This was my second visit to Massage Envy for both a massage and a facial, and I want to be clear that the quality of the massage itself was excellent. The therapist was very skilled, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere is generally calm and welcoming. However, I do have a significant concern regarding session timing. My massage was scheduled for 11:00, but I wasn't taken back until 11:05, and then needed additional time to change. Despite this, my massage ended at 11:55. A 60-minute massage should reflect a full 60 minutes of hands-on service, and in this case, it did not. This made me feel like I wasn't receiving the full service I paid for. In addition, there was loud talking and laughter in the hallways during my session, which disrupted the relaxation experience and pulled me out of what should have been a quiet, calming environment. This review is not a reflection of the therapist's skill the massage itself was truly great but rather feedback on time management and noise control, which are important parts of the overall experience. Cancels my service an hour prior with only effort of a free enhancement yet if I canceled I would have been charged $100. Not a fair exchange/ value of my time but I have never not respected their time. Manager Samantha is NO peach. Jumps on the phone yelling at me to calm down completely escalating everything because I wasn't happy with the idea my service was canceled. She continued to take my pauses(I have a stutter and try to pause to not have that happen), even stating "you're taking a second to gather your words and I'm going to jump in tell you to calm down because I can." Refusing me to let me speak. When I asked her to let me finish my sentence before she cut me off she told me she would end the call if I kept asking that. I've been there for a facial before where the therapist was 30 minutes late yet completed it in the time slot allotted which isn't fair or valuing my time. This resulted in subscribing to the annual monthly discounted sessions of which I had 6 "Banked" before I terminated the ongoing expense. Although they provided grace period after cancelation for me to use the sessions I was not able to use them all and subsequently left about $400 on the table. I inquired if I could have an extension which the did not afford me. I met some good therapists, but most of them were mid-level at best. If I could give zero stars I would. I scheduled with one massage therapist and was greeted by another, which I thought-no big deal, I'll just go with it. She was EXTREMELY rude to me while asking me what I was there for then just walked right back into the room without knocking after I changed and while I was laying on the table. She was applying virtually no pressure and with ONE hand at that. I asked her to add more and she lifted my entire body and neck off of the table and said, "LIKE THIS????" She scratched my head for about 15 minutes...which was very confusing as I had asked her to only focus on my neck and upper back. Then I flipped over and she started massaging my middle to lower back horizontally across my spine. I've been getting massages for 10 years and have never had a therapist massage across my spine. At one point I screamed OUCH! She had no technique whatsoever and seemed like she was not certified whatsoever. I told the front desk I was not paying as that was a waste of my time and the worst massage I had ever had. I received no apology for being paired with the wrong therapist OR for my inconvenience. I know I was freshly showered and bath-and body-works fresh. As soon as she saw my braids, I knew. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt, but after she tried shaking me around with her one hand massage, I knew I would not continue. Yes I tried to redirect her three times to no avail. As a black woman, middle aged, I know when a person doesn't like me on a personal level, so fifteen minutes in, I left. I have never done that before even when the massage was just okay. I've been very fortunate with great Estheticians at this location. Jane gave me my first microdermabrasion treatment and the results were great! The treatment includes extracting and infusing your skin with the selected Serum by the esthetician. Spring is a great time to do this after the horrible dry winter we had. This treatment is definitely not as relaxing as a regular facial due to the tool being used. It's not painful but you definitely feel what's going on. At the end she showed me what was removed oh. I decided to do something different to celebrate my daughter's upcoming 19th birthday. Since she will be away at college on her actual bday, when she came home for spring break, I made an appointment (3/5/18) for us to have a couples massage. I thought it would make her feel more comfortable with me being either in the same room or right next to her. This was both of our first time at Massage Envy. I LOVED the iPads they gave each of us so we could fill out our profile...so high tech. Then our masseuses came and got us. My masseuse was so petite and her name is Kayla. She had a strong hand shake. So we get to the room and it's really nice and the ambience was amazing. Long story short...my massage was up there with the best that I have had. My daughter said her masseuse (I forgot her name) was amazing also and the whole experience for her first time was one to remember. So upon leaving Kayla mentioned a membership, which I had no clue that they had. I got to the front desk and the lady who checked me out was nice enough to answer all of my questions and was very thorough. Of course, I got the membership. It helped tremendously that there was a March special going on that waived the enrollment fee and it also allowed me NOT to have to pay til April. I also made my next appt which would be for MY bday. I had an appointment on May 3rd at 2pm and rescheduled for later that day at 8pm. The staff was very accommodating to my needs and rescheduled me without any problems. I have a membership that I just purchased a month before. I was rescheduled with Alejandra and oh my God, she was magnificent, she did an amazing job on my deep tissue massage. She had me laughing the entire time, she was so friendly and understanding of my needs for the areas I needed more pressure on. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a deep tissue massage. I definitely want to keep booking my massages with her. I have never had such an amazing massage therapist and I'm glad that I was able to get her because I rescheduled. She's truly a hidden gem. I had an appointment at 1:30pm today August 1, 2023 and I legit walked in at 1: 30pm (I've had chemical peels before) as soon as I walked in no one greeted me I stood for a solid min before being asked my name. I then was told to fill out some paperwork on the tablet and then escorted to the waiting area. I wasn't waiting long at at the person that came to get me seem like she was rushing but I let it go we get the back and she's personable but still rushing through the service when booking on line and in person it states it's a 60 min service. I was done by 1:50pm when I've gotten chemical peels before I was given an experience I was given a facial( not a full facial but enough to assure my skin was clean) and then the peel! I paid the new customer fee which was $130 which in my opinion was not worth it! When leaving out the person with the short colored hair cut didn't believe the other person about the price that she quoted her to give me ( which the person who gave the person checking me out the quote had already confirmed the price with the manager) in front of me blatantly disregarded the quote given to go various on her own! My first massage was scheduled for Friday 8/5/2022 they canceled the same day less then 8 hours to time of service. Needless to say I was beyond upset because now my birthday has came and gone and I still hadn't had my massage and it's hard to get the time you actually want. So we rescheduled for Friday 8/12/2022@5 pm I check in Friday, the receptionist was nice and asked if this was my first time there and I started that it was, she handed me an iPad. I input my information as this is my first time at massage envy for a massage. The receptionist took me back to a waiting area at 5:02pm the massage therapist came to get me a few minutes later. She took me to a room and asked a few questions and left out of the room at 5:07pm I undressed and Bull she came back in the room at 5:10 PM and started my massage she was done with my massage by 5:50 PM she told me that my massage was done and that I could get dressed. I went back to the front and the receptionist asked how my massage was and I started that it was short. She asked what time did she take you in and I told her you took me back at 5:02, she got me at 5:07 she started at 5:10 & I was done by 5:50 e had a brief conversation and I got dressed and back front by 5:57pm. The receptionist apologized and added a free enhancement to my account. I scheduled another massage for the following Wednesday. For whatever reason I thought my massage was at 12 but it was at 11:30, When I arrived the therapist got me right away and told me that my massage would only be 25 minutes & I asked why when we have at least 35 minutes and she started the massages are only 50 minutes max. I said then why was this not explained to me and why am I paying for 60 minutes and not getting 60 minutes? She apologized and said she didn't know why. By the way this massage was great from Carrie. When she was done I went to the front and scheduled another massage with Carrie. After booking the massage I asked the receptionist if you can add on enhancements now and she stated yes, so I asked how much is left on my account being that the first was $75 and to my knowledge the Massage's after that are $65 I should still have $80 left and she stated well the first was $75 and this one was $125 so what's left from that. I asked how do I only have $20? I thought the second massage was only $65. That's when she tells me oh you're not a member! I was never informed about a membership so how was I to know that you need a membership for massage envy? They do not inform you of this in advance and had I not asked about adding enhancements I never would have even found out until I came back next month! This is bad business practices! You have people paying for a hour service and they are not receiving a hot service and you not telling a first time slot membership is also a problem. You could have possibly had me a a member but you never even gave me the option so now you have lost me as a customer! I've always had lower back issues and when I have mentioned it to past therapist they havent ever been able to pin point the area. Well Janet right away found the spot and worked on it. Afterwards i had very minimal pain and was able to move around a lot better without the back pain. She even gave me tips and things to do to help aide in between massages for my back. My massage is tomorrow, will write a review about the service afterwards. Not a good start to what I'm hoping will be a lasting partnership. I've been a frequent flyer to this location for almost 2 yrs. I visit 2-3 xs per month. I'll start with the positives. Most therapists are thorough and listen to what my needs are for that session. Some therapists will go above and beyond and offer a warm towel towards the end of the session which makes a huge difference. Very relaxing. Other therapists enjoy conversation with me, although it is supposed to be a relaxing time, talking is ok during my session. I enjoy the water, tea and chocolate that's offered. The facility and rooms are in excellent condition and clean. Negatives: high turn around for front desk staff. Scheduled appointments are not scheduled on the date/time that is verified with the client. So you'll get a text to verify your appointment but the appointment date/time is not what was communicated when you scheduled. If you have more than 1 card on file the wrong card is charged although the client communicates to charge the monthly fee to the card ending in #1234 and the tip on #5678. A lot of times appointments are cancelled and there is no mitigation effort, no offer to reschedule is made. I encountered 1 awful therapist when both of the other therapists' I see were not available. My appointment was for 1 hr and she massaged me for 30 mins. Additionally, the massage wasn't a massage. Instead she brushed her hand lightly throughout my neck and upper back. She also had a cold and didn't wear a mask. I kept mine on. I didn't say anything to her because she was in a physical condition that was probably preventing her from applying any pressure to another persons body for 8 hrs a day. And finally, the head cushion in every room are awful. They need to be replaced. Super thin and very rough on the face. I will only continue to schedule appointments if the therapist I usually see continuous to work there. read more

The therapist Morgan was very kind and friendly but she didn't adapt to what I needed. I told her I have a lot of knots and buildup in my back and shoulders that I wanted worked on. The massage was so light even after I told her twice that I like firmer massages and asked for more pressure she barely gave anymore pressure. She didn't do good compressions nor move me at all (although that's not important). I don't feel like my knots got any better. She should have given me a deep tissue but she only does swedish. Morgan made me feel as though she was really interested in my skincare and not just trying to make me purchase unnecessary products or procedures. After my massage I asked the manager why wasn't I told in the beginning that the massages were only 50minutes but states clearly 1 hour massages. She tells me, that there is an evaluation done which is included in the hour, prepping of the room and because they are a corporation. Why are they asking me for setting up my appointment to be there 15 minutes early for paperwork.? I could not understand how is it being a corporation or evaluation have to do with what I paid for and what is stated clearly on the menu and on the board that is one hour massage not a 50 minutes, evaluation of room prep because they are corporation that they have to keep things moving.
