Just got back from the best massage I've ever had... Part of me doesn't want to post this for selfish reasons so it's not harder to make an appointment with Flor! I've had many great masseuses at this Massage Envy location but Flor was perfect for what I was looking for. If you want/need a truly deep tissue massage, she's the person for the job. I have tons of tension in my shoulders and have tried physical therapy, massage and acupuncture to alleviate my knots. The pressure level that Flor used (ensuring it was the pressure level I wanted) couldn't have been more perfect. She really got in there and tackled the knots that have been causing me daily tension/pain and I can tell that just the one session thus far will make a huge difference for me. Furthermore, I had been thinking about cancelling my membership because I'm past my one year commitment but the massage I had from Flor has completely changed my mind. I highly recommend this location (everyone has always been friendly & professional and the facility is always super clean) but I really recommend and thank Flor for such a great experience! I just visited this location for the first time last week and I had such a wonderful experience. The front desk was super accommodating to my last minute change. Parking was super easy and convenient right next to Trader Joe's and I was stoked I could grab some groceries right after my massage. Sophia was amazing and the massage was so relaxing I fell asleep! Bummer for me, but a testament to her skills. I have a lot problems with a super tight lower back and she was able to make it feel noticeably better after just one session. You can't go wrong with the price either. I get massages quite often and you just can't beat the quality of masseuses at Massage Envy. I'm finally getting around to writing this! I love massage Envy & I have visited a few. This location is really nice and conveniently next to Trader Joe's and Macy's. Both my fave's. Awhile back I had a couple of massage's here and I loved them all! Each person was sweet and applied the perfect pressure. I definately recommend them here. My favorite is Maria. I also had a facial by a girl there (I don't remember her name) and that one was really nice...... BUT!!!!! (WARNING!!!!!!!) - there is one girl I had a facial from and she was a nightmare! I feel bad, but I have to warn people. Her name is Angela and she has a very thick accent. I'm not sure if she understood me, but she did a very painful facial! My face was bleeding from her picking at my face. It took her 10 of those minutes to stop the bleeding! She then applied something to my face like a Gel that really hurt and I asked her to take it off, but she didn't understand and waited forever to take it off. With my skin still hurting, she continued to do a very rough massage on my face. She also smelled and I couldn't WAIT for it to be over!!! After I got dressed, she threw all the sheets in the doorway and she hurried me along the hallway. While doing this, she solicited the other clients around. I thought this was so tacky! I HAD TO GET THAT OUT!! Otherwise, this is a nice place and I want to go back for massages and try another facial, but NOT FROM HER!!!! read more

This massage envy location is a great addition to the general Pasadena area. Staffs are very nice and they are very knowledgeable about unique styles of each therapists. I asked for therapists that can do massages in the way I desire, and the receptionist successfully recommended someone who was just right for the job. Also, this Massage Envy allows cancellation 4 hours before the appointment instead of the regular 24 hours. I feel that this policy allows much greater flexibility to customers and definitely would recommend this location to my friends. read more

Love this place! Love it so much that I became a member over 6 months ago and have received all but the best service. Sophia and Jackie give the best massages. The kind of massages that have you sleep 10 minutes in. They pay close attention to your needs and are very professional and kind. I also go to Anna for facials and my skin looks young and refreshed. Ana is very professional and knowledgable. The front office staff always greet me with a smile and by my name. This review is for a prenatal massage I had yesterday with DIANA. She. Is. Magic. I have had a lot of massages in my day, and a certain percentage of them is always spent grimacing a little wondering why they're using too much/too little pressure, or wondering if they're on the bone or on a nerve. Diana hit the mark EVERY TIME. I was in heaven, and told her often. I like a quieter massage, and she completely took my lead as far as conversing goes. My needs were met, exceeded, and then some! But the best part was after I left. I was so happy and relaxed all evening, and I finally slept 8 hours last night for the first time this entire third trimester! And when I woke up this morning? My massage was terrible!!! It felt like the therapist was jabbing me with a stick the entire time. I asked her to use firm pressure, but not poke me and she was unable to accommodate my request. Seriously? Every other massage therapist I've ever had has been able to give me a great massage. Here comes the good part. I recieved a gift card with a $75 value. On their website, it says it's good for a "one-hour massage plus gratuity." Well, I get to the front desk and they say that the massage cost is $98 !!! (because I've gotten a massage at another location 3 years ago and I'm in the system !!!!) So, I had to cough up $29 to receive this "gift" !!! Bad business!!! read more

I pass by Massage Envy everyday when going to the gym and randomly decided to walk in and get a massage. Everyone was so kind, friendly and helpful at the front desk that I decided to sign up for a membership before I even got my first massage from them. I cant recall who gave me my first massage, but it was decent. I remember thinking it was definitely worth the price of the membership but it was nothing spectacular. Two weeks later I made an appointment for my second massage with them. This time my appointment was with Maritza. I have had a lot of massages over the years and I can easily say that this massage was by far the best massage I have ever had. Far better than anything I have had at any of those other fancy high-priced spas. She asked what areas I wanted her to focus on and she made sure that by the time I left they were 100% better. She did an amazing job. It was so good that I made another appointment to come back the next day. I would highly recommend Massage Envy to anyone and although I am sure all their staff is great, I would suggest you ask for Maritza. read more

When I first started going in to see Angie I was getting shooting pain in my bad an shoulders, and had terrible tension headaches pretty much daily. After working with her for several months, I no longer have shooting pain, my shoulders are staying relatively loose, and I am down to going in once a month. Love it! I'm pregnant with my second child and am finally taking care of myself with prenatal massages. I first visited the Hastings Ranch location and wasn't happy with the therapist there. I'm now being seen by Steve at the Lake Ave. location and he is fantastic. I was a bit unnerved by a male massage therapist (especially for a pregnancy massage) but he definitely knows what he's doing and is not afraid to apply pressure. He is also certified to massage up to 90 minutes, which is great because 60 minutes is not enough. (Note that not all locations are permitted to provide prenatal massages more than 60 minutes in length - odd but i speak from experience). Very professional staff, great location. I do not recommend this place. They require a credit card number just to make a reservation. There are plenty of worthy places that do not require this, even places that charge half the amount of what they are asking for. They will debit your account for the full amount of the massage if you need to cancel or do not like your massage after it has begun. I think this is a horrible business practice, nothing to support and highly pretentious. I do not pay for services not rendered, nor do I stay in a massage that clearly is not doing its job. I resent the imposition of forcing customers upfront to pay. I think it's a nasty thoughtless business practice. I don't care if their masseurs speak English. It's no excuse. They just lost one very reliable massage client with me. I don't care how great they think their massages or facilities are. Unbelievable. No way! read more

When I came in, I was greeted by such a lovely and friendly front desk staff. My massage therapist Angie really focused on my pain areas. Receptionist staff is not polite nor member centered. Terrible experience with reception as they indicated that calling for reminder appointments are a courtesy and not mandatory. First time going to this business and I was disappointed. It was my birthday so I had hoped for a better experience. My rating is both for the location and the therapist. Entry way is tiny and did not exude a spa feeling. The quiet room where you wait for your therapist smelled of B.O. Other spas I have been to (even mom and pops) usually has a nice smell upon entrance so this is more of feedback for this establishment. I arrived 7 minutes early, used the restroom and then waited to sign some waivers. I got into my room and was laying on the bed by 5 minutes after my appt start time. The therapist didnt come in until 5 mins later putting us at 10 minutes past my appt time. She then finishes 5 minutes before the end of my appt time. My therapist was Lerissa. I felt she lacked technique in her massage and towards the end I was cringing because when she massaged my neck her fingernails kept digging into my neck. She also kept doing the same massage over and over (possibly just to finish up the time? Or due to lack of technique/experience?). I also informed her I liked firm pressure but what I got was finger pressures that was uncomfortable on my back. Sigh. I really had higher hopes for this establishment. They provided an introductory rate for new clients which was a nice surprise but also made me feel better that I didnt pay full price for the massage. This place is more expensive than Burke Williams and at BW you actually get a way better experience for the price you pay AND access to their amenities. read more

Having previously been a member of a mediocre Massage Envy in the Bay Area, I know this can't be taken for granted. For my birthday (and for which I start celebrating several days in advance...) I decided to get a long-overdue massage. As a runner, my upper body had become extra knotted - I'm sure desk work/lifting cases of wine at my day job didn't help. Maritza was my massage therapist, and I booked an hour-long Swedish session. The facility is really nice (for a step below, say, Burke Williams) and the staff was really friendly and professional. I was happy with the massage - Maritza really listened to my preferences and was able to work a lot of the knots out, I'm still feeling loosened up and refreshed. However, it was definitely a session that matched its price - $49 I believe; if it was more expensive, I'm not sure it would have been totally worth it. (This was the introductory price.) The 3-star rating is a result of how the experience ended. I was super relaxed and calm, ready to just pay the bill and enjoy the rest of my day, when the front desk attendant tried to hard-sell me on their monthly membership (something like $60 a month, which gets you a $39 hour massage instead of full price.) I was definitely not interested, which I politely mentioned - I had planned, rather, to visit every few months for a longer massage instead. I insisted I was not in the position to purchase a membership, but she continued explaining the program to me - even after I (once again) politely declined. She then added something about a less expensive/3-month membership (AGAIN, I was *not* interested) which I also politely declined. I left feeling annoyed and frazzled - in hindsight, I had tipped on the promotional cost of the massage and thought I should have tipped on the full price, but I don't ever plan on returning. I absolutely HATE being cornered about memberships/discounts/deals in general, but after a massage? WTH are they thinking? Definitely lost my business. read more

She's the best massage therapist I've ever seen and I've been to some pretty fancy places. I am a tattoo artist and my job has me sitting bent over people all day and it destroys my back.
