes Park to relax so the private hot tub on the balcony is perfect for us. We stayed in unit 21A for our first visit and requested the same unit for this visit. We arrived when the office was closed so picked up our keys after hours. Unfortunately, the keys were for a different unit (19B), and I was disappointed to find the hot tub to be less than private and not very sheltered. The unit itself was beautiful and perhaps even more recently remodeled than 21A. However, my allergies began to act up the second we entered the unit. Upon inspection, my husband found quite a bit of dog hair(?), and set about vacuuming and stripping the bedsheets to wash everything within the first half hour we arrived. Before throwing everything in the wash, he called the after-hours line and we were reassigned to 21A, and our first night was comped. We love how quiet the location is, and the view of the stars from the hot tub at night. The beds are pretty nice and comfortable, and the master bedroom has an adjoining full bath with a walk-in, double headed shower. The second bathroom has a small but deep jetted tub. The unit has a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, and a gas fireplace that gives off quite a bit of heat. read more

Need to have coffee in the lobby. No complimentary water in the room to even make a cup of brown water. People would enjoy the property more of the on site restaurant offered breakfast. Also, room 215 had no running water in the shower. We paid good money for a nice place and we were sorely disappointed. And of course, there was no one at the front desk when we left. That way they don't have to listen to the complaints. We will never stay there again-and most definitely will not recommend it. read more

The large windows view Estes Park extended from the kitchen and around to the side of the condo in the bedroom. The hot tub was a great bonus on the cold starry night. Very poor service, painstaking problems with our entire wedding party, over charged and still waiting to hear back. Yes, Kaylee Bedford, we've sent you and your team countless emails and no one has replied to us. We've tried calling to no answers. Exhausting. We gave Mary's Lake Lodge the benefit of the doubt because of the fire and we truly sympathize. Although it doesn't forgive the terrible way the staff treated all of us and continue to avoid making things right. Avoid this place at all costs! read more

We had quite a few issues with the room we were in (214-seemed to be handicap accessible), which was a "Deluxe Lodge King Suite". It was in an alley above the noisy kitchen with no views, only 1 of the 4 windows had a screen (others were busted out), the AC barley worked, blinds were dusty, carpet was old, and everything just seemed really out dated and run down. We called to have maintenance come fix the AC but didn't seem like it was ever resolved while we were out during the day. Also when there's weddings it's extremely loud in that room (until 10-11pm). I did have some cousins staying in condos and I can say those are spectacular. I think the resort needs to invest some more resources into the lodge itself though. Also, on the last night (night 4) we were laying in our rooms just sweating because it was so hot even though we had the AC on full blast and the one screened window open - we even opened the windows without screens to try and cool down at one point. Finally we called the front desk and they moved us up to a honeymoon suite to sleep for the night. The AC was much better in there so we greatly appreciate the front desk in being so accommodating. Wish we could've moved to a cooler the first night , but we got told it was completely booked then. Another side note if you're staying in the lodge (because condos have full kitchens). There's no option for breakfast at the resort, as the restaurant is only open after 2pm Some days. There is no microwave in the rooms either - only a mini fridge and small Keurig. read more

My girlfriend told me to down grade my review from a 3 star to a 1 star after she got the bill and they charged us extra for a cleaning charge. What really ticked her off is that one of our friends got ill in the room and were charged over $200.00 extra for a cleaning charge. I guess we won't ever be staying there again. read more

We did not have a reservation when we should have (our fault) but instead of placing us where they already said they have room, they asked how long it would take us to eat and acted really inconvenienced that we had no reservation. We were seated on the ice cold enclosed patio, where the overhead heaters were so noisy we could bare speak, and the overhead fans are placed in such a way in front of a light where you get dizzly looking at the menu. After sitting unacknowledged for 15 minutes, we got up and left (despite the gift certificate we had). Maybe appropriate for lunch, or dinner on a non-busy night, but overall they do not seem to know what they are doing. Really a bummer because it is a BEAUTIFUL setting! read more

This place has a wide variety of maintenance issues. Also they have all kinds of extra fees over and above thier 300 a night room rate. The rooms they say you have at reservation is not the one you get. Then 4 days after you leave they charged several of the guests who where there for a very expensive wedding, an additional charge on thier credit cards. Which they romove only after you call and tell them about it and then they say it was a mistake. So far at least 5 guests of the wedding party that stayed there have had this issue. read more

We originally we supposed to go to Grand Lake for A Valentine's Day getaway. They called us as we were halfway there and said that our room had been illegally book. Long story short, we detoured into Estes Park to look for a room. We found Mary's Lake Lodge, who happened to have a cancellation and we were able to book a room. The front desk staff, Heidi and Aidan, were extremely helpful in accommodating us! The cabin styled condo was amazing! We spent the night looking at the stars from the private hot tub. It truly made this the best Valentine's getaway that I have ever had. We are already excited about returning!!!! read more

I couldn't have imagined a more perfect venue for our wedding day than Mary's Lake Lodge! Ashley was so amazing throughout the whole planning process. She coordinated everything the day of the wedding which made it all stress-free and easy. We had a destination wedding so about 60 of our closest family and friends stayed at the resort the entire weekend of the wedding. My husband and I stayed in a one bd condo for our honeymoon trip. While initially delighted with the space, it became more uncomfortable as time went on. The air conditioner stopped working in the middle of the night and the living room furniture is stiff and cheap. And there was only one wall AC unit upstairs for the whole condo. The bathroom was lovely and decor charming. The part of our experience that ruined everything for us was their service. Their staff are just horrid. We had a piece of jewelry go missing from our condo, and the only answer we got was "you must have misplaced it". Victim-blaming, how terrible! No one just "misplaces" a gold necklace. We also noticed a charge on our credit card account, but realized they never gave us a receipt, so we inquired about it, and boy am I glad we did! They overcharged us, but couldn't give an explanation about what happened. I made sure to get a receipt via email this time. So not only did a piece of our property disappear from the condo we were staying in, but they overcharged us for no reason! We had to ask TWICE about the charge to even get a response. I also reached out to the Lodging Director (multiple times) and one of the owners about the missing necklace with NO response. These people don't care about their customers at all. I was hesitant about booking here when reading the other reviews about the dishonest business practices, but brushed them off because the price was right. BIG mistake! The headache is NOT worth dealing with these awful people for a mediocre space. You definitely won't save money when they deceptively add bogus charges to your account. There are TONS of other gorgeous places in Estes Park and the Mary's Lake area that won't steal from you. read more

Wow! This place is amazing, our home away from home. If I could own a place here I would. We first had a 1 bedroom condo and after seeing all the stairs we asked for a 2 bedroom since most of those are in the front and have little or no stairs. The front desk was more than happy to accommodate us and at no extra cost. Fortunately, we were placed in 40A. There is a little walk from the parking area, but we were able to unload right by the door. This place is incredible! All the latest designs and features- granite counters, wood floors, TV, Sonos, washer/dryer, comfy bed, 2 bathrooms, hot tub, gas grill, and a full kitchen. After we saw the kitchen fully loaded with utensils, spices, dishes, coffee maker, tea maker, cocktail bar, pots, pans, mixing bowls, strainers. You get everything your home would have. We decided to head to Safeway to get groceries for our stay. The view is amazing so why leave? We loaded up and stayed in for the 3 days. The hot tub was clear and clean. In fact the maintenance guy showed up a few minutes after we arrived to check on it and treat it. I liked that they label all the switches and have an instruction book on how to operate the hot tub, grill, and wifi. This unit is perfect and every time we return this is the condo we are reserving. read more

Room was awesome, customer service was NOT great AT ALL. I booked my reservation for two nights over 3 months in advance on their website, paying in-full. Afterwards I emailed their reservations department requesting I be put near or around other guests of the wedding party (the wedding being the reason I made the reservation that weekend), received no response. Emailed them again about a week later following up on my email- never got a response. About three months later, the week OF the wedding, I called to ask a few questions about the room- no one bothered to pick up the phone! I left a voicemail asking them to please call me back- never heard back from anyone. Called again twice the day I was supposed to arrive, left two additional voicemails, and STILL never received a call in return. When I arrived and checked in, the younger staff member working the Front Desk was on a personal call and made me wait until he finished to assist me. Really bad customer service. Super unfortunate since everything else about it was great! Will never be paying in-full/advance again- would rather have had the option to stay somewhere else. read more

After discussing a block of rooms for our wedding for two months, we were suddenly informed that there was no availability. Initial conversation had told us that there was ample availability, and that a room block would be no problem. However, when it came time to book, we were suddenly told here was nothing available. We stayed here for our family reunion and decided to try the restaurant. It was wonderful!!! The ceasar salad was the best I've had with homemade "made at your table" dressing . Yummy! We're driving home from our daughter's wedding this past weekend and it's one we'll never forget. She was married outdoors at their ceremony site on top of the mountain. Wedding coordinators Jessica and Annaleigh were outstanding and pulled off a stress free wedding for us. The food was great and the drinks were all Premium brands. General manager Tina Harlow bent over backwards to accommodate our 24 notice of a special reception dinner the day before the wedding. Friendly, exceptional attitudes! I'm rating Mary's Lake Lodge a 5 star on beautiful setting and service but if you stay, rent one of the private condos, especially the newer ones on the east side of the lodge. They are very nice. The lodge rooms are about a 1 Star and for the price, cannot recommend at all. The 3 bedroom and 4 bedroom condos we rented and some guests were nice but no central air. read more

What a disappointment. We have traveled all over the world, and stayed in all kinds of hotels, so we have a lot to compare this place to. The lodge's rates put them at the higher end of the scale, but their accommodations were what you'd find at a hostel. The bed was a double bed, not even a queen; no one still does that. Hot water was an issue - it took forever to warm up, and one morning it NEVER got hot. There is no maid service, but they tacked on an additional $60 cleaning charge to the already pricey rate. Seriously? The cute decor and nicely folded towels don't make up for this poor quality. However the restaurant was awesome - great food, beautiful view, and lovely service. Too bad the hotel isn't as good as their restaurant at delivering value. read more
