So that in mind , it turned into a back rub with unwarm oil , then legs. Omitting arms, hands , buttocks ,front quads. There was money left on the gift card that was just given away. This is our first time visiting Oro Valley, AZ as we are house/dog sitting for a friend. After a few days here, my husband woke up with pain in his upper back and between his shoulder blades. Since we don't know anything about the massage places around here, I said, "ME is nationwide and should be a safe bet". I had an extremely disappointing experience at this establishment. The front desk receptionist was incredibly rude and unprofessional, which set a negative tone from the start. Additionally, the massage itself was below average and lackluster. The overall environment was unpleasant, with a noticeable odor and uncleanliness. To make matters worse, I had booked a same-day massage and was surprised when the massage therapist insisted I wear a mask, even though it was June 2024. This requirement was not communicated to me during the booking process, so I declined to wear the mask. However, the receptionist informed me that I would still be charged for the cancellation, despite the unforeseen mask situation. When I inquired about the availability of the next massage appointment, the receptionist dishonestly claimed that the earliest opening would be in five hours. Eventually, the manager intervened and informed me that they had another masseuse ready for my massage. Frustrated and unable to fully relax at this point, I reluctantly accepted the alternative. Unfortunately, the massage itself was subpar. I had paid for a thirty-minute session but only received about 15-20 minutes of actual massage time. I specifically requested focus on my neck and back, yet the masseuse primarily focused on my neck and shoulders, using an excessive amount of lotion. It left me questioning the qualifications and expertise of their therapists, as it felt like they were simply improvising. Overall, this experience completely ruined my day, and I will never return to this establishment. I strongly advise others to save their money and seek alternative options. The northwest massage envy is a total disaster. The too many piercings guy who greeted us was rude and you could tell he hated his job and hated dealing with customers. He did not greet us. Just threw a tablet at us for our info and was disdainful when we were trying to fill in the info. He should be fired immediately! The massage therapist was equally rude and dismissive- I honestly would not want her "julissa" to even touch me. Her attitude and affect were rude and i was glad we got our excessively costful massage $80. They asked for a tip before the massage because they knew no one would give a tip to that awful person afterwards. Avoid this massage envy at all cost. It was a horrible experience! read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!!! I WAS ASSAULTED HERE. This all took place on September 13, with Drew, at 6:30 p.m. I have been a member for YEARS. I always get different people to massage me, and I have never had a problem anywhere - ever. A few months ago I was massaged by a new man I hadn't worked with before (he happened to be free at the last minute). I had a bad feeling as soon as I met him, but I ignored it. This man smelled unclean, and made me feel filthy. He touched my breasts on multiple occasions while "reaching for my arms", he held the sheet VERY high when he was draping me, he had me roll over and he didn't hold the blanket at all (I literally had to reach over and grab it before it hit the floor and pull it back over me), and it was all adding up to be more than just ignorance or being oblivious. THEN- at the end- he said he was done (I thanked God silently) and then he said HOLD ON AND STARTED DIGGING AROUND UNDER MY SHEETS. He said he lost his watch (what watch...) and thought it was somewhere under my sheets?! He was between my feet- lifting the blanket and "searching for his watch". I took a few days to process the situation, then called the location to report this situation. I have had hundreds on massages and never had an experience like this. Management was all over it right away- called me- and sent a "third party investigator" to call and take my statement as well. I was impressed that they were on top of it. That was months ago. I have requested an update, still nothing. Not another word. I hate leaving bad reviews. HATE IT. Which is why I tried to solve this issue directly. DO NOT GO TO MASSAGE ENVY ON ORACLE UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE SOME STINKY MAN DIGGING AROUND BETWEEN YOUR LEGS "LOOKING FOR HIS WATCH", HAVE YOUR BREASTS TOUCHED MULTIPLE TIMES, OR LAY THERE BASICALLY EXPOSED AND NAKED SINCE THAT IS APPARENTLY HOW MASSAGES ARE DONE NOW. MANAGEMENT SHOULD BE ASHAMED THEY HAVEN'T GIVEN ME ANYMORE INFO OR RETURNED MY CALLS. I'm considering contacting an attorney at this point, since they haven't handled it as they promised. This location of Massage Envy is the most mismanaged business I've ever dealt with. There were some good, friendly people there but now they've left and in general they're rude. Complaining to the location manager does no good, because she's best friends with the area/regional manager. From Sep through end of Dec I we had massaged booked every two weeks, more than half of mine would get cancelled by them within 2-24 hours. Just mine, not my girlfriend's. We will never come back to this location again. As far as I'm concerned, Massage Envy is more stress than relaxing. read more

I have lived in various cities and have been in chronic pain since 1981 (not one painless day). So I have sought out all sorts of modalities that promised to help. Massage about twice a month has been the most helpful in preventing the situation from getting worse. Melissa, at the Northwest Tucson Massage, is the most gifted therapist I have found. Her schedule fills up very quickly, and it's clear why this is. Melissa is very responsive, and she often finds problem areas on her own. She is talkative if I am talkative and is quiet when I am too tired to converse. Her abilities go far beyond training. I believe she has a special gift for this kind of work. I am grateful for several years of therapy from Melissa. Now that I live in Flagstaff it's even more obvious to me. I appreciated the perks that went along with buying gift cards at certain times of the year. They used to be more generous, but in recent years became more limited. Perhaps the management would like to look into this matter. I used to buy hundreds of dollars of gift cards since I needed two appointments per month. This would get me some free 60-minute appointments. Later that was reduced to thirty. Overall, I give high marks to Massage Envy Northwest Tucson. The front desk did a good job with scheduling, with payments for extended sessions, etc. Everyone has always been very friendly and efficient (including problem-solving when the computer required a little TLC to function). They were good about giving me a summary of annual expenditures for tax purposes, as my massages were prescribed and were therefore a medical expense. After desperately needing a massage for several years due to being an athlete, my good friend gave me a gift card to massage envy for my birthday. Instead of getting the hour, I paid more and extended it to an hour and a half. Not only did the massage end about 20 minutes early, it was supposed to be a firm massage, which it was not, the therapist couldn't have been any nicer, but not recommended if you want anything more than a very light, delicate touch. Very disappointed with this massage, very disappointing with the company, as they knew I was done early, nothing was said, except for if I wanted to add a gratuity, which I almost laughed out loud. I did opt in for the massage gun treatment, which was an add-on of $10. I didn't realize he would use the gun for almost half of the time. I own one of those guns, why would I need to use it during a massage that I'm paying for. Sad my birthday present was wasted. should've read the reviews and trusted them. read more

The whole experience was underwhelming. There was really nothing special about the massage or the facial. The facial was done with Murad products which are expensive, and made no difference to my skin. It feels and looks exactly the same. The massage was the most disappointing part of this whole experience. The massage isn't 60 minutes long it's more like 40 minutes. Believe me I kept track. They count in the time that you get undressed and talk about the trouble areas that need work. My appointment was for 12:00 pm the massage ended at 12:45 pm. The massage therapist was very quiet and polite. But she did not address the problem or use the right amount of pressure, even after asking her to adjust the pressure. The best way to describe the way I felt leaving there is unsatisfied and underwhelmed. I guess my expectations were set to high. read more

I went in for a 90 minute massage. Since I was new, I arrived early for all of my paperwork, and I'm glad I did because that paperwork can eat into your massage time. My masseuse was prompt and was great at asking about my massage preferences. The room was relaxing, but perhaps a bit chilly for my liking. It was still quite good, though it did end a tiny bit short of the 90 minutes. Overall, my experience was really positive and relaxing. The front staff were really helpful and kind--the only thing I didn't like was all of the information about the membership plans at the end. It is so much info to process after being blissed out! If you don't buy a plan that day, you will be hit with a joining fee later on if you change your mind. It would be great if there was a 48-72 hour grace period so you can make a well informed choice. read more

i have attempted to set up massages at this location for over 6 months. Each time , I have been cancelled at the last minute or with very short notice. I have paid in advance for these multiple massages and after the third cancellation in a row, I requested my money be refunded after management admited that they do not have enough staff to fulfill my appointments due to excessive turn over. I have been a member of this facility for a number of years. My brother-in-law hurt his shoulder and I decided to give up my scheduled appointment so he could get in with my outstanding therapist. I called and made arrangements for the change only to be told I would have to pay a $10 fee to have someone else use my appointment. I have a contract and the company gets their fee every month from me. This stunt cost them a new customer because my brother-in-law was considering signing up if he liked the messeuse until he heard I had to pay for him to take my appointment. I love my masseuse but I am less than impressed with the company and will terminate when my messeuse leaves. read more

I have had some good massages there but it can be very difficult to get the therapist you want. There are very few therapists there that I feel are worth my business. Many of them seem young and don't seem to care about the client. Because I was having scheduling issues getting in to see my favorite therapist, I cancelled my membership when it was up for renewal. I had one paid massage left and when I called to get an appointment they said since I had cancelled my membership my last pre-paid had expired on 9/7, three weeks ago. I tried to explain the situation but they pretty much said too bad. I could understand if it had been months since I had paid for my last one but 3 weeks! You have got to be kidding me. Another issue I don't like is the hard sell tactics they use to get you to buy a membership or upgrade services. Really! I go there for a relaxing massage not a huge sales pitch! If I like the services I receive, I will continue coming. Making me uncomfortable just pushes me away. I would think if they want to keep members they should honor what you have paid for. If they had more therapists who did really good work, I would have kept my membership. If I want horrible massages, I can go to the schools and get them cheaper. Fortunately for me, my favorite therapist is leaving there. I plan on continuing to use their services privately. I am willing to pay a little more to get good service. I had been a Massage Envy member for years in another state before moving to Tucson, and I was a member here for about 2 years. It took some experimenting to find the right therapists and I recommend Melissa or Cassandra. After I moved my membership here, I had multiple instances of my credit card being used fraudulently at businesses in Tucson, apparently by someone taking the numbers, making a card, and using it locally. I started to notice that it always happened right around my appointments or when my membership dues came out. I also started paying more attention as I was in the waiting area - other customers who would come in and say "oh, my card number was stolen so let me update your files". It's a huge pain in the rear to have to get new cards issued, file the police report, etc. I went with my gut and canceled my membership. Perhaps its only a coincidence, but since I canceled my membership and have gone to another business, the fraud has not happened again. read more

The first day I came things were all messed up, I walked out I was so unhappy. Buttttttt with that being said, I spoke to Jessica (the woman in charge here) and she apologized profusely. She kept quiet while I unloaded all of my frustrations and concerns. She handled herself with grace and my experience today was completely amazing! She not only took care of my hour and a half massage, but she recommended a therapist that was seriously one of the best I've ever had in my life. Her name, I will keep to myself for selfish reasons. While I have been a member here since this location opened. Up until this last year my experience has been great and I've had a number of wonderful therapists. My concern is with this location - 5 of my last 8 appointments have been cancelled at the last minute due to my therapist not being available. Unfortunately they do not have any therapists available when another one is sick or quits. I understand that an illness can screw up the whole schedule, but this last week was inexcusable. It turns out that my regular therapist had retired. I knew this was coming because on February 8th, when booking my appointment for 2 months out, I had been told. The front desk also verified that my next appointment, scheduled for March 4th was confirmed. So on March 3rd I get a call saying that my therapist had retired and they were having to cancel my appointment. What I don't understand is that if they knew back in February that she was leaving, why they didn't schedule me with a different therapist. I have to wonder about the management of this location and how they train their front desk personnel. read more

Massage envy NEVER fails for a bad experience, at ANY location. I have been a member since 2019 I wouldn't be a member if I was able to use up my credits before I get new ones but you can never book enough massages. Lately I have had enough so I've started booking the daily just the get rid of the membership because they do not deserve to be in business as a company it is a scheme, I am never able to book appointments and you won't cancel your membership because you've already paid for those free massages. I walked in today as I had just had a massage the day before, booked an appointment for the next day at the same location and nothing was said while I was there. I walked in today and they told me I could not get a massage (I understand you shouldn't have a massage every day) but I explained why and what I was doing and they still said no, let me book another massage for the next day when I STILL WILL HAVE BACK TO BACK DAYS OF GETTING A MASSAGE. I have been to different states and all the locations have some type of problems and if I could say anything, for the Tucson people, go to rubs it is way better. I have been a satisfied member of Massage Envy for over 6 years....that is until today! This location is about as unorganized and disconnected of any locations I have ever visited. The Front Desk are rude, slow and totally low energy. I have been using this ;location since relocating to Tucson from the Mesa/ Gilbert area. There always seems to be some type of issue just prior to my scheduled appointment (I always make my next appointment prior to leaving-which is 3 weeks out). Today was the final straw though, I received a confirming call at 10:20 AM for my scheduled appointment tomorrow (Saturday)-COOL! HOwEVER, 3 hours later I received another call from this location informing me that my regular therapist is suddenly no longer doing 90 min massages and would I be willing to downgrade to a 50 minute massage? UH...NO! I have been paying for the 90 min massage since staring here. When I asked the Front Desk person (who called to inform of this sudden change) why the sudden change, ESPECIALLY after receiving the conformation call just 3 hours earlier, she had no logical explanation. When I pressed her for more information she replied: "Look, I can downgrade you to a 50 minute massage with your regular therapist or cancel tomorrow's appointment!" REALLY????
