Great food. Great Service. Been coming to Dixie's for the last 15 years. My favorite is the Dad's potatoes. Today, the chicken fried steak was delicious and tender.

I will come right out and say, I generally don't stop at diners unless I've heard something great about their food. Anecdotally my experience with them is that they under season their food and are generally uninspiring. Taking my mother to breakfast while in Sumner this was the place to go on a 100-degree morning so she didn't have to wait outside in the heat. I ordered a breakfast of eggs, bacon hash browns and toast. I also got a of sausage gravy to help make the potatoes edible if they turned out flavorless. They must have been short staffed because the order came in pieces. By the time the gravy and toast made it the food was moving from warm to cool. The food itself. The only thing that made anything interesting was the sausage gravy. It wasn't just a country gravy with sausage, it had a hint of thyme which added a great flavor. However, the thyme got stuck in my teeth because they were like little hard slivers of herb. It might have been the bottom of the spice jar or put in late so it didn't have a chance to soften. While I generally do not like to give two stars, I really couldn't find anything to raise it 3 stars and don't plan on going back!

Oh and they have apple butter.

Good food, good people and good music. Our second trip for breakfast and it was perfect. Try dad's potatoes, perfectly cooked with very little salt. If you like bacon order that too. I wanted the cinnamon roll but life has me avoiding that sort of goodness. I loved the breakfast! No pictures because you need to experience it yourself.

It's my first time in but my second time eating their food. So far, food is decent, good portions, good flavors. It sucked sitting facing the windows because the sun burned my damn retinas. The wait staff was nice but real snippy. We came in like 1.5 hours before closing so maybe that was a part of it, idk.

    There was a Hangover Bowl

Yummy food. Service was good. Very nice waiter. Arnold Palmer was good. Offers a variety of hot sauces. Ambiance is cozy and delicious. Very nice diner. Overall 5 stars :)

Flavors on both dishes were complemented with the various garnish (sweet grape tomatoes for instance with the crab cakes and pickled red onion on the dip). For our Entrees I got the seafood chowder (so fresh and the broth was delicious like butter) and he got the steak sandwich on focaccia. We both "ummmm'd" all the way through the meal. We joined the online waitlist at 1:00 PM on a Sunday. While we were seated fairly quickly, we still had to wait in a long line just to speak with the host to check in. The restaurant was completely packed well past 2:00 PM. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill once we sat down. It took forever just to place our order. Our chowder arrived about 10 minutes later, but it tasted like it came straight out of a can, and the accompanying dinner roll was completely flavorless and factory-made. Since we were hungry, we ate it quickly anyway. It took 45 minutes for our entrees--a Country Fried Steak and a California Benedict--to arrive. By 3:00 PM, we were famished, which made it all the more disappointing to discover our food was cold, soggy, and hard. The cubed fries, scrambled eggs, and English muffin tasted like they had been sitting on a counter for 20 minutes before being brought to our table. For a restaurant advertising a "farm-to-table" concept, the eggs, salad, croutons, and muffin felt entirely mass-produced. The service was equally disappointing; our server never returned to refill our water. While the atmosphere is nice and the space is large enough to fit over 100 people, they seemed severely understaffed. The host stand was backed up, it took too long to order, and the kitchen was clearly overwhelmed. For $23 a plate, I expect significantly better quality in both the food and the service.

First time trying the brunch after many dinner visits…read more Started with cocktails and both were really good. The Greenhouse Bloody Mary was lighter and fresher than a typical Bloody, made with an in-house clarified celery juice base that gave it a really bright flavor. We also tried the Rhubarb Sunrise with rhubarb purée and vodka, simple, refreshing, and super easy to drink. We started with the crab cocktail: chilled crab leg meat over ice with lemon and cocktail sauce. Really fresh and simple in the best way. The salad ended up being one of our favorite things we ordered. Fresh greens, snap peas, pistachios, feta, mint, dill, and a grilled lemon vinaigrette. Super refreshing and kind of addictive. The server did a great job with the timing of the food which is always appreciated, so you don't feel rushed. We split the pork belly benedict and it was excellent, rich smoky pork belly, perfectly poached eggs, and a really solid hollandaise. The potatoes were crispy and nicely seasoned too. The French toast was ridiculously good. Thick-cut with a crunchy caramelized outside and soft custardy center, topped with strawberry-rhubarb and fresh whipped cream. Sweet but not too heavy because the rhubarb balanced everything out. By the time 11:00 rolled around the restaurant started to fill up, if you want to come when they open at 10 you could probably get in without a reservation or sit at the bar. The outdoor patio was also open and looked nice. Finished with a michelada made with pilsner, vodka, Bloody Mary mix, and a shrimp garnish. Awesome food and cocktails like always from Oxbow. Definitely coming back for brunch with family and friends.

I love crispy fries. So good! The house made pickles are delicious. You should try them! My dinner partner had the Fajita Board which they thoroughly enjoyed (I could tell because they were busy eating and not talking - hah ha ha haha ha!). They said it was spicy but not overly so and very flavorful. Hmm, I'm going to have to try that.next visit! What an awesome dinner. Oxbow has come so far since we first came out when they started. I enjoyed the menu, drinks and food and the staff are gracious, let us know what is popular and genuinely want you to enjoy your visit and you can tell that is easy for them! A quick search found Fika, very promising ratings and I'm partial to Swedish baked goods since I spend time in Sweden every year. Fika is located inside Farm12, a huge complex that even contains a school so, why not a coffee shop? When I arrived, the line was a good 30 feet out the door. Even more promising. After 20 minutes, I made it inside and got to look at the extensive selection of pastries and more. All of them looked pretty good though the only nod to Swedish baking was a cardamom bun (and one tart that also contained cardamom). The rest were standard baked goods and a few specialties for the month. Counter staff (Finn) was very helpful. I ordered a Farm12 mocha, almond croissant, and the aforementioned cardamom bun. The mocha was well made, perfect temp, and tasty. The cardamom bun dough was underproofed, dense, and gummy. Good flavor and looks. Almond croissant was buttery and flaky like you'd expect. I personally prefer my almond filling added after baking as it doesn't moisten the inside as much. Overall, this is a good addition to the area, nice people, seems well run, and handy if at the nearby park and trail. Just don't go in thinking Swedish in any way.

The maple grown sugar had a much bigger air pocket compared to the strawberry where the pastry was pretty flush to the jam inside. Both had great flavor. I couldn't tell you which I preferred since they're so different. I also got a morning bun which was a little hard when not warmed up. It had a little citrus flavor to it. Service was quick for ordering the pastries and no drink. I did come in when there want a line so that definitely helped in the wait time.
