I visited this massage location for my appointment on Friday, February 19. The business is conveniently located in a plaza surrounded by several other stores and restaurants, including Freddy's and many other businesses within both walking and driving distance. Upon arrival, the front desk receptionist checked me in right away and reviewed the intake checklist with me. After check-in, I was guided to a quiet waiting area where water, peppermint candies, and restrooms were available for guests to use while waiting. The seating area was calm and relaxing, and a staff member came to call my name when it was time for my appointment. They also checked to see if I needed to use the restroom or needed anything before getting started. This was my first massage, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I had heard great reviews about a previous therapist from another customer, although I was told she no longer works there. My massage overall was good and very relaxing for a first-time experience. The session started a few minutes after the scheduled time and appeared to end slightly before the expected finish time, though I could be mistaken. One suggestion for improvement would be allowing clients to choose their own music during the session and providing more information ahead of time about the products used during the massage. It would also be helpful to receive clearer information about available upgrades or monthly membership options before the appointment. Overall, my experience was positive and relaxing, and I would consider returning. Wow, I am so disappointed by the unprofessionalism of this establishment. I am pregnant and had a prenatal massage booked which I was really looking forward to, if you've been pregnant, you know how important prenatal massages are! I booked my appointment in advance, and received a text message from massage envy a few days prior to my appointment to confirm, which I happily did. I also received a phone call from massage envy the day before my appointment to confirm again, which I did. Today was my appointment and massage envy called me a few hours before my appointment to tell me they were canceling it because the massage therapist had a meeting. What??? How could I book and then confirm not once, but twice and nobody caught this. To make matters worse, since I am pregnant I can only receive massages from therapists who are trained in prenatal massages and massage envy canceled my confirmed appointment hours before it was scheduled without any resolution. They did not have another therapist available and offered no solution, just canceled on me!!! Canceling a prenatal massage on the pregnant lady who took off of work to be there and confirmed the appointment MULTIPLE times is wildly unprofessional and I am disappointed in how this establishment handled this. My first time at this massage envy. Although my therapist Ryan was pleasant enough and asked the right questions "is this pressure ok etc" it was just a very average massage for $168. It started 10 mins late and finished early; techniques were average and he was sighing the entire massage like he didn't want to be there. I paid an extra $15 for some cold gel on my back that was freezing with the fan blasting on me. I don't recommend this place - for the amount of money I paid I would highly recommend going elsewhere!!!!! read more

I have been to this location before great experience Tuesdat 16 was not a good experience. The masseuse Cameron was unprofessional didn't listen to my request ask for soft to medium that not at all what I received. Was told by masseuse healthy muscles dont hurt I made a remark she says well.... thats the truth! I was shocked so unprofessional in ever way. She forgot my aroma therapy I paid extra for. Checking out was another bad experience I was forced to give $20 tip they didn't have change nor was I givin any options. Membership & Management Be careful signing up for their membership, especially at the Litchfield Goodyear location. I submitted a Doctor's note and a cancellation request and they "denied" me. It makes no sense that a Franchise would be willing to risk liability for my $65/month. Their staff that received my paperwork made an INCORRECT note on my account, the manager was supposed to follow up with me regarding my cancellation request, but instead avoided me completely and had a staff member return my call with his decision, and that was that. What type of management is this? They're so quick and nice to sign you up, but truly lack professionalism when it really comes down to more than receptionist duties. I can see the other reviews dragging this location regarding membership issues - I can confirm they are accurate. I made the mistake of trusting Daren d/t his charm & what I felt at the time was good customer service. I now know different. I signed a membership agreement and did not realize that it was set to auto renew. I did explain to Daren that I'd be leaving the Country. I take full responsibility for my poor judgment in this case however once I asked to cancel the membership I feel it should have been over. I will not speak to the practices of all ME locations but at this one - please DO NOT sign ANYTHING with Daren, he is not to be trusted. When I did reach out to the location I have never heard from Daren again - when I did ask to speak with him I was constantly redirected. This location has manually attempted to charge my account after I rescinded permission in writing. I am aware that many times bitter, scorned people will take to online reviews as a sort of revenge when they are unhappy with things the business could absolutely improve. This is not one of those times. I am leaving this review of my honest interaction & experience with the individual named in this review and this location. I do hope they make positive changes as the service they provide is vital to the community around them. I got a great massage & felt good about the treatment I received from the support staff the one time I was able to go. This review does not in any way reflect on them rather the practices of the management & the people doing 'whatever it takes' to get to a dollar. There's far more to this but not enough time & energy for me to write that novel here. I will resolve the issue. With covid I have 20 months of credits. I did that with all of my memberships to support business during a difficult time. They have had my money for almost two years interest free. I was really looking forward to our relaxing facials but it turned out to be not the experience I was looking for. 1) this place advertises a 60 minute service, but my moms treatment lasted 38 minutes. 2) there are signs about being quiet in the service area but you can always hear the staff yelling, laughing and having personal conversations. 3) I don't want to talk while I'm getting a facial... I want to relax and not move my face...Paris was very sweet but kept asking questions and making small talk. When we checked out, we mentioned the inconsistency in the advertising 60 mins vs 45 mins vs 38 mins... and were basically ignored by the sales person. The number one objective seemed like selling subscription services not providing the best service possible. If you're used to a professional service- this is not for you. read more

Don't bother. Find a massage place that actually has availability. I was so annoyed with this place they never had any openings if they did it would be like Tuesday at 11:00 am . You have to book a massage at least a week in advance to have any hope. It was like doing a 6 month deal with the devil I ended up having 3 months worth of massages at the end because I could never find a time that worked. I went in and attempted to use them all up. But before my last massage I asked about cancelation and the person at the counter lied to me apparently and convinced me to do a pause instead they told me that I could still book my last visit even though I was paused then booked my last visit. Then come to find out I get a call before my appointment and apparently none of that was true and now they wanted another $75 to unpause. New management is awful! I booked a facial for my friend who has never been in before.. and they made me pay for the nonmember rate because I was showing up as a cancelled member...... when it was not me getting the facial. They gave me the rundown how this was a new process and they no longer honor intro rates.. while also saying "yeah, our system wanted to give her the lower rate because she hasn't been in." When I asked, "oh, so it does honor the intro rate?" The man at the front desk says. "Well, it's only in there because our system hasn't updated." They just wanted a sale and couldn't get it.. so made someone else pay an unreasonable price for a FIRST TIMER. The least they couldve done was let me know the price it would've been when I was booking. But 0 communication.. and 0 curtesy. Go to hand and stone if you want to try something out beforehand. The massage therapists are fine, but no one upfront has any idea what they're doing. Also, good luck canceling your membership, they'll try to give you the runaround. This establishment on Mcdowell in Litchfield is the worst massage spa i have ever been to . The membership is a scam , the front desk workers are extremely unprofessional and rude . All they do is talk about clients and laugh behind their backs. It's very hard to schedule appointments because this place is understaff . Then manager is never around . I was in Goodyear from out of town visiting my parents and was looking for someplace to relax and get a massage. My mom had a good experience at this Massage Envy so I decided to book a 60-minute session. Cece at the front desk was awesome in terms of helping to get me checked in, explaining the system they use to select what areas you want worked on, any issues to be aware of, etc. The actual massage with Claudia was very good. We had a few minutes up front for her to ask specific questions about what I was looking for and she answered my questions as well. She continued to check in throughout the massage to ensure I was comfortable and relaxed. The hour flew by and I felt great afterwards. At checkout, Cece explained their membership offerings which I declined since I was visiting from out of town and was quick to get my payment processed and answer any additional questions I had. I have nothing but good things to say about their massage therapist. That's why I was inclined to get a facial here. Although the esthetician was kind she took my back two mins late (302), gave me 5 mins to undress from the waist up and I walked out of the room at 341. When questions she explained they allow 5 mins to undress and dress and 15 mins to chat through products. I initially told her I didn't need any products as I just re purchased and my skin is very acne prone so she could have done more extractions. The gal at the front even thought she ended early. In the end they charged me for a 30 min facial but still incredibly frustrating specifically when you plan your day around an appointment read more

when covid started, I was reluctant to get massages. I tried to put my account on hold but was told they didn't do that. Months later covid was still a major problem and I decided to cancel my membership. When I called they said they now would put my account on hold, but months had gone by while I was paying and they had changed their policy but wouldn't put my account on hold retroactively. The hold was temporary and I renewed it again bu was still unhappy that they had allowed me to continue racking up charges even though they had now allowed members to put their accounts on hold. I decided to cancel my account and they let me transfer my prepaid massages to family members but at and additional cost of $10 per massage. And when I scheduled massages to use up the rest of my prepaid massages, they cancelled and didn't bother to contact me. The manager was there when I came in and didn't think it was important that they didnt' follow up, possibly because he knew I was leaving. The therapists were great, the management policies and attitudes toward clients. read more

I have been a member of Massage Envy for many years. I am now contemplating ending my membership with them as I cannot get an appt. for a massage/facial. If I do terminate my membership, I will have a certain time to use my already paid for massages/facials But, if I cannot get into get a massage or facial, what will happen? Every time I call, they are booked. I have tried all days, all hours and nothing. My card keeps getting charged even though I have not been able to take advantage of what I am paying for. I have called several Massage Envy salons, but to no avail. Has anyone else had to deal with this? It is a perfect sign of poor management. When I lived in Scottsdale, I knew one of the therapists very well. She told me that she only made $14.00 an hour, so she worked on her own time as a mobile therapist to make enough money to make ends meet. These therapists are worth more than $14.00 an hour; maybe that is the problem. Massage Envy cannot hire enough people for $14.00 an hour. I need to get this situation taken care of soon. read more

I have been an ongoing customer since 2014, and having switched between therapists throughout the years. I have to say its been a great three years. The prices are a little bit extreme for my taste, but I have to say its been helpful and worth it by reducing stress and anxiety, thanks to the therapist who always listens. The key is to listen and I appreciate that from the therapist. The front desk can be friendly at times. TABLET: The switch from paper to the tablet, I have to say congratulations! Pretty simple w/out the questions on the tablet. I love the idea, but remove the questionaires, make it simple. From a person who looks at a screen 24 hours a day, thank you. This will be the last time me or my fiancé come to Massage Envy. We usually have a good experience here, but lately it seems like they have become extremely unorganized and unprofessional. My fiancé called last week to schedule me a massage with my favorite therapist, Carenza. It was a complete surprise, and I had no idea that he was planning this for me. When he made the appointment he specifically told them that it was a surprise, and to not call my phone number to confirm, but to call his instead. He was very specific because last year I had booked a surprise massage for him for the location in Avondale, and he received a phone call which ruined the surprise.. Of course... The day before..I got a voicemail.. It was Kayla from Massage Envy calling to confirm my massage for the next day.. He was extremely disappointed that his surprise had been ruined yet again, when he made a point to tell them...He called and spoke to the office and explained what had happened.. She looked up the file, and said that she had no idea why they called, because she could see the notation in the computer stating it was a surprise and to not call. At this point it is what it is, I was still looking forward to my massage and I was fine looking past it. Well. Last night I went in for my 6:30 massage.. The lady up front was very nice, and offered me a free upgrade for the inconvenience, which I was very appreciative about.. I was about to be sent back, and then she introduced me to my therapist, which was not Carenza.. I asked when she would be in next, and they said that they were working out her part time schedule and would find out.. After ten minutes of them trying to call the schedule manager...and asking the other girls in the back, they had no answer for me. Fortunately I do have her contact info, and the girls up front said for me to just contact her personally.. I was able to get a hold of her, to which she informed me that she hasn't worked there for over two weeks and that she shouldn't even be in the schedule.. Poor experiences happen but after speaking with Jamie (regional manager) multiple times about a simple issue it is clear that visiting any location led by her will never happen again for me. Her level of arrogance is unreal. I never want to contribute even a penny to her salary so i did my best to find which locations she is involved with and found that there are 4 and when you read about those locations which includes a few lawsuits I will be sure to stay as far as way as possible from them. The place is good, everything is clean and Henry is a 5 Star, but .... I went yesterday with a therapist that had no idea at all of giving a massage. One hour passed and he was more struggling with the sheets than doing anything. I thought of 11/2h but I am sad I did not leave after the first 5 minutes. It was terrible. I left and the people in reception asked me how it had been, I told that not very good, and she said, let me give you "on thehouse" one tomorrow with a great guy. True Henry was top notch, but when I was done, I come out and they tell me that I have to pay half hour!!! What kind of "on the house" is that. Then actually is better to not give out anything!!!!! Don't be afraid! Go get a massage! I love Massage Envy for what they offer. Affordable massage. Always clean and nicely kept, great scheduling and convenient locations valley wide. They offer many other services as well, facials, heated towels, mineral/therapeutic oils etc. Even some over-priced aroma therapy nonsense but hey, if it works for you, great! The rooms always smell delicious and the music relaxing. Heated towels and beds make for a great relaxing massage. Overall, the therapists are polite and well intentioned but seem to be hit or miss for how I like my massage. If you find a good one, stick with him/her. I went through about seven before I found my favorite - And I'm not telling who! She is always booked way out if that helps narrow it down a little. The only problem I have seen is a high turnover rate among employees. All in all, Massage Envy accounts for an hour or two of absolute "me time" which everyone should experience at least once a month, if not more! For the money, I believe Massage Envy is worth a look and, assuming you find a therapist who works for you, a wonderful value. read more

On November 4, 2021, I booked a massage at Massage Envy in Goodyear, AZ, after receiving a $50.00 online gift card from my son as a fathers day gift. The massage was good but when I went to pay I was told that due to a policy change they no longer accepted gift cards. I expressed my displeasure and asked to talk to the owner. I was informed that he was not on property so I asked that he be called so I could plead my case directly to him. This request was denied as well. When reading the gift card it states " This MassageEnvy.com online gift card is redeemable when presented at any Massage Envy Spa location". The best part is the associate taking my payment asked if I wanted to buy a 6 or 12 month session package. Seriously! Apparently the $50.00 is lost but I will never go back to any Massage Envy. First Responders- DO NOT come here! My wife is an ER nurse and had waited 2 weeks for a massage. Once she arrived for her appointment she filled out a health survey. She has taken care of patients with Covid-19, obviously wearing the proper PPE. According to their area general manager Aliza Clark anyone who may have been exposed to Covid-19 (probably every law enforcement officer,, firefighter, and healthcare worker in Maricopa County) are refused service. read more
