Breakfast time on a Monday; Greeted and seated quickly. Server was prompt to take our orders. They were polite and friendly. A server that seemed to enjoy their job!! The food came out hot and fresh! Real food!!! We all agreed that our various meals were good and the portions were generous but not overwhelming. For me, one standout was the sausage gravy I got as a side for my potatoes!!! Guys, this gravy was the real deal!!' My southern granny taught me how to make gravy so I KNOW good gravy and this amazing! The restaurant was clean, decor was your basic country/train decor which was fine. Soft country music at the perfect volume: ie we could hear it and still hear our conversations. Easily one of the best restaurants in all of Puyallup (and the state of WA!). If you're looking for hearty comfort food then this is the place to be. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a late breakfast and had a fantastic meal. Eggs, breakfast potatoes, sourdough toast, and to top it off-lemon blueberry French toast. Seriously, YUM! Stopped by here on a Friday morning. I shared breakfast with a fiend. With had the pig and peanut butter French toast.I didn't have much hope for the meal. However. It was delicious. The sweet from the peanut butter and the maple syrup mixed with the salty from the bacon and crunch of the bacon was delicious. I'd come back just for this. Our service was wonderful! The food was alright. It took a long time to get our meals. My pancakes came out lukewarm but my Fiancé's meal was hot. Very casual environment with a country feel. The food was good. The service could be better. Our server barely check up on us, to refill coffee or see if we needed anything. By the time she checked on us, we no longer wanted jam for our toast. Ambiance was loud. All you can hear was people talking. I had the blueberry lemon French toast and my husband had a Denver omelette. The blueberry lemon French toast smelled really yummy, but in my opinion too sweet for me. I could only eat 1. Bacon was really good and hash browns was ok. My hubby said his omelette was good, but they could have used one more egg. Coffee was decent and cup of fruit had more grapes then melon. First time trying TK at any of the 4 locations. Celebrating their 13th birthday they are offering "retro" specials so when going nearby we stopped in for the breakfast special. First impression the place inside felt cold, lacking any ambiance or vibe. I expected a warm cozy diner with possibly the train theme. There is a train in a portion of the dining area up below the ceiling. I noticed a booth had ripped up seat cushion, tacky. Ok let's get to the food & service. We appreciate good coffee, since most places charge $3-4, I've learned to take a sip of my hubby's before ordering my own. I did that here and glad I did, not good. Why are breakfast houses not using quality coffee yet charging like it is?? We both ordered the $5 special, we've cut back on our intake so we knew it should be fine. The server took a while to get our waters and one coffee but after that she was good on service although forgot my addition of gravy and hubby asking for A-1, but she was pleasant and made sure our hash browns were extra crisp! Didn't take too long to get our meals, as the place was picking up. Always appreciate hot food, eggs cooked perfectly, the extra crisp hash, decent sausage/bacon, and the toast was toast. Overall obviously a great value for this special offer. We'd go back actually at the regular $7 price. Like to try some other meal specials as well. Was a bit surprised at the cost of the mimosas and Bloody Mary $8-10. For such a casual place I expected the mimosas to be $5-6 and BM maybe $6-8 following suit with other places in this category. We stopped here on a chance after being dissatisfied or disappointed at other breakfast places. We try to avoid the commercial places, so Ihop, don't get upset. If you have read some of my past reviews, you know, I dislike poor customer service, slow service, and chefs that put their fingers in the food and then wipe their hands on their pants. Tim's was excellent. We walked in and receded in just a few moments, even though it was still very busy. Nearly every seat was taken in the place, but our waitress still had time to come get us, coffee, grab our order, and then very shortly after the meal showed up. I'm not going to spend some tail about seeing angels and bright flashes of color. When I ate the food, it was hearty, it was plenty, and it was tasty. It's what you would expect for a good breakfast place, but the kind of place you find in small town. We were at this location 6/28/24. We have been to the Orting location and found it a great spot. Good food and service. We had passed this location many times and we just didn't stop. We did yesterday evening for dinner. BIG, BIG, BIG, MISTAKE. Did I mention BIG MISTAKE? We arrived 5:45/6pm, it was not overly crowded and were seated immediately. We were greeted by a lady who immediately announced her name and then quickly announced "I AM IN TRAINING!". Kinda odd as though she were already prepping us for poor service. We gave our drink order and another server came over and the 1st server said in a loud voice "THIS IS MY TRAINER". They left and we waited and waited and waited. Did I mention we waited, for their return. Once the "In Training" server came back we ordered. I get she was "In Training" but to ask the guest to see the menu so she could write the order was a bit awkward and odd in my opinion. She finished and then took the other tables order. Now comes the next "Not so fun parts". It took almost what was a good 30-40min to get our food. And the table who placed their order after us got theirs first. Then we were missing a biscuit. That came 5min later. That hockey puck was burnt and hard. My Club sandwich was dry and watered down. Yes it can't be both. But it can if the toast was over done and the lettuce was dripping in water. Funny at this point no follow up visit no sir's and madam's not one return. Finally the server returned and we showed the biscuit. They took it back and another 5min passed before we got the replacement. This was a horrible experience and we will not be back sorry. We ordered the fried chicken dinner with mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese and a biscuit, children's pancake breakfast and the NY steak and eggs. The fried chicken was so juicy and crunchy. The biscuit that came with this meal was pillowy soft on the inside and with the honey butter *chefs kiss*. The sides (mash and Mac n cheese) we didn't care for as much but the chicken and biscuit alone were scrumptious. The NY steak was cooked to perfection. It had a nice char but the meat was tender. The hashbrowns were just how I like it. A light crisp on the outside but soft on the inside. My daughter loved her Mickey Mouse shaped pancake. The interior has these cool antique trains on a track that travels overhead. There is a large dining room with tables in the middle and booths on either side as well as tables up on a higher platform dining area which gives more privacy. Our server was super sweet. She was a young blonde woman and when I told her we needed to leave right away due to a family emergency so we needed all of our meals to-go she didn't mind at all and was very kind throughout the process. There is a decent amount of parking out front. Yes, Tim's has greasy spoon options, and they're yummy and fattening. AND they have some healthier, lighter, non belly-busting meals as well. Instead of one whole hash brown patty, there was only half of a hash brown patty. Someone had also thrown together jams and jellies in a separate container. The whole order was wrong.
