Chicken Tortilla Soup & Trópico Salad
Marissa C.

This vibrant Mexican-style kitchen and tequila bar has been around for a few years now at this location, so it was nice to finally get to taste test what their menu has to offer. Inside is pretty spacious with a nice bar and they even have a patio if you want to dine with your doggy This place makes a good spot to catch a game at the bar or do group dinners! They have other cool specials throughout the week too: * Happy Hour (mon-thurs) from 3-6pm * Weekend Brunch (sat/sun) from 11am-3pm * Taco Tues Special $22 (3 tacos, rice, beans, and a beverage) every Tuesday What we ordered: * Chips & Guac * Ceviche * Elotes (highly recommend!) * Chicken Tortilla Soup & Trópico Salad * Carne Asada Tacos * Salmon a la Plancha * Churros & Caramel Sauce * Paloma

More like Mas Disappointment & Mas Overpriced. Our friends decided to come try this place after craving for tacos. They have a large venue so was able to seat the 8 of us fairly quickly. We ordered the Queso Fundido to share as appetizer. My husband ordered the enchiladas and I got grilled baha fish tacos. When the queso fundido came out, we were all pleasantly surprised at the bubbling cheese and the chips. However, when our entrees came, most of us were disappointed. For one, for the price the dishes, the portions were quite small (and an extra 4 little tortillas costed $5!). For those of us who ordered tacos, we were all surprised at the number of tacos that came out and the quality of the tacos. On the menu, it clearly states that 'tacos come in 3'. What they failed to mention is that only some tacos come in 3s, like the street tacos. And if it comes in 3s, the portions are also much smaller (about the size of a small fist). Additionally, the protein in the tacos were all overcooked and very sparse. While the service was good and our waiter was courteous, if you're looking for quality Mexican food priced reasonably, this is not the place to come.

My friend and I stopped by mas fuego, thinking it was be your standard chain restaurant quality but were blown away by the food quality. First of all, the drinks are STRONG. Definitely got my moneys worth there! We both loved the birria tacos, Elote corn ribs and corn tortilla soup. We thought that they were absolute stars with the intensity of flavor. We both devoured these so quickly. I also loved the ceviche personally. There was a generous amount of meat and the seasoning on the chips was so addictive. My bestie loved the salad and found it refreshing and bright. The salmon was decent but didn't stand out amongst a sea of stars. The carne asada was a miss for both of us as the meat felt a bit dry and lacked the punch the other items did. Service was so sweet and apologetic that their AC was unfortunately broken on the hottest day of the month. They tried their best to be prompt and I appreciated that! I really enjoyed the interior as they attempted to add Mexican imagery and art. Such a vibe. Overall, we can't wait to be back!

First time here Came here on a whim, we walked in and the venue was pretty much to ourselves lol I think there was just one other table with customers Decor is a vibe There is a full bar and a lot of available seating Customer service was friendly Food is decent Salsa could be better more authentic (If you follow me you know already I'm a total salsa person) Prices are reasonable If you check in on Yelp you get a Yelp Perk Tres leches I would definitely come and try this spot for HH Customer service was friendly but kinda slow considering we were the only ones in the restaurant We had to walk up and grab an employee attention so we could pay

We visited Mas Fuego yesterday (a Sunday) for lunch with my in laws. The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived. Which is why we found it odd that we were basically being ignored by our server. We waited, looking around for someone to not only take our order, but to also provide us with some water. The food also took awhile to come out. Again, odd since the place was empty. My partner and I ordered fajitas, him carnitas and me shrimp. They got his order wrong but since everything was taking so long, he just decided to keep what he got. My mother in law ordered the birria tacos which were slightly bland. I felt birria needed more flavor. The steak that came with my fajitas was flavorful but the meat was kind of tough. We ordered calamari for an appetizer and that was very good. Had a little bit of a kick to it. Spicy but not overdone. I would return. Maybe we just came on an off day? Who knows.

Had a wonderful lunch here with my friend back in March. Review is much overdue. The food is so authentic and fresh. The chips, the guacamole- the best! We shared everything.... The fajitas were truly the best I've had in the area! Definitely try this place!!

We decided to give it another opportunity and I have to tell they improved!! I'm very happy to said this because is a very nice mexican place and today the service and food were too much better than the last time. We ordered the queso fundido that it has a very good touch: poblano pepper! Veeery tasted. Our first drinks were good enough and the second were perfectly balanced with flavor and quantity of alcohol. The service was good, I gave them only 4 stars because the menu is very limited but, definetely very happy to update my review and recommend this place :)

Vegetable fajitas with portobello mushrooms

What a fun and vibrant restaurant! The music makes me want to dance, and I always enjoy the food! Service is friendly and attentive. We came on Cinco de Mayo ($5 beers/shots, $5 salsa trio) and were celebrating a birthday. Yelp checkin came with lemon tres leche cake-- which was a delightful treat! The chips are cooked well and seasoned well. The salsas will disappear before your eyes-- so good. Be sure to order full size guacamole (the "side" of guacamole did not have a freshly made consistency). As a vegetarian, there are options for the chef special corn rib (beautifully seasoned), gobi tacos but I went with veg fajitas + portobello mushrooms-- Because who doesn't love a sizzling hot plate, full of colorful enticing veggies?? Which came with a side of rice, beans, & tortillas. I liked topping it with guacamole, salsas, and the corn rib aioli-- but keep in mind these all were from separate dishes. Overall, the menu continues to change over the years-- there are vegetarian options, but otherwise the waitstaff suggested items from which they could subtract the meat, but the problem is they still charge for the meat they're not giving you (for example I ordered the carne asada fajitas but vegetarian -- and the price was the same. It would be helpful if they had a vegetarian section on the menu. Either way-- the fun vibe keeps us coming back for birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine's, and when guests are in town. Large parties are welcome. There is plenty of parking in the plaza. And there is outdoor seating but the heaters have been non-functioning for some time.

We stopped by on a weeknight and got seated right away. The decor and interior was very spacious and welcoming. It really wasn't that busy so I was pretty surprised that I had to keep flagging down the waiter for our order and some requests we had. I ordered the 3 Cauliflower Street Tacos and to be honest, they were tiny for $22 and tasted a little bland. I found myself dousing them in the salsas for taste. We also ordered the Veggie Burrito which was also a little bland. It barely had any veggies in it and mostly was black beans and rice. I liked the Nacho Platter and the side of Yuka Fries. I was looking forward to ordering the churros but the waiter told us they had run out of them so we weren't able to order them. The salsa was watery, the food wasn't that exciting, and the portions were small for what the bill came out to be. Overall, I don't think I'll be back except maybe to try their churros if they have them.

This is a decent place with good food. I've been here 3 times now, the first time by choice the last 2 times another chose & I couldn't remember I'd been until I saw/got here. We came for drinks and a bite to eat, weren't looking to "eat eat", but ended up eating each time. It was easy to get seated. Every-time has been the same...its ok, takes awhile to get the order and its pricey all things considered. I'd say this is a place to gather, have drinks with friends and grab some food because of the ambiance and TVs. They have really good/friendly service, the place looks good, and the food is pretty decent. This feels more made to be social & it looks great, but I for sure have my goto spots for Mexican food. Cheers, but I don't think I'll be back.

Chips for House Ceviche

Came in on a quiet Friday night to no wait time. We were sat right away and waters provided a few minutes later. The server didn't come to the table for some time but once she was there she took out entire order. The food came out within minutes even faster than the drink from the bar. We ordered the Elote appetizer, house ceviche, and the grilled chicken fajitas (add steak). Elote ($9) was great wish there was more of it but it had really good char on it and seasoning. Too much TAJIN for my husband but I thought it was great. The house ceviche was not nearly enough for a dinner. They give you house made tortilla chips that were great but they give you so much for no reason at all. I had to pick at my husbands food to fill up after my "dinner". Taste was good but leaves you wanting more. Chicken fajitas (plus steak) tasted really good. The steak in particular my husband loved. This comes with rice and beans, unfortunately, these were not good. Not sure how you can mess up Mexican rice but they did! All and all we were not impressed by the service (server specifically) and the food was ok nothing outstanding that we would come back for.

My friends and I came here to grab some dinner on a weeknight. One of us had a dog, so they were able to seat us outside, which was nice. At the time we went, there were any heat lamps, so we were freezing by nighttime. I'd keep that in mind if you're going to bring pets/prefer to sit outside. The consensus was that the food was fairly solid but overpriced. We also ordered margaritas that felt more on the sugary end, so we ended up just ordering straight tequila. Service was a super slow, and it felt a little difficult to flag out waiter since we were outside. I'd probably just request indoor seating next time for an easier ordering experience.

Old fashioned and Bees Knees (this one was a little too sweet, but still good)
Suzette Z.

I love coming here for cocktails and a quick bite to eat at the bar. But they made some changes to the menu (I think) The taquitos were ginormous (not tasty) and the guacamole was a dark brown (that didn't seem fresh to me), the Elote was very good and I love all the seasoning they put on it. The Birria is good but really needed a dipping sauce (otherwise it's just an oily taco. I'm giving it 4 stars because the service is so good. They are very attentive and the bartenders are amazing.

I've seen paint dry, glaciers melt, and toddlers grow up faster than our food arrived. When it finally did show up, the "katsu fish and chips" looked like someone raided last night's sashimi scraps, dunked them in a fryer, and hoped for the best. The portion was so tiny I wasn't sure if it was an appetizer or a prank. Flavor? Let's just say "questionable" is doing heavy lifting here. And because nothing says "classic fish and chips" like an identity crisis, it came with a chopped fruit salad. Bold choice. If you have kids, bring your own booster seat. Or a booster seat for your expectations. They don't have any high chairs, and apparently never thought anyone under 30 might try to dine there. The place was empty--like "abandoned warehouse" empty. Which raises the real question: how does this place stay in business? I'm convinced it's a front. For what, I don't know, but definitely not good food or service. In conclusion: if you want slow service, tiny weird fish, and fruit with your fried seafood while sitting in a restaurant that feels like a set for a crime drama, this is absolutely your spot.
