A massage therapist who doesn't care about the health and wellness of her clients is not a massage therapist to visit. Now, given that her website is down it seems Cathi may be every bit as good a businesswoman as she is a person, but on the off chance that she's still practicing somewhere, you should be aware. At the time she made these comments (at the time of this posting), the COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. hover around 120,000 people and San Diego is under orders to wear masks. Massage therapists have just been told that they can legally open soon under strict restrictions, one of which is a mask requirement. None of which align with Cathi's "truth." Cathi was exceptional for my first and second massage. She quickly got very comfortable. Her quality massage skills declined and she got pushy with her upsells. Everyone can have a bad day but she was like this for 2-4x in a row... I felt like I built a relationship with her, which is always nice, until she tried to rip me off with a referral. I sent my mom to her for a massage and in return you get $X off. After my massage she said she couldn't honor that offer, which is clearly stated on one of her business cards, but she could do half the discount. I was so shocked and somewhat insulted, thinking wow lady you would rather risk a long-term client over a few bucks? Cathi does not have your best interest at heart. After all the money I spent with her she had the nerve to keep a few dollars... After I introduced her to a new client... I've been going to Cathi for a about two years now at her cozy studio and she's absolutely amazing! How amazing? I was so sore that I couldn't touch my right shoulder using my right hand and my back had a ton of knots! After she massaged me, my back felt significantly better and I could touch my shoulder fine! I was up and ready to go work out again! She makes me feel ridiculously relaxed and works out a lot of the kinks. Normally, I was paying a lot at other places because my siblings would want to get a massage and they would end up making me feel worse! With her, the atmosphere smells and feels wonderful and I feel amazing at the end of it. I love the bath salts that she gives you to soak yourself in your own tub after the massage. Also, she has these amazing cherry pit bags (they smell a bit weird so keep them in a zip lock) but they do wonders for heating up sore muscles or lady parts. Furthermore, I absolutely love how easy it is to make an appointment with her. She's always on time, the positive energy she gives off is so contagious, she's easy to message (easy and quick communication via text and email), she does events (even though I haven't used her for it), and the massage is amazing! I never want to get a massage anywhere else after going to her because others just can't compare. Note: I don't know if she accepts card here. I normally just bring cash. I agree with Kari S. review. I've been seeing Cathy for over 2 years now. When I first started, I had been going through an extremely stressful time and the massages were "my time" to relax and restore my sanity - which is what I expected from a massage. I didn't expect it to be a healing time...both physically and emotionally. After a massage from Cathy, I'm restored to a level of calmness that I maintain long after the massage is over. I'm so much more aware of when my body is reacting to stress now because I know how it feels when it's relaxed so I try to maintain that state as long as possible. Cathy's massages also help my body heal faster from injuries - both new and old injuries. Recently, I fell and tore the muscle connectors in my shoulder. I was in constant pain until Cathy massaged it. She knew just how to treat it. I've been pain free since and it began to heal much faster. My only regret is that I suffered for a few weeks - I should have made an appointment with Cathy right away. Lastly, Cathy constantly amazes me by how she seems to know exactly where my sore spots are without me needing to tell her. It's like her hands have "mental telepathy".
