I've been going to Dolly's off of Black Mountain Rd for threading for the past decade but they're 20 minutes away and Mary's is only 10 minutes away and right across from the car wash that I frequent, so I thought it was time to try a new place. I arrived to find one customer and one employee, Rigoberta I think her name was? I waited about 25 minutes, in the very middle of the day. To be fair, she was the only employee and the customer looked like she was getting quite a bit done. They should have more than one person working because I almost walked out. When she was done with the previous customer, she was very kind and apologetic. Once we got started, it was actually the most painful threading that I've ever had. I switched from waxing to threading because it hurt less and didn't irritate my skin as badly. But, this time, even with the aloe vera gel that she put on after, I have several LARGE red bumps around my eyes. As for the brows themselves, they looked great and she did a great job with shaping, but a threading shouldn't hurt as badly as it did... as if she were pulling skin and not just hairs. I had tiny bruises form later in the day, which I've never had happen around my eyes before. In the end, the cost for brows alone was $12 and she offered me a package of 6 brow threadings for $48 and considering how painful it was, I declined. I tipped her $3 and left because she did do a good job on shaping and earned some tip... but after when the bruises formed, I was relieved that I didn't buy the package. read more

I concur with the other poster about prepaid services. I, too, was not notified of the expiry date and only found out during the second time I availed of services. I bought it over a year ago and purposely let it lapse. At the time I purchased there was no sign in the store, no notice on the card, or no notification at the time of sale. It seems they have heard complaints and have started to do a better job of telling buyers. Too bad for those of us that bought before they decided to clean up their business practices. Nonetheless, I chose to let it expire because while the work is good Mary is very condescending. She's just not worth the hassle of having to find a time that she might be in a good mood, sign in, stand outside, wait for her to signal, and hope to god she doesn't notice sweat, or grease on your face so that she doesn't offer unsolicited advice in the most condescending way possible. No thanks. While this business is closer to my home, I drive out of my way to another place in 4S Ranch called Grace Threading. They are always available, don't have weird hours or rules for their business, are gentle and most importantly, they are kind. Go here if you like a side of insult with your perfectly curated brows. I've been going here for a year now, and after today I won't be going back.... Even with having one more free brow wax on my card.. who they allow to work there says a lot, and whoever the Hispanic lady working today was, was completely rude and out of line. I brought my 3 year old with me today, and she was talking a lot. Another patron was there waiting to get their service done, and my daughter was talking to her. She showed the other patron how she got her nails done, and the girl said who did them, my daughter joked and said you. The lady doing my brows laughed and said "oh probably because she looks like the people who do nails" (mentioning her eyes and how Asians looks similar). She straight up told and asked the girl if she was Filipino because most of the people who did nails are. During my short time there she asked if I had more kids, I said no I am one and done. She said "oh well sometimes it's easier with two, they can entertain and talk to each other". I laughed thinking nothing of it. When I was getting ready to pay and leave she made a comment "don't be lazy, have another one", referring to a kid. I was so shocked, my reply was "no thank you, I work full time and go to school, I don't need another one, she's fine being an only child". Who even says something like that? Rude and unprofessional.... I won't be returning, and hopefully this yelp helps others make a decision to go elsewhere. read more
