Delicious! I got the butter chicken, hot level spice and it had a good cake, but didn't make it hard to eat. It was super flavorful and they give a good amount of chicken and curry as well. I definitely was able to split it into two meals and loved it both times. The garlic naan was also pretty good as well. Nothing too crazy but also nothing to complain about either. The mango lassi was delicious. I got my food to go and ended up drinking more than half a that before I even made it home sadly. I would say this place is very comparable to homemade Indian food! 5/5 for sure read more

The food is absolutely terrible. I also got this takeout order to go and they didn't include any napkins so ended up with a mess of food I couldn't eat in my car. I really don't trust the food hygiene practices here, based not just on the absolutely careless presentation and wrapping of the food, but also due to the cultural standards of this Nepalese establishment. While I'm waiting inside, one can very much hear constant noises from the kitchen like constant and extremely loud, vigorous pounding and other noises you'd maybe expect to hear at a butchery rather than inside a restaurant filled with tables for diners. The staff isn't elevated to the standard of Huntington Beach in my opinion either, they're more running their culture in the midst of HB. It's just so disappointing when one can't trust the food to be safe, if there's ever a serious doubt, I always choose to eat as much as I'd consider within the threshold of safety. I've had much better Indian food in Hawaii in a place called Spice Up. In fact, Spice Up and Himalayan Kitchen in Hawaii are better than any of the Indian places I've tried so far in SoCal. It's too authentic here and I don't trust the hygiene, especially after reading past food safety reports for a given establishment. Response to Sal's comment on my review: - Not finding the cleanliness of your packaging and quality of your food up to my own expectations doesn't mean that I harbor hate, it means that I was surprised by the food, presentation, and experience given the very high ratings you have here on Yelp, and not in a good way, unfortunately. I appreciate that you are doing business as a restaurant owner because I know it's not easy and is a lot of continuous hard work, but the wrapper for the burrito was a disgusting mess before I even fully opened it and the samosa chaat was extremely watered down. The chicken didn't taste good. I've never been to a restaurant other than yours where a diner would hear such loud, alarming sounds continuously and be expected to enjoy their meal. Am I supposed to check to see if you gave me napkins with my takeout order before I leave your restaurant? I think it's much easier to just include a napkin or two with each takeout order. It's been hard to find an authentic Indian restaurant that makes the perfect Chicken Tikki Masala! All portions were sharable and I loved the spinach naan dip. The texture and flavor of the Indian cheese was incredible. The chicken tikki masala was amazing. So buttery and tender! Our server was so so nice and sweet. I went on a Sunday night and got sat right away. It's pretty spacious with a good amount of tables available. There was a good amount of parking available as well! The food was so good! The portions don't look huge but it's very filling. My friend and I shared a spinach naan, chicken tikka masala, and a mango lassi and we had leftovers. The spinach naan was so so good! It was soft but stuffed with a spinach and cheese filling. It came with a sweet mint sauce which made it refreshing and you just want to keep eating it. We dipped it in the chicken tikka masala and that was good too! We got medium spicy for the chicken tikka masala and in our opinions it was just a small kick of spice (but we can both eat spicy). The chicken on its own can be slightly dry but if you break it up smaller and mix it with the sauce it's still really good! Wow. I've seen this place on TikTok before but had a chance to visit it this week and it was great! Servers were attentive and recommended some pretty cool stuff. I love trying me some fusion or unsung cuisines, so when my friend invited me to try some Nepalese you know I had to tap in. We walked into a beautiful wooden restaurant, proudly decorated with cultural art and lined with flags, then were sat and served by very friendly staff. For the food we got the chicken momo dumplings, tandoori fish, lamb biryani, garlic naan, and rounded off with a refreshing mango lassi. Each and every dish was a hit, boldly flavored, yet balanced. Seems a little busy at night so I recommend coming earlier. It's a nice restaurant in HB meant for more casual dining. Okay seating and wait isn't too long. The people working are very helpful and nice. Food is also pretty good. If you have ever had Trader Joe's tikka masala and liked it, you should try this place. Their tikka masala hot is so good. Spice could definitely be amped up more as we got hot and it wasn't that hot. Their naan is so good so I definitely recommend. Overall would be back and try different items. read more

Hands down my favorite Indian Restaurant in Orange County. They just don't miss. Dupesh is great with the suggestions from the Menu and is a credit to the Restaurant. This just wasn't it. Was craving Indian food, so I ordered chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and cheese naan. Cheese naan was cheesy and arguably the best thing of the 3. The chicken tikka masala just didn't taste right. Very tomato and jalapeño forward, and it just didn't taste like any other masala I had. I wish I had taken more pictures but eating it at home just doesn't do the restaurant justice as we always dig in to Masala Waves food and devour it QUICKLY! The food here is amazing. Flavors are on point and even though we usually take out, the service is always top notch. Everyone is friendly especially the owner Sal who goes out of his way to make an incredible experience both inside the restaurant and when we take it to go. Bonus for us vegans that the options are incredible. Many of the veggie dishes can be made vegan if they aren't already and it is very easy to approach them with questions. There is no loss of flavor or skimping on ingredients like some restaurants that offer "vegan options." We also have gluten sensitive children and we have never had an issue. They know what is safe and what is not when we ask. Our usual order consists of the Bharta, Veg Madras and Roti (and/or samosas) and we are never disappointed. Sufficient amounts of rice are provided for each dish. My son (our non-vegan in the family) loves the chicken tikka masala pizza. He actually craves it. He usually ends up with a Mango Lassi as well. The decor and environment inside are very nice. It has a comfortable ambiance without feeling stuffy or extravagant. A nice nod to the culture and quite welcoming. As a fellow small business owner, I look for businesses that have a passion for what they do and I truly appreciate the care and genuine attention to details. They care about their diners and I never leave there without a smile and a very good feeling. I can simply mention "Masala Waves" to my family and everyone is a resounding YES. 3.5 stars Inside, Masala Waves is absolute vibe. The decor is actually so much fun. My mistake was asking our waiter for recs despite having a general idea of which dishes I wanted to try. He had good intentions, but suggested popular menu items which are more intended for someone new-ish to this type of cuisine. Per his suggestion, we ordered the spinach dip naan ($9) which is much like a spinach quesadilla in naan form. Fine? But the Nepali momo chili chicken ($13) was much better starter. The chicken and veggies are seasoned with specific spices making them distinctly Nepali. Dipped in the creamy tomato sauce, it was the perfect bite. We also ordered the tandoori salmon ($20). The salmon is grilled in a traditional tandoori marinade served with basmati rice and grilled veggies. This was a lot more saucier than anticipated, however, I felt like the sauce didn't really add much to the flavor of the dish. We were served broccolini as our veggies, which was fine, but it just Americanized the whole dish. Idk. I'd much rather order the chicken sequwa next time. I also felt that the flavor of the chicken tikka masala was much more muted than usual. There were no huge grievances with our meal. I tried my best to like this place, but to be honest I'm not a big fan. Probably because I ordered butter chicken, which is okay. The spice is there, but there was almost no flavor on the curry. The quality of butter chicken is similar to lunch buffet for restaurant prices. However, the service was great and the I do love their unique environment. Maybe I should try their specialities instead of butter chicken. I heard that their thali is good. However, I would have to give butter chicken a 2.5/5 due to lack of flavor and portion. Some of the NICEST service I've ever experienced. All the servers were extremely kind and the food was delicious. I got the lamb curry and the paneer tikka masala. Spice level 3 for the lamb curry was not spicy at all fyi (at least for me). It tasted very mild and they have you choose your level 1-5. The lamb was succulent and tasty. The tikka masala tomato sauce was soooo yummy too. Also I never review bathrooms at restaurants, but thought this one was really thoughtful for having an assortment of feminine supplies in the stall. The fish was perfectly cooked tender and packed with smoky spices and the samosa chaat had the perfect balance of crispy tangy and comforting. The mango lassi was so refreshing and creamy easily one of the best I've had. The chicken biryani truly stole my heart. It honestly reminds me of my mom's cooking. The person who sat us was really nice and welcoming. We ordered the chicken tikka fries, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. For two people, this was more than enough, and we ended up taking leftovers. Everything was really good and flavorful, and wasn't too pricy (maybe $40ish if I remember correctly after tax + tip). My only complaint would be that the only time a server came to us was to bring us food. I called ahead for pickup and when I came they were exact on their timing, and the guy also gave us 2 free mango lasis which was so sweet, the drink was creamy but also kind of like a yogurt.
