This was my first time coming in to Panda Cozy Spa because I'm usually pretty loyal to my masseuse out in Los Feliz but I'm so glad I came and tried this massage place. I visited Panda Cozy Spa for the first time last Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, for my appointment for a couple's Swedish or Deep Tissue Massage with Essential Oil from 11:00 -12:00 PM. Booking Appt: Booking the appt over the phone was a breeze. I called a few days before noon, easily booked the appointment, and told them I had purchased a Groupon. They called in the morning and confirmed the appointment. My husband and I were running a little late, but they were gracious to us and we were greeted by the friendly manager (I believe) in the front when we arrived. Massage Experience: Our couple's massages were in separate rooms with an open door connecting the rooms. When we were ready for our massages and our masseuses came in, my husband's masseuse greeted him, but mine stayed silent. She actually stayed silent and never spoke throughout the whole massage - never asking whether or not the pressure was sufficient. Now, I am usually too shy to speak up myself so I usually feel more comfortable speaking about the pressure but only when asked lol. So, I felt like my massage was not as hard as I would have liked, and it did not feel like deep tissue. Their technique was a mix but primarily involved using their forearm to go over spots of your body, so both my husband and I felt like the massages were not targeted and did not get out specific knots that we had. I did, however, enjoy the part where they massage your face and scalp due to her stronger fingers- it's the experience you want when you get a facial. Our massage was supposed to be with essential oils (CBD/Rose/ or Lavender Oil), but my husband and I were never asked our preference, so we did not receive that and our masseuses just used their regular non-fragrant oils. One last thing I did want to point out that truly bothered me was that the area where I put my face down smelled like mildew (wet towel smell). I'm unsure if it was due to the towel placed on the back of my head, but the whole time I was face-down, I smelled mildew/wet towel, which further ruined the experience since I just hate that smell. Also, something to note is that the rooms are separated from the outside by curtains, so they are not exactly soundproof. When the massage ended, we were not offered water (okay, I know I sound picky, but it's the little details that just add to your experience). We then left cash tips for our masseuses. Parking: Since we were running late, we were struggling to find parking, so we ended up parking at a nearby hotel's parking lot. There is minimal street parking available, and I believe there is a nearby parking lot. I recommend getting here earlier to find parking before your appointment! Honestly, I had higher expectations for Panda Cozy Spa due to all the positive Yelp reviews. I was actually really looking forward to our couple's massage since my husband and I have been stressed. My review actually leans more of a 3.5, but I'm rounding up. When we left, the male manager asked for our opinions, but I couldn't bring up the courage to tell him my true thoughts about our massages. Although my overall experience was decent, I was not as impressed with my massage here and would opt for another place to book our next massages. read more

Got a couples massage from Groupon for $120 and the massage itself was okay. Nothing great, but okay. They asked us to come in earlier than our scheduled time, and that was no issue. However, when we went to pay they urged us to tip which we had planned too. I tipped them 18% so $21.00. They asked me how much I tipped them and they were like, "Each? Or for the both of us?" This caught me off guard and I let her know it was for the both of them. They let out a laugh and were clearly not satisfied. I thought that was pretty rude and I assumed we were done but they had us wait while they called their boss to confirm how much we paid on Groupon. The laughing that was taking place really rubbed us the wrong way. After, they let us know we were good to go. Quite honestly, the 18% was generous and is the standard at other spas. There's a lot of great reviews of this place, but I know I'm not the only one who had this same experience.
