So glad we found this place! Amazing, unique, and delicious food and drink, comfortable seating with upbeat music, and friendly service. We tried the Beruk beef and loved it. Watch out, it's crispy and hot! Even after 10 minutes, the beef inside is still hot. Amazing. The Lamb sandwich was also excellent, it's not your everyday American sandwich, special bread that's size of my wife's face. Inside, with generous amount of high quality lamb, deliciously combined with vegetables, and it came with a salad! The Dzezva coffee was excellent as well. Located in a shopping plaza. With plenty of free parking. I ordered the cevapi small meal, which came with 5 cevaps, lepinja bread, raw white onions, cabbage salad, kajmak, and ajvar. The halal cevapi were juicy, well seasoned, and cooked perfectly. The lepinja bread was soft and warm, great for building bites. Adding the raw onions gave it a nice sharp contrast, and the cabbage salad was fresh and light, which balanced everything out really well. The kajmak was creamy and rich, and the ajvar had that slightly smoky, peppery flavor that tied everything together. Simple ingredients, but everything worked exactly how it should. I LOVE the ćevapi and pizza at this place. The ćevapi are some of the best, hands down, outside of Bosnia. (And I'm Bosnian so that says a lot!) They are consistently good, too! I've never been disappointed with them. The pizza is also amazing. It has a really good crispy dough and they have suho meso (smoked meat) as a topping which you honestly can't get anywhere else. The pita (burek and cheese phyllo wrapped savory pastry) is underwhelming, though. I wish they made their own dough for these. It makes a world of difference. The phyllo dough makes it very inauthentic, and is always doughey and undercooked towards the center. That is definitely taking a shortcut with pita and I wouldn't recommend that. Another downside is how dirty the bathroom usually is. They really need to have a better cleaning schedule here. This is a big turn off. Other than that, service is good and the usuals are consistently tasty so I will keep coming back for it. Oh, and everything is HALAL! So, a big win there! read more

Came here for dinner and ordered a bunch of things to share. Cevapi -- delicious. I added all the condiments. I wanted a garlic component to it, like a sauce, so I added that to my leftovers and it was very tasty. The salad we ordered was also tasty. It was the Mediterranean salad. Great casual dinner spot. Went for dinner with some guys and i was excited to try halal Bosnian food for the first time. Overall the meal and experience were excellent. My friends are picky about their meat and the flavor in the Cevapi (Bosnian mini kabobs/sausage) was impressive to all of us and the bread with it was also fresh baked - this is the one dish to definitely try. We also had the Sofra Urbana Pizza and the beef prosciutto on this was also delicious. The Erko pizza and chicken wings we had were also good. Restaurant was clean and the owner was very friendly and kept the place open a little late since we were a larger group so we could enjoy and finish our meal. The meat was really hot and not too chewy, but I wasn't too impressed with the bread, since it tasted a bit on the cold/"lukewarm" side, but the pickled veggies and onions were the BOMB!! I've had this dish in Croatia before, and somehow it was just as delicious--if not even better--right here. This Bosnian/Albanian restaurant serves something you've never heard of but need to try: cevapi (pronounced chevapi) What I can only describe as explosively flavorful mini Kabobs, served in fresh baked warm bread, accompanied by a side of a mayonnaise like cream sauce with a non-spicy tomato salsa, cilantro, and red onions. The kebabs himself taste like a combination of ground beef, spices, and I suspected cilantro . The only thing missing was a little bit of spice, but I'm sure on my next visit. I can ask for a little pepper sauce. This is such a satisfying dish that I am willing to pay nearly $20 for the larger 10 piece cevapi sandwich. I love trying foods from different cultures. I stumbled upon this place while browsing Postmates. The first thing I saw was a beautiful picture of these little sausages with fresh slices onion and bread and knew I had to order that. Those are 3 of my favorite things! It's called Cevapi. The price seemed a little high, but things are getting expensive lately and I figured what the heck. Upon receiving my order I was disappointed. The sausages looked like burnt, frozen Farmer Johns breakfast sausages only not as flavorful. The bread was tough and the onions looked like the pre-diced onion you buy at th the grocery store you bought a week ago and forgot about. Kind of translucent and watery. The coleslaw looking stuff in the box looked aged as well. Thinking I'd love this dish I had ordered extra bread and sausages. Even though I ordered extras they gave no extra sauces. Just two of the tiniest dipping cups possible. The red sauce had a little kick to it and wasn't bad. But the white sauce had zero flavor. I looked it up and some sites said its comparable to clotted cream but I've had clotted cream when I took tea at Harrods and that stuff is delicious. The stuff served here is just bland. Maybe I caught them on an off night but I was severely disappointed and will not be going here again. read more

I've been meaning to try this Bosnian place after I saw my yf Arshad's review: That was 5 yrs ago. Better late than never! They serve items we would normally see at our local pizza place. Three of us shared a large Balkan pizza, a large cevapi (10 sausage sandwich) and 14 wings. First of all, the pizza was packed full of halal meats that had a lot of spices. I wouldn't say it was salty, but you definitely didn't need to add anything like crushed red peppers. Likewise, the cevapi was packed full of tasty sausages. The only downside was it was dry, even after adding both the garlic and tomato based sauces that came with the cevapi. Lastly, the wings were meaty and spicy as advertised. The food was so filling, I only ate half the cevapi, one slice of pizza, and two wings. I was stuffed! We had plenty of leftovers. I didn't pick up the food, so I can't speak to the ambiance. However, the food was supposed to take 20-25 min, but ended up taking 45 min so be prepared. The staff was nice and helpful in choosing items to sample the cuisine. I would definitely return when I am in the area (Magnolia & Warner in FV). I will dine in the next time so I can have a full experience. read more

We eat pizza here every time we are in HB. We all love the Hawaiian pizza, but anything you order here is delicious. Food takes longer to prep on weekends, it gets busy here, but it's worth it. You absolutely need to check out Sofra Urbana! I had never had Balkan food before, and was thoroughly impressed by the offerings they had. I got the meat burek and fries, which were both so flavorful. The closet thing I can think of to compare a burek to is lumpia, but even then you need to give it a try for yourself. The place is small and quaint, but going at lunch time on the weekend we were still able to grab a seat. The Burek is made to order, so it does take about 20 minutes, but trust me, it is well-worth the wait. read more

Instead of a Valentine's Day dinner, we went for lunch to Sofra Urbana. It had been on my list for a while and it was just time. Located in the Fountain Valley Shopping center at Warner and Magnolia near Aldi, we parked and found a table. Time to read the menu and pizza definitely looked amazing as another table were enjoying theirs. But on this visit we wanted to try something different. Mr. B started with a Bosnian Coffee. It was served in a special silver coffee service, with a box of a gel type candy on the side. I love how the Mediterranean countries make coffee feel like a special course in itself. It was pretty spectacular. Time to order, Mr. B went with the Spinach and Cheese Burek and I went with the Potato Burek. Both were incredible. The pastry resembles filo and may be filo, but the dishes are tubes of pastry filled with the filling of your choice and perfectly baked. The outside is nice and crispy while the inside is tender and bursting with flavor. The Potato Burek, I didn't expect so much flavor imparted into the potatoes, but they had incredible seasoning. We both expected to take half of them home, but no, we ate the entire thing and didn't regret a bite. One wall of the cafe has a traditional fabric lined bench seat with pillows. There are several tables and then a family style high table top. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, modern but with the fabrics and pillows it is cozy and comfortable. The staff was helpful, friendly and great to visit with. What a gem in our little town. We will absolutely be back! read more

1st time here, but definitely not the last time!! This small, quaint, clean and welcoming Balkan Cuisine was great!! The food was delicious (I was born in Jugoslavija (Srbija) and have eaten many Ćevapćići in my life and always thought my fathers was the tastiest and best, and now I found this spot where the Ćevaps are just as tasty as our family recipe... absolutely the best I have eaten in a very Very long time!! The atmosphere is also very clean, Service was very friendly from front desk to ownership being on hand to speak and be welcoming to guests. It was also nice to be seated and have the sounds of our Balkan folk music playing in the background and TV's with soccer games for those who like a little homeland sports visual.. As far as the food goes, my friend and I both ordered the small Ćevap plate (it tasted fresh, it was flavorful and portioned enough to really fill us up). We also ordered a side dish of the Cheese Burek and the Spinach Burek, both were good but not excellent, therefore I couldn't give a total of 5 stars (had I only ate the Ćevaps, a 5 star for sure). I would recommend and refer anyone to Sofra Urbana, as this place is terrific for that which I actually craved and came here for --- Ćevapćići... Came up from San Diego to try this place out. Growing up, I had a friend from Yugoslavia (Serbian) and I missed the flavors and dishes. When I found this place, I had to come up and try it. It brought back memories. :) The Cevapi, delicious. The ground beef, with the onions, the spread, and the lepenje, just nice. The Bureks were delightfully delicious. I wanted to order a few more but had watch myself lol. The Stuffed bellpepers with the lepinje/bread, hit home on the comfort foods. Nothing but good food and flavors that makes me love eating, discovering, and tasting food brought to Southern California and when it brings back memories, just the better! read more

Put this spot on your list. This is definitely a hidden gem and let me tell you.... The food is amazing. This is my second time here and everything that we have tried has been super good. The go to items to get here is the cevapi sandwich, the sofra urbana pizza, and the erko special pizza. The food is made fresh to order, amazing ingredients and super flavorful. Service is fast, the cevapi sandwich is to die for, and the pizzas are all brought to your table piping hot and oh so good. The people that work here including the owner are super friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and part of the family. Bathrooms are super clean as well cuz I know that there are some of you out there that dock a review based on that. The restaurant is on the cozy and small side with both indoor and outdoor seating. I appreciate the reply from the manager. My response to him is that the only time we actually dined in was the first visit and it was wonderful with zero complaints. The rest of the visits thereafter were take-outs. I had someone pick up our orders so there would have been no way for us to have known the state of the meat. We live rather far at least a good 35-45 minutes depending on traffic. There was no way we would drive back just to replace the meat, but it was okay because we still devoured the cevapis regardless. I really do love the taste. Also, we still gave the benefit of doubt and sent someone to pick up at least two more times. Will I still buy from Sofra again? Yes, but only if we're in the area to be able to enjoy our cevapis right away in-house. That way if there are any issues, we could address them right away while we're still there. Side note: I have recommended many people despite our take-out complaints. read more

On a beautiful sunny day, outdoor dining with your pup is not an easy find in OC. So when I found out that it's National taco day on Tuesday 10/02, I was all excited to head out but soon scraped that idea because the place I wanted to go doesn't allow dogs :( But all is not lost. Trifecta! I found the perfect restaurant for some serious good eats that treat me and my pup well! First of all, their food is truly amazing and hard to put into words because the flavor is complex. Their cevapi (5/5) will have your taste buds do all kinds of happy dance. Second, the burek (4.5/5) is a must-have appetizer as a prelude to the delicious cevapi (you'll thank me later.) Third, I stumbled upon a Tuesday special where baklava is 50%! Do not leave unless you have their baklava (5/5) as a finisher ( and their mighty Bosnian coffee.) Who needs taco Tuesday when you have this little gem of a restaurant? Thank you for an amazing dining experience where we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and our pup was going nuts with her little nose sniffing at the tasty mini sausage.
