I stopped by this Maskadores after work and unfortunately had another negative experience. During a previous visit, the gentleman working there made fun of the way we spoke Spanish. Because of that experience, we chose to speak English this time, but his attitude was no better. He came across as arrogant, dismissive, and uncooperative in both English and Spanish interactions. He also interrupted a coworker to ask about an order that was already previously confirmed despite already having asked the same question earlier. In my opinion, this behavior was disrespectful to both customers and coworkers and seemed to undermine his coworkers' intelligence and professionalism. The food was fine, but customer service is a major part of the experience. Due to these repeated interactions, I will unfortunately not be returning to this location. read more

March 2, 2025 It has been a while since I've visited this location and I was delightfully surprised at their upgrades! They have expanded and grown. NOT only did they purchase the suite next door, they constructed a sleek bar with TV screens, modernized the interior and expanded their patio seating! It was clever of them to have built an opening from the kitchen to the bar area so patrons on both sides could be served more efficiently with minimum travel for the workers. I saw this in action and it helped run things smoothly in both areas. I ordered a taco salad and they happily obliged when I requested a freshly fried tortilla shell for my entree. The cooks or owners were working with smiles even under pressure from the sudden numbers of patrons walking in for lunch. The food topped my expectations. It was better than my last two visits to other Maskadores locations. (I understand that some are franchised.) My taco salad was perfect! The tender beef barbacoa, pickled red onions, fresh toppings and dressing were fantastic! You can request for as much toppings as you'd like. Their burritos and taco salads are large enough to get two servings in each! If I didn't have to leave right after lunch, I would have loved to indulge in a margarita. The ones customers were enjoying on the patio made me jealous. The food, the lady and gentleman that were working the grill left such a positive impression on me that I would definitely return to support these two. read more

Ordered the $14 salad bowl. Barely had any meat (chicken), employee carefully measured with a 1/4 cup & barely gave me any dressing too. Filled the tiny cup up half way with cilantro ranch so salad was very dry. Then at checkout counter employee stares at you uncomfortably to add a tip at the end. Be more generous with the portions and you'll get a better tip! This place is so pricey and skimps on the best parts (meat & fat). Won't be back...Bummer read more

Ricos Tacos aqui en Maskadores Taco Shop! What a better day than Taco Tuesday for this review! Have you ever had a taco that changed your life? Yea, me either. But this one came oh so close! And don't get me started on the Margaritas that not only were adorned festively (see photo) but downright pucker up delicious. Line was long but patience pays off when you see your food being prepared right in front of you. With Sooo many terrific food choices, and additional condiments (about 15) to top the dishes, I was nervous when it was my turn. Only way to fix that was by ordering several dishes: 2 types of beef tacos, pork tacos, 2 styles of beans, rice, wet chicken burrito (fabulous!) and an ocean of Margaritas. Whew! I need one now! SALUD! which is Cheers to good health! Miss Marta was marvelous as she accommodated so many people that night. The mood was festive and all tables in house were having a terrific time. Thank you Miss Marta! Maskadores is a Lucha Libre (wrestling with masks) term which is evident throughout the many photographic posters in the restaurant. Cool! So this time was not so great for a place that always IS great (except for the prices). So they have regular meat choices for their tacos and they have signature meat choices for their tacos. Signatures are like fish, and shrimp. So every time we go in and my girlfriend orders tacos, she will get a shrimp taco and then a "regular" meat one like green chili or asada or whatever. So the guy working tonight seemed to have a real problem with that. He kept telling us that if she wanted a signature meat on one she HAD to have signature meat on the other! He kept saying THATS THE POLICY and he wouldn't let it go. Then he said, "I will go ahead and do it THIS time, but don't tell anyone" Well ummmmmm, SORRY! Ima tell the entire YELP COMMUNITY! I mean, what kind of "POLICY" does he think he's slingin? Bro, give me an ala carte taco with this on it, then give me an ala carte taco with THIS on it! What's the problem?! It really sucks because this place is right next door to our kids karate studio so we often drop him at his class then go next door and eat, then grab him something to go when we leave. I have had Maskadores a few times from takeout but this was the first time I had been inside. I got a wet burrito and being careful with telling them what to put in it, I finally found a combination that didn't burn my mouth off. The red and green sauces and many of the salsa are packing heat, so be warned. The food is very flavorful and for ordering, think Chipotle/Cafe Rio but much more authentic and spicy! read more

Maskadores is still our local taco shop and we always bring our family and friends who are visiting as well. The food is always consistent and we really enjoy their tinga chicken and al pastor. I love how you can pick your own toppings and they are very generous; the tacos are always stacked. They updated their location and are still working on some renovations, overall the expansion looks really nice. Staff is always friendly and super fast even with long lines. Such a great spot My friend and I stopped in to this small shop in the bashes plaza. For a quick lunch. It is very appealing, nice and clean very very friendly ladies behind the counter. Very open to our questions. Since we had never been there before. I ordered we both ordered a burrito bowl and you can make it your way with all the fixings right in front of you. They have tons of delicious options on the menu. I asked the heat level from one to 10 and they were very honest about how spicy some of the meat were. I chose one of the hot to spicy chile verde why and boy, It was pretty spicy. Let me tell ya. It took me a few minutes to get used to it, but it was absolutely delicious and very generous portion I couldn't finish. I had some Jamaica and that was delicious as well. We sat around the little corner area next to the bar and they had really fun music playing and I noticed they have happy hour from 3 to 6 through the week. I will come back and try something else it was a really good experience and I love great customer service. Those ladies were fantastic. I'm updating a previous review, when this little taco shop just opened. It was good then... and it's great now! In fact, they've expanded into to space next door and added a bar and outdoor seating. Living in the SW, it's oddly difficult to find good Mexican food around here. This place hit the spot. The service was impressive, not just satisfactory. Order at the counter and watch your food being made right in front of you. Two people running the show, busting their asses, and smiling and being incredibly kind through it all. Green enchiladas and street tacos were by far the best we've had in Phoenix or Flagstaff. The house margarita was acceptable ?not excellent, but far from the worst I've had around here), but just before we left and after the endless line finally died down, the woman working behind the counter wanted me to try their mixed berry margarita. She brought me a sample (the cutest margarita I've ever seen), and it was, in fact, delicious. Now I have a pleasant little buzz and will nap in the passenger's seat on our ride back to Flagstaff. Maskadores is a must! Great food, always pretty quick. As the Mexican food Bible states "by their sauces ye shall know them" and maskadores passes the test. Anything you get will be good with the variety of hot sauces, the hot can be spicy for beginners! The "tacodilla" is worth the trip. Especially with the jalapeño crème cheese. They have a great topping selection including grilled corn and pickled onion. As well as a serrano salsa bar with jalapeños/carrot mix and lots of lime and lemon. If you order the veggie option it is your choice of beans and then all of the veggie toppings of your choice, there is fresh onion, pico de gallo, cilantro, lettuce, etc. There are fountain drinks as well as jamaica and horchata. Maskadores is one of my favorite Mexican restaurant chains by far. The food is really authentic and made by really friendly chefs and staff. I got the wet burrito with both carne and chipotle chicken. Food portions are massive and this burrito was topped with this jalapeño sour cream and it was absolutely amazing. Ambiance was great, salsas are tasty and the bar addition was a nice touch. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking some quick and delicious Mexican food. read more
