I love coming to this Massage Envy! I've been coming to this location for a few years, primarily for facials. Madison is my esthetician and she's awesome! She's helped me build a skincare routine and performs awesome services. She has a great mix of making you feel like an old friend, while also helping you relax! Tonight, I had a massage by Vivi and it was sooo good. Super relaxing, she's such a great massage therapist. I'd love to have more massages done by her in the future! It been a year since my last review! Time for an update! Great news to report! Toni is still doing my facials after about 2 years! She is amazing and I'm so glad Massage Envy has been able to retain her on staff! She is so friendly, professional, gentle and really knows my skin! I always leave feeling amazing! I am still seeing Rainey for massages too! She has a great personality and the perfect touch! I'm still trying to catch up on services which is hard to do, so I have hours stacked up. Bought Jan Marini entire kit on Nov 21 and one of the containers stopped pumping and dispensing this product. Called Oceanside location and they will not stand by their product. They said if it broke within the first 3 days then maybe. There's still 4 months of product left. Do not go to this ME. Poor poor customer service. A complete joke. read more

I had my massage with Ellen and she was absolutely incredible! Hands down the best massage I've ever had. As a hairstylist, I carry a lot of tension in my shoulders, and she completely worked it out while still giving me the most relaxing 90 minutes. I am very disappointed in my experience with this place. My massages have been just ok but the customer service is horrendous. Do yourself a favor and do not take your business here. As a new mom, working full time, I was trying to find an outlet to relieve some stress, improve my mental health, and take some time for me so I was talked into a membership. Big mistake. I went here for a massage after a surf trip. For some reason the masseuse decided it would be a good idea to place my arm over my head and lean all her weight into it. I was trusting the process but remember thinking oh my god she's going to dislocate my shoulder! At that moment she eased up. I went in feeling great, left with pain in my shoulder, I think my rotator cuff. Felt a dull pain for 3 days and it started to feel better but went for a surf today and the dull pain is back. I called and told management, she said she was sorry and asked if I wanted to book a massage to work on it. I politely said no and hung up. Won't be going back! read more

I have left a voicemail message 2x within 3 hours waiting for them to call me back as their message says. I guess they don't listen to their messages. I actually have had a great experience with ME. I joined at the Vista location (now closed) about 6 years ago and have enjoyed massage and facial services there, San Marcos, and at the Carlsbad/Oceanside locations. I've worked with many, many different estheticians and masseuses over the years because I book by my availability and not the person. Truly, I have only had two poor massages and that was most recently, so I feel pretty happy with ME overall. Now. I did just contact ME to cancel my membership. In the past 7 months, I've been dealing with chronic low back pain (MRI shows 3 bulged discs and a pinched nerve L3-4-5-S1) and manual manipulation isn't recommended. I am spending time and money at the doctor and have to devote my priorities elsewhere. I'm definitely not opposed to rejoining ME in the future! *it's terribly disappointing to hear all the negative feedback when my experience has been overwhelmingly positive; I do hope my membership cancellation goes smoothly - I'll let ya'll know! This place is a complete rip off. Absolutely useless facial. I went on for a facial. The therapist kept trying to sell me products and upgrades during my facial. Extra 20 and I'll put something else on. Buy this product from us etc. So annoying. Was supposed to be an hour min but ended up being 40 min (starting late and ending early). Spent 2 minutes for extractions which is what I went in for. Asked me to come back for a more expensive facial just to get my blackheads removed. Whatever she did made no difference at all. Then the front desk guy wants to sell me membership to get more lousy facials. No thanks. I still left a decent tip but will never go back. read more

I came to this location because my Esthetician at the San Marcos Massage Envy location quit & they gave me 2 days notice so I had to schedule at a different location. Drove here from Escondido. Had a facial on a Sat with "Madison"-the receptionist on the phone recommended her. She was NOT GOOD AT ALL. I could tell she didn't care about me as a client. The facial was nothing to rave about. It was lousy! In fact that was it for me as a Massage Envy Member & I cancelled my membership after this experience. I was a member for many DECADES, but I'm done with Massage Envy. If you want a lousy facial go to "Madison". The spa mgr called me & tried to get me re-scheduled with a different esthetician at no charge after she saw my review on their website. I told her no thank you. I get regular facials & have for many decades now. I know a good facial from a lousy one. If these franchise owners don't want to pay their employees well then this will be the results. Sad. read more

Worst massage iv ever had, the therapist wore these oversized rubber gloves and felt like someone was finger painting on my back. As I left ,the manager asked me how my massage was and I told her, she asked if I wanted a free massage right then and there, I said no, I paid for the massage and just wanted to get out of there. That was some time ago, was thinking of giving them a second try but when I called, they said they would not honor the massage they offered to make up for the horrible one. Massage envy used to be a great, reliable place for a professional massage- but all this has changed especially with the Oceanside location. This year more than half of the scheduled massages I've had have been canceled same day or within 1 day without reasonable availability to reschedule or moved. Today I sat and waiting 10 minutes before having to learn on my own that nobody was showing up to take the scheduled appointment that was made and confirmed. In trying to book something that aligns with my schedule there was no availability for more than 2 weeks. Any 90 minute massage was more than 3 weeks booked out to include locations 15-20 minutes away. With increases in monthly rates and terrible access to massages, do yourself a favor and stay away from this business that has gone downhill too fast and is not showing any concern to change things. And yes- I've already tried multiple times to connect with somebody outside this office but have had ZERO follow up. Corporate apparently doesn't care how their franchises are run. read more

From the front desk staff to Maria; I enjoyed everything. Very professional and friendly service and staff. I truly enjoyed the decorative layout, music, and the more then relaxing vibe of the spa. I waited 3 weeks for a massage they booked and confirmed, only to drive there and have them tell me they didn't see it and they gave the slot away. They told me they'd book another appointment in 2 weeks and help me out when I got there. I waited 2 weeks and when I got there they did NOTHING for me and told me they couldn't do anything. Beware!! They are incredibly understaffed, and it has been impossible to book an appointment for months now. The last two appointments I had scheduled were cancelled at the last minute. I have called 4 times now trying to get my money back. If you can get them to answer a manager I'd never available. The reception while always nice are unable to help. They say a manager will call you back but they never do! I'm not even trying to get something for free, I just want my money back from the massages they cancelled!!! Horrible service!! Honestly I thought about giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the gal at the front was super nice. I've been a member of Massage Envy for many years and have primarily used this location. I've had mostly positive experiences over the years but lately this isn't the case. Another reviewer nailed it- last minute cancellations, promised call from a manager (that never happened). While I was able to finally get in, the massage was not even close to up to par with those I've had in the past. I'm so disappointed since this location is the most convenient for me. I've noticed that the negative reviews have had no reply from management, however the positive ones have. I completely understand that the past year and a half has been challenging for businesses, so I don't take writing critical reviews lightly. I truly hope that this location reaches out to the people who have been frustrated so the therapists can continue to work and customers will continue to want to come. read more

I went to massage envy for a much needed deep tissue massage. I was told 9 pm was the only time for their best deep tissue massage therapist. It was not what I had hoped for. The therapist didn't follow any patterns taught At massage schools. Mostly she just dragged her hands Around. She did not know how to do a deep tissue massage at all. There was no one to speak to when I left and I will not ever go back. I was charged 70$ for that waste of time. The therapist thanked me for teaching her Things at the end. I should have charged her. The price, the service, and the massage were so bad that no one should go there. It's a waste of money and time. read more

I booked a SURPRISE couples massage for me and my husband almost 4 weeks in advance to make sure that my husband could get the massage therapist needed for his concerns (he has a mild case of cerebral palsy so he requires certain pressure). When I booked I asked that I be the primary contact on there since it was a surprise for my husband. The day before they call my husband TWICE to confirm our appointment (so much for a surprise). If that wasn't bad enough, they called two hours before our appointment after I took time off of work and cancelled my husbands appointment because the massage therapist didn't show up to work. Terrible. They gave me the wrong time for my scheduled appointment or booked the wrong spot so I showed up 3 hours early. The attitude of the assistant manager and surrounding staff was horrible and dismissive. She actually tried to charge me a $30 fee to cancel the 4pm which I could never have made that time so I never would have booked it. Total attitude problem until I asked for her managers name, then she was all about trying to help. Very unprofessional looking and acting staff. Too bad this is the only Oceanside location, I may just have to cancel my membership I have had for four years in Colorado. Edit : I visited the DMV today and just reviewed them for four stars.
