I can't attest to the quality of the massage, since we never got that far. I wanted to get a gift certificate for a couples massage for my nephews wedding and paid them up-front. However, the certificate they sent did not indicate it was for a couples massage and had the prices and all sorts of extraneous information. When we weren't able to resolve the problem, I told them I wanted to cancel and get our money back. Unfortunately, I was told that their "system" didn't allow for cancellations. for gift certificates. I am, to put it mildly, very upset, since I question why a (presumably) computer system would not have that capability. If you get a quality massage from them, great. I was in search of a good place to get a massage, not from the asian cheapy places but also not at the pricey, high end spas. Something reasonably priced -but legit and good quality- was what I wanted. I read some reviews and decided to give Masage 1 a try. The man that helped me over the phone was really nice and suggested a therapist that was known for being pretty deep, as I informed him I like a pretty intense degree of massage. I booked a 30 min ( $30) for the next day. I arrived to my appointment about 10 mins early and checked in easily and waited in the quiet room. This quiet room isn't like the fancy quiet rooms at spas, with tea and goodies and massage/ reclining chairs, but that's okay. My therapist came out shortly thereafter and I had a great massage! The massage room was quiet, the music was relaxing (not too loud, just right tempo), and she found all my problem areas and worked them out quite intensely! Came in for a massage from a gift certificate my mom had gotten me from Christmas. It has been my first massage in years especially after my chemo therapy and recovery. My body suffers from horrible nuerapathy caused from the chemo and the massage definitely helped. The massage was not even close to the best massage I've ever had, but it was a good value. I had my first massage ever here because I can no longer take the pain in my shoulder and neck from work related muscle spasm and tightness, I asked for deep pressure and focused on my shoulder and neck and they didn't even touch the areas that cause me pain, and for some reason were focusing on my lower back and hips?. The massage technique was great but it is not what I asked for and if anything made my pain worse by having to lay flat for an hour. I didn't know to say anything because I've never had a massage and I thought maybe she was just trying to loosen stuff up to go for the painful area... really upset because this is a lot of money for me and I got no relief at all. She took her time and worked the knots in my back without doing trigger point so I didn't cry like a little girl. I highly recommend Brenda. After a long day, I was hoping to get a relaxing massage, but it didn't happen here. The young massage therapist was nice, but she talked the whole time. I would expect some conversation in the beginning, but she talked the whole 60 minutes. I want to go to sleep during a massage session, and converse on a social event. Also, the massage table was a bit uncomfortable. It was tilted slightly down, so I felt like I was falling. I requested to have the table adjusted, and the massage therapist said it doesn't adjust, and the table was specifically for pregnant women. Well I am not pregnant, so why in the hell did she put me in a massage room with a table that can't be adjusted and only be used for pregnant women? They have some essential oils displayed up front. I asked the receptionist if they are selling them since I am into essential oils, and she said not at this time. Then why have essential oils displayed if you don't sell them? I told the receptionist the table was uncomfortable and couldn't be adjusted. Maybe I was hoping for a discount for not being completely satisfied, but what was I thinking. read more

It would be in the businesses best interest to inform all potential clients of the fee they charge for missing an appointment, as soon as they make their first appointment! I was so looking forward to this massage as I am just tightly wound up in my neck, shoulders and hip. Also, I haven't been to a massuse in about 6 years or so. I made the appointment with them because they were fairly close. I was so busy all day and had issues with my car tire. Big nail ! Then, left my phone at Sam's. Long story short I missed my appointment because I actually thought it was an hour later than it was. I felt pretty bad but rescheduled for another one 2 days later. So I get there and the receptionist say I owe a missed appointment fee. Well, it's my first time there!! I could understand if I was a regular or had even been once before and KNEW BEFOREHAND of their policies. Plus, I can respect that policy as it is their time that was wasted. Just also respect ME as a first time customer and inform me of the policy for any future visits! Don't hit me with that as soon as I walk in the door having never even Seen a therapist there yet and expect me to pay for a visit I mistakenly missed, yet rescheduled. First of all, happy Mother's Day! So pleased that they were not super busy and they kept the calm relaxing feel 100%. My therapist name was Danielle, I hope I got that right. But she was awesome. Totally sweet and nice very helpful and honest I appreciated her not trying to upsell me services. She listened to my problem areas and truly worked on those areas. I loved that she worked on those areas but didn't skimp on the rest of the massage. She was tattooed which I thought was great to see that in a spa atmosphere. She was so professional and I would love to go back to her. She said she does not normally work at that location but I would definitely travel to go see her wherever the other location is. When she was done I swear it felt like I was on drugs for about the next hour haha so relaxed and euphoric. Before my visit my body was in extreme pain and when I left I was literally pain-free. I have carpal tunnel and planter fascia and have been having a horrible shoulder pain and it was literally gone. You can book on line with ease and they have a great selection of massage modalities to choose from. Appointments are pretty simple to secure and check in is so easy on a kiosk with what areas and pressure styles your looking for at that session. Pricing structure is the best I have dealt with. No annoying membership fees. Two price structure means it's simple. Pay the lower price if you rebook and continue with them. Aryah has a great technique and one of the best massage providers I have experienced. I try to get massages anytime I travel and regularly here at home and she can provide , seeedish, deep tissue and has great technique. She's amazing. So the last few weeks, I've been in tremendous pain. After not knowing what else to do, I booked a 90 minute massage with Rina. THE BEST DECISION I HAVE MADE IN WEEKS. I'm just mad I didn't do this sooner. Rina was phenomenal, so attentive, and her hands are magic. I walked in Massage 1 with pain level of 15 of 10 and left with a 2. That's something. I drove from Summerlin to Henderson to see her and would gladly do it again. I'm not easily impressed, but if you want your life changed. We've been coming here for years and for the most part have been happy with the massages. We usually book a couples massage but my wife has been disappointed the last couple of times. If you don't request a specific massage therapist, you may end up with someone who shouldn't be doing massages and it will ruin the experience and make you want to jump off your table like this last time for her. This review is mostly based off the front desk girl who seemed inexperienced and at first couldn't even find us in their system. At the end, we were told she couldn't honor the signature pricing...a discounted rate for members who book ahead but they must reschedule within a 5 week period to continue to receive this rate...we rescheduled within that 5 weeks. On top of that, we were told (surprise!) that there would be a mandatory 20% gratuity added. Now we are normally generous tippers but do not appreciate being told the 20% is mandatory...especially when my wife's massage was terrible...erratic pressure that was more agitating than relaxing. I saw another Yelper post the same issue with the 20% Auto gratuity. This is just a shady practice. read more

Went here recently for a couples massage for myself and my boyfriend. My parents also went here for their own couples massage on the same day. It was the first time my boyfriend had ever had a professional massage done, so he was pretty anxious about it. They were very professional and nice in spite of us arriving 5 minutes late. They asked about concerns we had and areas we wanted them to focus on, areas to avoid (I had a recent piercing to my left ear and didn't want any lotion near it) and did exactly that. I had a lot of tension/stress in my back, and Caitlyn (sp?) was very helpful - I think she probably spent about 10-15 minutes on each half of my back as I requested, as Ive been tight for a very very long time. My back feels so loose and relaxed. I haven't felt this way in a long time. I overheard my boyfriend breathing very deeply, so I think he was able to relax after all. And he has felt good afterward too. I only have 2 concerns/upsets. First, the massage therapist who was working on my boyfriend did not phrase it very kindly when she asked him about a whether a rash on his leg was contagious or not. She could have asked it in a less callous/insensitive manner. She cut him off when he was explaining that he was seeing a dermatologist for a heat rash and it was getting better, to say, "No - I mean is it contagious?!" It wasn't a big deal to him, but I just imagine someone with eczema or something else non-contagious feeling very unwelcome. Second, my dad also got a couples massage with my mom on the same day and since then, he has been complaining of difficulty turning his neck from side-to-side after they pressed his neck. Not sure what that is about yet. In short, I'm satisfied with my experience and would like to go again, however, I do not belief my dad and my boyfriend had as great experiences. read more

For $59 a month those "other guys" make you sign a contract and you can't give away your unused massages. At Massage 1 you spend $59 per massage of you book your next one at the time you're checking out. And who wouldn't want to come back?!? If you just can't commit right then, you can always book online (which is SO EASY!) After my last experience I was contacted by Josh, one of the owners of Massage 1. Josh was genuinly concerned about my unhappiness and invited me back to try them again. I am always willing to give a business a second chance when they care enough to respond to a negatvie review in a positive way. It is very apparent that Massage 1 cares about their clients and wants them to have a great experience every time. Josh paired me with a therapist that specialized more in relaxation and it was a huge difference. The massage was much more what I was used to and I left feeling very relaxed. Excellent customer service can be hard to find these days, but it is alive and well at Massage 1. I've only been to two other massage places but Massage 1 is my favorite out of all of them. I scheduled a 1 hour Hot Stone Massage yesterday. One word: WOW. This was my first hot stone massage so I was a little nervous. I called before my appointment to get an idea what they would recommend for someone who wanted a relaxation massage. The receptionist was very friendly and informative and said the hot stone one would be a good one. I arrived 15 minutes early since I knew I needed to fill out some paperwork for new clients. The vibe was clean and cute and the staff was very welcoming. Amelia was my masseuse and she was amazing! She made me feel very comfortable and asked what I was looking for and asked me for feedback when she used the hot stones. Overall, my experience was great. I would recommend this place to anyone. I look forward to my Massage 1 appointments every month! I haven't tried all the therapists but I do recommend two: Amelia and Heather. Both are very responsive to my needs and focus on my problem areas. I find that you do have to speak up though, if the pressure is too hard or soft, if something is uncomfortable or not... they are not mind readers! And in my experience the therapists at Massage 1 are all very accommodating once they know what I want. I love Heather as she is very focused and extremely strong in her touch. She can really work out my knots! On the other hand, Amelia is super friendly and also really skilled, sometimes chatting puts me at ease to be honest.
