When I moved back from Florida, I was so thrilled to see Rock Hill had FINALLY got a Massage Envy Spa! I had an experience with this clinic in particular when I had come to visit a few months prior to moving back - to say the least, it was an awful experience (I'll explain later). I was skeptical to give it another try and then I found out there was new ownership as well as management. After a couple months, I caved and I called to set up my first appointment for a much-needed massage. I was lucky enough to get their Clinic Administrator when I called and I explained my previous experience (along with my conversation with the previous clinic administrator when I complained about the service) and what I was looking for. She completely understood and said that things have certainly changed so I set up an appointment for myself as well as my mom. We went in and were greeted with smiles, instantly I could tell there was a difference in their customer service. We completed our paperwork - it had been awhile, we needed to update - and were greeted shortly after by our therapists. (My past experience: my 90 minute massage session was about 65 minutes hands-on time as they were 18 minutes late to pick us up and ended 7 minutes before our scheduled time. Even though I like a medium-deep pressure, a feather would have provided more depth than the therapist. When I complained, I pretty much got an "oh well" and was required to pay for the whole session.) Due to my past experience, I watched the clock like a hawk. Our therapists actually gave us an additional 5 minutes! I'm not sure about her therapist, but my therapist kept asking (not too much, probably 2-4x throughout the session which is adequate) about the pressure which was spot on to what I told her when we started. Her flow and technique were perfect. I am definitely excited that the Rock Hill clinic is under new management and ownership. I have already been back for a facial (again, another wonderful service, the esthetician listened to my concerns and pointed out what I even forgot to mention) and was rather impressed as well. I like that I've been able to call and get a same day appointment, if not within 24-hours. If you were in prior to the change in ownership/management and had a bad experience, definitely worth trying again! :) read more

I am waiting for a gift card credit of $90 due to me For an overcharge on 12/17. I have followed up three separate times since then and it still not been resolved. The manager called me after posting a negative review and promised a credit for the error. I am blown away that they don't care at all about their word or their reputation. I've gotten so many facials at various Massage Envy's, but this by far was the worst facial experience I have ever received. Just to start off, the session was at 9am and my esthetician wasn't welcoming. When we began my consultation about what my skin goals were, it felt as though i was talking to a wall--no personality, no smile, felt like she didn't want to be there. With the actual facial itself--The room was extremely dark, how can you see what you're doing to my face in a dark room? How I knew the room was too dark was because when she finished with the cleanser, there are tiny beads that help with exfoliating and she turned the bright light over my face to do my skin care analysis and she was continuing to pick off/wipe away tiny beads from my skin and then blaming it on the product instead of blaming it on her own technique. I knew that this esthetician wasn't experienced and her demeanor reflected that. There were many steps that were missing from the actual facial--I didn't get any massage time and her reasoning behind that was "we were doing extractions." She only touched my face and never worked the products into my neck and décolleté area. Why would I pay for a service, if I'm not even receiving the whole service? We only have 50 min of hands on time in a 60 min session and time management was horrible. If a front desk associate is breaking down a session to me and telling me what to expect and my service provider doesn't do what is expected will I come back? Absolutely not. When the facial was over, the esthetician didn't recommend any take home products or even tell me good bye. It's little things that makes the experience a wholesome one but this store missed the mark. Spoke with the front desk girl and she didn't charge me for the session, but she did say a manager would call me to talk about the incident and I haven't gotten a call and my appointment was 5 days ago. Very unprofessional and won't be coming back or recommending this location to my friends and family. read more

This office staff is SO not up to date on all the policies. They can never tell me my correct balance on my account. Last week I was told that I had 2 1/2 sessions left and I used 1 1/2. I, basically, am screwed out of a 60 minute session. I had a 6 month package and only went 5 times and the manager, Ashley, told me I had nothing left. She seemed agitated talking to me and was talking to others while on the phone with me. She also told me that another manager would call me today. Needless to say that has not happened and it's 8:30 pm. I'm just sorry that Jedediah and Ty will not get any more of my business as they are great! Sorry customer service!!!!! I have been going here off and on for years. They will not get another dime from me. Take my advice and find somewhere else!! read more

Terrible customer service. Apparently, there was an error made with their system and they were not able to secure the monthly payments for my credit card. I had 10 massage credit built-up and I get a call from one of their associates saying that they wanted me to pay back payments. Thinking of canceling my membership with them but first I'm going to try to call the corporate office and tell them what a terrible company they run. read more

However, as soon as I walked out of the room, I tensed up again because a sales person immediately approached me in an attempt to sell me a long term package. Kris is the best massage therapist there hands down. The rest, not sure what they are but it was pretty awkward and a waste of time and money. Sign up for a monthly 6 month deal, pay $70 a month, you've basically agreed to sell your soul. I've had many massages in my life time and Kris is your girl. Make sure you end the contract before it's up because god forbid you have to put up with their annoying calls every month where they have frozen your account after you have told them numerous times your bank switched from visa to Mastercard and you've given them the info EACH time but THEY keep putting it in the wrong place. So NO I will NOT be going back because CLEARLY there are NO BRAINS running this operation. That is all. The choice is yours. There are very good massage therapists out there that work independently that don't make you sign a contract making you pay a certain amount and making you come to see them for so many months. This place is a scam. But like I said, you don't have to take my word for it. read more

This location sold my dying mother in law a 12 month membership. We called to say that she can longer make it in for these treatments. At this point, with everything our family is going through, our options are to wait until she dies and bring in a death certificate or go get a letter from her doctor. My mother in law was told she could cancel at any time - she's 70 with stage 4 lung cancer - maybe she misunderstood, maybe she didn't, but this is a downright shame. The woman on the phone was rude and had no empathy for our situation. Her response was "go look at your contract". Just downright sad that places like this can take advantage of the elderly. read more

This place told me that my account had been cancelled back in January, but yet they continued to charge me for the last 3 months. Jasmine told me that they sent me the cancellation email but then discovered that they had the wrong email address for me, and blamed me for it being in the computer wrong. The therapist was great-I give her 5 stars, but the fact that they pay these people next to nothing while they get rich off of their work is terrible. The girls probably make $20 off all of their hard work, so make sure you tip them well. read more

If you ever need a deep tissue massage, please request Samantha U from this location. I just received a 60 minute massage and my lower back pain has melted away for the time being. She was very thorough and kept me relaxed the entire session. The front desk staff was unbelievably helpful as well. I will be visiting this location again. read more

Well I scheduled a chemical peel and got a call stating they had chemical peels on back order. I was recommended the microderm infusion. I was told it gives some what of the same results. This was my 1st time getting this done, so I didn't know what to expect. However I did want to feel like my face was clean & refresh. Well.... when I got in and to the back the ESTHETICIANS said I seemed "up tight" and I'm not sure what she meant or got that I was up tight. I thought that was very rude concerning I was not getting a massage. She started asking what was my facial routine and I told her. She went in on how store bought products are not effective as the ones they have, which is not true because just because they are expensive does not mean they are effective. She asked me my age and how it's different products for different ages like I was an old women. And I know what she was saying was not that bad but her vibe had me feeling so uncomfortable. As she starts the process she put this cream on my face and I had to ask what it was, something she should have been explaining from the jump.The whole experience and vibe of was not good. I left out feeling like what she done was a waste of $110. Literally something I could have done at home. So it bothered me and I called to massage envy to tell them how I felt. The rep states that she never had any complaints about Frances and she always heard her tell customers good things. Mine you the esthetician told me she only been there for a couple months and they probably hang out because she is new to the area. If a customer call in to tell you how they felt, you don't turn around and make them feel like what they are saying is not true. I will never go back to this location again, and I'm like 5mins away. Worst massage ever! I scheduled an 1.5 hour full body massage (even clicked every area, except pecs on the iPad when I checked in) When we talked I mentioned that in the past I have had sciatic problems. She startws out with massaging the back of my legs...never once asked if the pressure was ok... she then massages my left shoulder and arm, 1/2 asses the right side then rubs my neck and scalp. I had to ask for her to rub my lower back and hips with only 5-10 mins left in the session. Never once had me flip over. Complained to the front desk and was pretty much told it was my own fault for not telling Reece step by step how to give a massage. read more

I had such a great experience. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the couples massage. I had Josh, he was very professional and the massage was excellent. The team welcomed us and treated us so nice, they were so professional. They explained everything while we filled out forms on an iPad. I definitely scheduled another appointment next month. I also purchased some therapeutic oil. They have a variety of options to choose from. I chose the peppermint. 5 stars from me! Great job read more

For Christmas, my boyfriend got me a gift card to get a couple of massages. I have been having low back pain for 6 plus months and it bothers me almost every day. While there, my masseuse focused on my low back and gluteal muscles to help relieve some of my back pain. My masseuse was able to tell me that my left piriformis muscle was showing some inflammation and irritation and that is probably why I was having low back pain. After the massage, my back felt released and stretched. The next day I went to work from 7am-4pm and my low back/left gluteal muscle did not hurt all day. It is normal for me to have a pinching sensation in my left gluteal or low back soreness, especially because I stand all day at work. However, my back did not hurt at all and I was finally able to feel some relief. Obviously the massage did not cure me because a couple days past and I still get a pinching sensation in my gluteal, but I feel more loose in my back and feel like a great deal of tension has been removed. read more

This was my first massage and I was looking really forward to it. First, let me say my massage therapist was Wonderful!!! She knew exactly where my pressure points were and since my appointment, my pain and tightness I was feeling have been completely gone. I am able to sleep better and feel so much better overall. I would give Massage Envy 5 STARS if my experience when leaving was not so negative. After my massage, I was so completely relaxed and ready to start my day. Everything had been such a pleasant experience until I was ready to checkout. Upon checkout I was presented with the option to pay for a membership. I felt as if the membership was more so "pressured and pushed" on me right after I exited the massage door. The employee spoke extremely fast about everything concerning the membership and would not take NO for an answer. She was extremely pushy and at that point my relaxing experience had just turned into a negative experience. She really started to irritate me as she was being so pushy and wondering why I would not join-- asking for reasons. The conversation should have ended at No, Thank You. For this reason, I will not be returning and this is a shame because like I said, my massage therapist was Fabulous! read more
