We had a great experience at Ma's Place - If I had to describe Ma's, i would say its homey and nostalgic. They have both a classic diner area and a bar area. I loved that they have old-school coin machines up front for little knick knacks - haven't seen those in forever! The food was great and super filling - We ordered a few breakfast combos and everything was cooked perfectly to order. Honestly, these were the best eggs I've ever eaten at out - just soft-scrambled and not overcooked at all. The hash browns were also nice and crispy without being overdone. Been a while since we were at Ma's and we came for late breakfast. Looks the same inside but hours are now 7:30am to 2pm. My wife had the Eggs Benedict with potatoes, and I had the Hobo Hash. Also got 2 coffees and a Monte Crisco sandwich to go. Our waitress Kaylee was great and kept our coffees refilled. When our meals came they were huge. Both tasted great and we could only finish half of them each. Really enjoyed our breakfast and hope they open up for dinner again by expanding their hours. read more

Never heard of this place had a bad experience at another restaurant looked on yelp and found this place. Walked in was greeted by Dawn and made to feel like we were home. I'm serious when I tell you that. We also like the fact that both the wife and I could get out of there with coffee and breakfast for under 35 bucks that's unheard of these days. Wack energy. From start to finish. Apparently my husband, who has a TBI, was sliding his slippers off and putting his foot on top of the shoe and the cook came out and LOUDLY declared he is not to do that. in the middle of our meal. Found this place while out shopping & decided to give it a try. Average patron age inside was about 72. The Good: Prices. Can't beat 12$ for a plate. 4$ coffee and 4$ bacon and I made it out for 20$+tip. Everything was cheap, and their menu was short and sweet. You don't have to flip through a tri-fold map of 100 choices to find what you want. The Bad: Unfortunately, the food was sub-par. I got the Benedict, because that's how I rate breakfast places. Came with hash browns. I got a side of bacon as well. The hollandaise was straight from the warmer and clumpy, ham was okay, and English muffin didn't seem toasted, which makes it very hard to cut apart. The eggs were on par. A small portion of hash browns. The bacon was spot on, not too crispy and not too rubbery. The coffee was watery with no kick. The Ugly: Cleanliness. My Moms place wouldn't have looked like this. At one point I was contemplating canceling my food and leaving. I sat at the bar which has a partial view of the cooks and kitchen. Beside the waitress (not mine) who was obviously sick and hacking every 5 minutes, I saw a guy sitting with his butt in the cooler for about 3 minutes to cool off I can only assume. The grime and dust bunnies on the wall and floor and hood vent and food station were all very visible. Just screams laziness by staff of ownership to let it fall so far behind. This place! So I was going to make homemade biscuits and gravy (yes, from scratch) this morning only to find that I was missing ingredients. UGH! So we Yelped and found this place. Parking lot was full, so that's a good sign. We walked through the front door and immediately were transported back to Grandma's house by the smells and the feel...in an awesome way. The hostess and our server, and the other ladies who checked on us during our meal were all awesome. The food was delicious and big portions. This restaurant has friendly waiters who make you feel right at home because they remember your order and you! Reasonable priced food as well. However, as the observant person I am, I find it uncomfortable that the cook sits outback to smoke a cigarette but Doesn't wash his hands when he comes back inside. I find it disgusting that some servers walk around with a mouthful of food, as they come from the back with MY plate of food. It was hard to choose between the hobo hash, country fried steak, and a few other dishes. But I went for the uniquely named one, and man it was good. It was a mix of everything scrambled, and it hit the spot. The server who welcomed us in was outstanding from the beginning. Didn't realize until the end that she was Korean.
