Everything about this place is a 5 star. The people, family restaurant, that makes you feel like family. The food... amazing. So good and will definitely be back and tell everyone about it. If you want a good family vibe with delicious food this is the spot. My boyfriend and I got pozole and rolled beef tacos and it was amazing. The pozole is our weekend morning go to and now we know the place to go.

It is very tough to get an authentic home made experience! Today we stopped in for breakfast burritos based on reviews! So here is how we ordered! Enchilada style smothered in green chile! Wow yummy! I highly recommend coming to this little gem family owned local business!

We were in the plaza and were hungry so we decided to stop here for El Luncho. El Ranchero is nestled behind the Can't Stop Smokin' BBQ restaurant and is between the Sherwin Williams paint store and a barber shop. The menu offers all your favorite burritos, tacos, and plates in many different proteins as well as some good vegetarian options. It's nice to see a place that offers nopales/cactus and I'll definitely have to try that next time. The restaurant is smallish but has a decent number of tables and chairs inside, as well as a couple of 2-top tables outside in the shade. We decided to eat outside around noon and it wasn't too bad with our beverages to cool us down. I did start getting a little too hot towards the end of our meal though. I had the chile relleno plate and a large horchata. I also had a bite of the carnitas burrito. While we waited for our meals we made use of the very nice salsa bar. It's probably the most health-safe salsa bar I've seen since it has a hood/cover on it so that everything isn't out in the open when not in use. When we were here there were 2 types of green salsa, a red salsa, pickled jalapenos, red onions, and some sort of coleslaw looking condiment, just to name a few items! The chile relleno plate was pretty good! The green chile was large, stuffed with ooey gooey cheese and I liked the light batter. It was a tad bit oily but it wasn't too bad. It came with a plentiful portion of beans and rice, along with 4-5 tortillas. You have your choice of corn or flour, I chose corn. They were super hot which was perfect since corn tortillas don't taste that great when they're cold. The carnitas burrito was about average in the realm of meaty burritos. It had the carnitas pork, refried beans, rice, and chopped cilantro+ onion. The horchata was cool, sweet and refreshing. Service was friendly. If you're in the area this is a good option for Mexican food!

    Street tacos and cheese enchilada

This is probably the worst Mexican food I've ever had. The meat tasted old and the cheese enchilada was little a hard tortilla with cold shredded cheese-they didn't even bother to toss it in the microwave to melt the cheese. Rice was bland beans were canned. All around horrible. 0/10 do not recommend.

I got the chilaquiles with green sauce, scrambled eggs and carne asada. It came with the rice and beans and it was delicious! I got it to go so next time I might ask for sauce on the side so it's still crispy when I get home but I would 100% recommend and will be going back!

This is a small, hole in the wall breakfast and lunch place.in a strip mall that always is crowded to that was a good sign. Owner operated, he is friendly, talkative and makes authentic food. . Small salad bar to the right of the counter. Has fresh and bolt led salsas, hot carrots $ slaw. Both bottled salsa I took to the table were good. I had a Carne Asada tostada. Meat was flavorful ingredients fresh. For a delicious, non chain, small business supporting, Mexican food experience, this is the great fast place.

Very homestyle, Mexican restaurant. Obviously a family owned place. The prices were decent for the food that you were getting. The Torta was definitely the star of our breakfast, even though the rice and beans tasted as if they were basically from a can or a box. The huevos rancheros were cooked nicely. However, the sauce tasted as if it was just standard tomato sauce.

I work across the street from this small restaurant & their tacos are seriously delish! So far Ive only tried the tacos from here because we order them for lunch pretty often. Today I didnt feel like cooking so we picked up some tacos to go, 4 birria, 4 asada, 4 pastor & we split them, while ordering ahead of time i found out that they have TACO TUESDAY $1.00 tacos! Glad to know moving forward because we will be ordering from here for dinner more often. The woman that came to take the payment & the man that brought out the food were so sweet, they reminded me of my parents, so welcoming & helpful. Also, they gave us so much salsa, usually restaurants are cheap about it but not this place! If you live around the Chandler area, give them a shot, because incase you didnt know its hard to find tacos with just cilantro & onion in the valley, and they got them! Supporting small business!

Ordered delivery for Cinco De Mayo, because, tacos! We were excited to try this place, as it's super close to our house and got decent reviews. I got the pastor mini taco place, hubs got the carne asada mini taco plate, and we split a quesadilla and order of chips and salsa. The food was decent, I prefer my pastor spicy and this was not, but the seasoning was still good. The salsas were tasty, I loooove a good green salsa, and the beans and rice were ok, nothing special. I will say the flavor might have been off a bit because everything was a little cold when we got it (downside to delivery) so I'd Iove to try this place again when we can dine in! We also got 2 large orders of horchata and it was soooo good! We love horchata, and this was definitely up there as one of the better ones we've had!

Excellent small taqueria in a strip mall. Great choices and full salsa bar to complement your order.

We were served by Ana who took time to explain the drinks and items we were interested on the menu. She was just absolutely great! We started with the Guacamole n chips and the Elote. Both were delicious and the chips are made in house I believe. We then had the short rib Birria and man it was onolicious! The beef just fell apart and the marrow with chips was lip smacking good! It fed the both of us just right. For dessert we had the Tres Leches cake and man we loved it too. The cake was moist and sweet but the ice cream was mild so it went perfect with the cake. We were stuffed! We will definately be back again to try more dishes and we look forward to seeing Ana again!

We tried the chicharonnes, which we did enjoy, but the avocado purée that accompanied it tasted very preserved - Possibly with citrus or something else? The tortillas also did not have much flavor. They tasted almost like something pre-packaged that you could purchase in the store. I expect more robust flavor profiles for House-made tortillas. We also tried the ribeye which we ordered medium rare but it came out medium well+. When we told our server about the steak, she did offer to have it remade but we hate wasting food so we declined the offer. We wanted to try the tres Leches cake because we saw another table order it and it looked so interesting. We didn't want the ice cream on top so we asked if there was anyway they could sub out the scoop of ice cream for a single small churro. Our server told us if we purchased the churros, she would give us the Tres Leches on the house to make up for the steak mishap. We accepted the deal though I don't think it appropriately addressed the issue. The tres leches was dense and firm, not like any other that tres leches I've ever had. The churros had a filling (either cajeta or dulce de leche - I really couldn't distinguish) that in my opinion, did not add value. I would've preferred a percentage off the bill or some other proposal to make it right. It just really wasn't there for me. I've talked to several people in the East Valley about this restaurant since I dined there, and seems my experience was shared among those people too.

I never made it over there but I have been to the Chandler location four times since they've opened and had a lovely experience every time. First was during restaurant week and it was so fun to try a variety of items for a very reasonable price. I loved the Chicharron guacamole, chicken enchiladas, and flan. The texture of the flan was clumpy but the flavor was amazing and I love that there was pineapple compote on top. I don't think I've ever had flan that way. Maitland was our server the first time and we were in such a hurry to make it to other plans and she did an amazing job ensuring we had the best experience in the shortest amount of time. I've also sat at the bar to enjoy the all day happy hour, which is such a great deal! Steven was attentive and thorough and helped facilitate when other guests were getting a little excited at the bar area. I have since tried a number of other menu items and I think the fajitas and corn cake are still my favorite! Sidenote: you can add an extra side of corn cake for $3 - highly recommend! This place basically turns into a nightclub after 7 PM on Friday and Saturday night. There are men dressed up in robot suits wandering all over the establishment dancing with the guests. There are guests dancing in the open space between booths and tables and the energy is out of this world! There were even women doing the limbo through the robots' legs lol! I died! My only suggestion for improvement would be to not serve the rice, beans, and corn cake on the sizzling plate of the fajitas because the plate is so hot that the beans, rice, and corn cake burn which is not an enjoyable flavor or texture for me. I have since started asking for that to be served on the side and I enjoy it much better!

It was clean, the staff responded quickly to me, but I was the only person at lunchtime on the restaurant side, and there were only two people on the bar side. Despite that it was loud. They need sound attenuation, My server was prompt, and freely shared her menu favorites when I asked. Sadly I'm not really a mole fan, her recommendation, but did try the enchiladas divorciadas. First the chips and salsa... the salsa was basically puréed tomatoes. No heat at all. Just some salt. I asked for something spicier and the server found me some habanero salsa. That was tasty, but it probably had very little habanero in it. Again, no better than a low-med heat. I grew up across the southwest so to me that was disappointing. The enchiladas? I really wanted to like this place but honestly? It was unseasoned boiled and shredded chicken, wrapped in a raw / untoasted tortilla. And drowned in some that was not enchilada sauce. The red sauce tasted like tomato sauce. I'm used to red sauce being pepper based. The spicier and more roasted the better. No pepper discernible. The green sauce tasted like it had a hint of green Chiles but mostly tomatillo. Also boring but better than the red. Neither was good. I ate it, I was hungry and it wasn't greasy, but... this was a midwestern spice-hating simulacrum of an enchilada. No bueno, demasiada aburrida. So to sum it up; decent but slightly loud facility, wonderful server, and I would say forgettable food but the reality is it was unforgettably boring.
