Blacks tire is more than just an auto shop. Ive been to the one in Myrtle Beach off of 10th Ave. they've always made me feel like family. The head mechanic Charlie Brown he sure a character and the cute little boy that changes oil and tires, they call him willy. He is so polite and has manners! His mama sure taught him well!! While I wait to get my vehicle serviced, I usually wait Inside cAnd speak with Karla we've gotten to know each other on a personal level, and she most definitely knows how to do her job!!! out of all of the shops I've been to I would definitely give this one 10 stars. I know it only can give you five stars but I give you 10. If anyone needs help getting their vehicle service I definitely recommend going to blacks tire! I had my son's 1st car towed into the Joe White Ave location, and Ms. Carla was absolutely the best. Although, I didn't go through with receiving service because my son's car called for too much work. Ms. Carla did what she said and kept me informed. Let me start by saying I have purchased 4 high performance tires, 6 truck tires for my dually and four tires for my SUV from Mason's in the past five years. Also had brake work and routine maintenence done. So I take a tire that I bought from Mason's that went flat. 4 days later, I haven't heard from them. Manager "forgot" to make a ticket. When I dropped it off, he was too busy giving tire price quotes on the phone to wait on long time cash paying customer. Finally got the tire back. $25 fee. So then I take my SUV in for some work. Oil change, power steering fluid change, tire rotation, brake check. Got the car back. No power steering fluid change on the ticket. Oil change sticker says next change due at 186,000. Car has 128,000 on it now. You can't deal with a phone quote and a customer at the counter at the same time. Their usual great service has gone downhill lately. read more

The guys at xxxMart said "I had an unpatchable hole in the inside wall of my tire (from hitting one of Horry Counties many pot holes). " I called Masons and they had same brand tire in to match the rest on the truck. Make a long story short they took of the tire off and found a small nail that could be plugged saving some $$$. Being on Vacation and your AC messing up is not a pleasent thing, but it was our reality. I called the local Carmax, we had bought the car at carmax in Tennessee, and they set it up for me to take our vehicle to Mason's Tire and Auto Service. The staff were beyond polite, helpful, and understanding! I was really pleased with this shop. I took my truck in to see if they could check out some issues I was having with it, fully expecting to pay for such a service -- yet they did it entirely free of charge, complete with a test-drive, diagnosis, and estimate for repairs. Plus, this was done with courtesy and friendliness (and darn fast, too). Also, the waiting room was comfortable, and outfitted with good chairs and premium complementary drinks. Not yet having any actual work done to my vehicle, I can't comment on their actual service; however, I was impressed enough with my check-up to leave a positive review. Good stuff, and much thanks. I stopped here to get a quote on a new clutch for my car. They gave me an estimate for $3300. I declined this obviously inflated price and ended up going my regular mechanic, who did the job for $1000. I knew these Goodyear shops had a bad rep and I had not used them for YEARS because of previous experience: claiming to rotate tires when they didn't. How did I catch them? I wrote "FD, FP, RD, RP" (for front driver, front passenger, rear driver, rear passenger) in black ink ON THE TIRES. That happened twice and I didn't go back. I should have known better that even try a Goodyear but my clutch was failing and it was the closest shop to where I was. Imagine paying $3300 for something another mechanic will do for $1K! That is price gouging on an epic scale. It was it is, I would say you're a fool if you bring your car to this place. If they'll try to rip me off, why wouldn't they try to rip you off too? read more

I've always prided myself for looking at "the glass half full", but there are times when I'm not permitted to give my side. It's been quite awhile since I was treated so poorly in a public space. We had made an appointment nearly a week out, and even taken off work to allow Mason's to repair the ac in our work truck. We took it in Thursday at opening to allow them 2-3 days for the repair. On Saturday we rushed to the store to find out why they were just getting started. You see, they didn't call us on Thursday or Friday, but Saturday morning they called to tell us they were just getting started! We went in to see "why" and to pick up the truck because it was needed for work! They knew all of this, but when we arrived, we were treated like we were terrible people, arguing and getting others in the waiting area to argue against us! I couldn't understand what we had done wrong!! One lady threatened to call the police on us! We took the truck shaking our heads and wondering what just happened! If that wasn't bad enough, the owner called us and told us to take our business elsewhere, yelling the whole time and never giving us a chance to tell her our side!! We had given them A LOT OF MONEY from the company, plus personal repairs to our vehicles. We are still shaking our heads and we definitely plan to go elsewhere so we can be treated fairly! read more

My family and I have been going to Mason Tire for the better part of 16 years. Never had anything to complain about. I had to give them this review now, though, because they really helped me out over the holidays when I was in a bind. I went in for just an oil change because that's all that I could afford. However, little things were breaking or wearing out on my car and the issues were mounting up and overwhelming me. Long story short, I got my oil changed and everything else fixed for a price I could afford. It's a rare thing anymore to find establishments that are willing to work with you and help you out when you're in a bind. Wonderful people. read more

I went here for an oil change. They said it would take 45 minutes. 2 1/2 hrs later, they came to give me an estimate for $600 worth of stuff that did not need to be fixed and said it would be done soon. When I went to pay, I tried to use a coupon and they said it was counterfeit. It came from my son's school fundraiser book, and he said , yeah, the book is fine but we didn't authorize the coupon. I asked if they had a sign anywhere stating that they didn't accept them, he said no. He was then rude and said if I had told him about the coupon when I called for an apt, he would have told me. My mistake. I will never do business with them again, their customer service was horrible, and they also said I needed license plate lights, which I've heard is a common thing for them to unhook during an oil change in order to charge people for it. I checked mine right before going over there and they were working fine. That is my test for how reputable a company is, and they failed. If you need tires, go to Tire Town, they were very fast and much cheaper that this awful place! read more
