PERFECT BITE NACHOS (they were cold)
    Brigette K.

Pretty meh I am sorry to say. We made a reservation for 4 people to watch some football games on a Saturday evening (college bowl & pro). The wait staff all seem very young and inexperienced, and not attentive. Beer was flat. The nachos came out cold and are missing something; the pulled pork on them had no flavor. The wings were better but very salty. Very bro heavy and yet the women's room was a bit of a mess. I won't be back.

This bar is very spacious with seating area in the back and some in the front. There is a nice size bar area where you can sit at too. They have a great beer selection and their food looks awesome. I did not get any but when I did see others eating it looked good. There are many tvs here so it is a great spot to come catch a game. The lighting fixtures over the bar are cool too as they are made out of mason jars. The bartender was nice and helpful.

Love this place! It's the perfect spot to catch your favorite sport's games while enjoying incredible Southern comfort food. The staff was super friendly, and very attentive! Tony and Ian crafted some killer drinks, and one of the partners, Brendan, hung out with us and made the experience even more memorable. His awesome playlist took the atmosphere to the next level. If you're in NY, this place is a must!

The whole time it felt like our waitress was occupied with closing the place instead of helping us. Had to wave her down every time we needed something or to order. The buffalo cauliflower bites were fried which was not described well on the menu. The short rib grilled cheese was really good but extremely greasy. The buffalo chicken salad was pretty good, I'd ask for light dressing next time. It very much feels like a neighborhood bar.

    SHRIMP & GRITS
    Zuri D.

I had the shrimp and grits for lunch. Service was great, however, the grits lacked in salt. It was just a bit too bland. I think some salt would've made it perfect. It was a very very hot day, so I appreciated that they opened up the side window in the front of the restaurant. It felt really nice.

Perfect place. I thoroughly recommend coming in for a drink, bite to eat and fun time. It's lively with a diverse crowd and the food was delicious. I loved the tomato soup and pretzel, also brisket platter. The drinks were great and the Happy Hour specials are amazing. It's super clean, good service and spacious. Lots of big screens to watch the game.

Great spot for BBQ and great apps. Welcoming and inviting. I met the owner who came to our table to talk with us and thank us for coming from out of town. Love that they've embraced and welcomed South Carolina Gamecocks in NYC and beyond. Cant say enough about Mason Jar NYC.

Mason Jar NYC is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the city, offering a dining experience that's nothing short of spectacular. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The star of the show? The fork-tender smoked brisket, which is quite possibly the best you'll ever taste. Every bite is packed with flavor, and the meat simply melts in your mouth. Pair it with one of the delicious drinks on offer, all hand-selected by the owner, and you're in for a treat. Speaking of drinks, the bartender, Perry, is a true expert. She suggested the perfect drink pairings for our BBQ, enhancing the flavors and making the meal even more memorable. And let's not forget about dessert. The desserts at Mason Jar NYC are simply amazing, the perfect way to end a perfect meal. What truly sets Mason Jar NYC apart, however, is the staff and the owner. Everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and passionate about what they do. It's clear that they take pride in their work, and it shows in every aspect of the dining experience. My daughter and I stumbled upon Mason Jar NYC on a whim while we were in the city for my birthday, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we've ever made. We made immediate friends with everyone there, and the atmosphere was unlike any other. If you find yourself in New York City, do yourself a favor and make a beeline for @masonjarnyc You won't regret it.

FRIED CHICKEN with CRISPY BRUSSELS SPROUTSand JALAPENO CORNBREAD. Nachos
    Princess W.

The service was 5/10. We were sitting there for 25 minutes before we were given water. The waitress had a little attitude. And the waiter that brought us our menus wasn't any better. I know stuff happens working in a restaurant,, but damn why you had to throw the menus at me? The food was 7/10. I got the fried chicken, which had a good crunchy the taste of the skin was a bit off, like it had chili powder or taco seasoning in it. The Brussel sprouts were good. As for the jalapeño cornbread, where was the jalapeño in the corn bread? I liked the nachos, the meat was tender. Overall, I left this review mainly for the bad service. It made me not wanna come back so.

Surrounding TVs keep every play, fight and miracle replayed in glorious surround-sass while wooden tables beg for pitchers, pretzels and conspiracy theories about the ref. Whether you're upstairs for the 3rd floor vibe, mid-level for the perfect sightline, or down in the cozy den with the best acoustics, this is New York sports bar energy: loud, a little brazen, impossibly welcoming. One particular bartender, Delaney not only brings an awesome level of energy to the bar, she saunters in like a halftime show -- a grin that's equal parts mischief and welcome. She's all quick elbows and quicker comebacks, the kind of bartender who remembers your name, your drink, and that one ridiculous story you told months ago. Her laugh is loud, her wink is devious, and she has a way of making first-timers feel like regulars by the second round. Behind the wooden bar she's choreography: expert pours, theatrical muddles, and a flourish that makes every order feel curated. We reserved for a quick bite at Redeye Grill before catching Dog Day Afternoon on Broadway, but as soon as we walked up, some bouncer told us they were closed for a private wedding reception. We were dazed and confused because how was I able to reserve online? But the real plot twist was that it ended up being the best thing that happened. We actually stumbled into Tanner Smith's thinking it'd be the typical, boring bar-food spot. Nope. They first sat us at a hi-top by the door, but that wasn't our vibe, so we grabbed seats at the bar instead. Best decision. Our bartender, Josiah, was absolutely killing it. My cocktail had passion fruit, so of course I asked my usual question: "But is it real passion fruit?" He just nodded in agreement and that told me everything I needed to know. That drink was legit and had nice strength. The food was great too. My fish tacos were packed with fresh fish, the guacamole and salsa were chunky and full of flavor and hubs enjoyed his pastrami sandwich. I have no clue when we'll be back in Midtown, but one thing's for sure- we're sitting with Josiah again.

Two-part, proper settle, tight dome, no rushing it. That's rarer than it should be in Midtown where half the bars treat a stout like a lager. Whoever's behind the bar here has been trained or grew up around it. Food's better than a second-floor pub between 5th and 6th has any right to be. The JRB burger comes on a house-ground patty (they grind in-house, and you can tell, loose texture, actual seasoning), caramelized onions cooked down all the way, not just softened, good cheese pull. Fried pickles on the side had a crisp cornmeal shell and stayed crunchy under the burger juices, which never happens. Buttermilk chicken salad was the surprise. Chicken actually brined, crust stayed on, greens weren't an afterthought. Only real knock: music was loud. Not sports-bar loud, more like the bartender's playlist got away from him. Fine at the bar, harder at a table if you want to talk. Room's got real bones. Reclaimed barn wood, old rail track as a foot rest, that big 45-star flag on the wall. Been here almost 20 years and it's aged into itself. For the neighborhood the pricing's fair. Beats P.J. Clarke's on the burger, loses on quiet. Go for a beer and a burger, not a date.
