Signed up for an account over 2 years ago, tried to cancel the account at the beginning of the month, but of course a manager has to do it and I never got a call back from the manager. My recurring charge date was the 18th of every month, so on the 13th I called again to cancel and they said they would have a manager get back to me. Manager never got back to me so I called yesterday after I saw my account was charged again, finally got a call back from the manager Bella and I asked to have the account canceled and the $80 credited, which she said she can't credit back, which is ridiculous, of course they can credit it back. This place is very large for A Massage Envy. Nice entry, there is a comfy waiting room after you have signed in, the treatment rooms are very nice. There was a nice warming pad on the table which felt great! I had a 90 minute massage with Bianca, who did a great job! Since I had never been here before, the rate was introductory at $130. From the minute you walk in, the staff starts their sales pitch. They bombard you with suggestive sells. They push membership and continue to sell to you the entire time you are there. The masseuse even pushed the membership and tried multiple times to get me to add on to the massage. Really aggressive sales pitch. But, the massage is great. Both times I went, excellent massages. I will not be back because I want to relax when I get a massage. I do not want high pressure sales coming at me the entire time. read more

Putting this here as well since this started at my home Massage Envy location Customer of Massage Envy for 10+ years. I decided to cancel my membership on August 24, 2023. due to my home location (Tempe) not having therapists available to do deep tissue work. I've even attempted to book at their various locations across the valley. It's usually hit or miss. Plus usually after finding someone that knows what they are doing, they end up leaving the company or reducing their hours. At the time of cancellation, I had 2-hours worth of time on my account. On September 11, I got lucky to book a 90-minute session with Aiden at the Dobson (Mesa) location. I've seen him several times and was super excited to have him as my last therapist. He's amazing at what he does. After my session, I mentioned to the Teia, the front desk person, that it was my last session and mentioned that I had 30 minutes left. She stated that if I wanted to, I could book an hour stretching session, use my remaining 30 minutes and pay the difference which would have been $34.00 bucks. Fast forward to today, September 18. After my session I was presented with a bill for $125.00 instead! Teia, same person from last week, mentioned they had issues pulling up my account and wouldn't be able to apply the credit or give me the rate that was promised. She also stated that for me to be able to use my time, I'd have to sign up again. Wait...what?!?! The cancellation form mentioned that I had at least 30-60 days to use any remaining sessions in my account, so I know that was a total lie. She also stated that this has happened to other customers when they cancelled their accounts. Why wasn't I informed of this before my session? I received two calls from them earlier today. The first one wanted to know if I wanted to come in at 3:00 instead of 3:30pm. The other one asked if I wanted to 30-minute stretch session followed by an hour massage. I answered the second call and told them I wanted to keep the appointment I already had with no changes. Had I known I was going to be stiffed with a $125.00 "non-member" bill, I wouldn't have booked the session. I'm glad that I will no longer have to waste my money on a company that offers limited modalities for being such a big chain. I was able to find a massage therapist that has a wider range of availability and provides the services I need (deep tissue, cupping, ART, percussion) without all of the added fluff and at a reasonable price. Side note: The girl at the front desk asked if I was going to leave today's therapist a tip... I really had to bite my tongue. If I could give no stars, I would give 0 stars. I have been a client forany years author a severe autistic daughter. My daughter has ups and downs and I bought her a membership a few years back which I paid religiously. She turned 18 and I became her legal guardian. She is very sick now and to protect her interest and the people that work there ( she tried to attack a massage therapist once and I was told I have to be in the room), I was told she had to leave because of crying and screaming) I went to cancel today and they did not let me cancel. Even as her guardian. She does not speak, she does not know how to count money, or to use a credit card As her mother and guardian, I have to protect her rights. Not letting the Arizona guardian since her bday, she is 18, is trying to steal money from her. Is a federal crime to discrinate against a person with a disability. read more

I love my therapist but my friend who doesn't drive and I pick up in apache junctio had his first massage at this location scheduled at the same time as mine. We received a text 90 minutes before our scheduled massage that his therapist was heading home for the day and his massage was canceled. We were already on the 60 heading that way as he had a few errands to run before the appointment. I decided to let him have my 90 minute appointment since it had been a year or so since his last one and he really needed the therapy. We were there a few minutes early so he could renew his membership and I let them know I was very unhappy with the short notice. They apologized but that was it. I have been a massage envy client off and on for years and was a bit disappointed that that was the end of it. O well. I will still be coming here for now. A few weeks ago on a Sunday evening, I attempted to reschedule my booked appointment for the next day due to getting sick. Unfortunately they close earlier on Sundays and waited until the next morning to speak to someone. A woman named JORDAN answered the phone I explained I wasn't feeling well, had a fever and needed to reschedule. Her demeanor and tone immediately changed. She became very terse and kept repeating "well we're going to have to charge your account." I totally understand the company's polices as I have been a member for close to ten years. It was her tone that is my complaint like I was putting her out. Massage Envy is supposed to be the place to go to unwind and be at peace, not agitate their guests. Believe me it would have been nice to just reschedule my appointment. Her tone was so nasty. I wasn't feeling well and out of frustration said perhaps I should just find another location then. She replied that's fine and hung the phone up on me while I was still speaking. I was never able to reschedule my appointment which proved to me JORDAN was not listening nor cared. I don't know if she was having a bad morning or what, but honestly as a guest that's not my concern. I attempted to lay down as now I was feeling worse. I attempted to call back a few hours later. Again JORDAN answered when I asked for a manager her tone once again changed. I suspect she recognized my sick voice from earlier. I hung up and decided to wait a few more hours. Upon my third attempt to call JORDAN once again answered, and like before the minute I spoke her tone was dismissive and condescending. Again I asked for a manager. She replied they aren't available. Then I asked for the General Managers contact info, she replied no one is here to help you only I can I'm a lead. I was shocked they'd give this individual any leadership role as she was incapable of speaking professionally to a customer. At this point I realized I was not going to get anywhere with this one. I waited until evening to call a fourth time, figuring JORDAN would be off. I spoke to a young lady very nice and helpful. Or so I thought she gave me the managers email address and upon returning back to my call she said she called the manager to notify her I was trying to get a hold of her. That evening I sent an email to the manager that was given to me by this young lady. Here it is 3 weeks later and have not heard back from anyone. I used to love going to this location, the past manager there was very kind and welcoming. I also feel bad for the massage therapists that have no clue that the front end namely JORDAN at this location is turning away clients. I am further concerned that the manager seems not to care or is unaware what is going on with her front end. Believe me I have better things to do than write negative reviews for a place that I loved to go to but I wanted to shed some light on my experience since I was unable to speak to anyone at this location thanks to JORDAN. I have lost this months credits and faith in this location. Now I have to wait until the end of next month to get a massage at another location. All because of this one persons ineptness thanks JORDAN for opening my eyes to your unprofessionalism and the managers follow up. read more

I've had a massage envy membership for a few years now, the pricing of the membership and additional massages is a great value. This location is one of my favorites. The front desk staff are great - super helpful and always willing to answer any questions about additional services. They also have some really great massage therapists here - Jason and Alex are phenomenal. The scheduling is also fairly easy - I usually wait until the end of the week to schedule a massage for the weekend once I know my plans and can almost always get in. I enjoy using the app so I can peruse for which times would work best with my schedule. My only complaint about this location is there have been a few times where I've requested a firm massage and the pressure wasn't quite at the firm level so I didn't get my knots worked out as much as I would have liked. read more

Massage therapist Lynn is exceptional. I have been getting massages for decades and she is a real healer. I can't say enough about Lynn and I wouldn't even be posting this if she wasn't so good because I wouldn't come back to this location but she's there so I'm torn and I have to post this review and hopefully they'll let me back. As I'm finding with most Massage Envy locations, there are very many excellent massage therapists. Unfortunately, at the same time, the public facing people at the counter don't get customer service and most of them don't care and I guess it's just a job not a career. And, as a business person I understand the business model and the need to continually get new clients, but massage Envy goes overboard so much it's so obvious and to me so obnoxious. People light up when they have a chance to sell a new customer I guess because they get commissioned but you know the existing customers are customers too and deserve customer service. There is often a no can do attitude and indifference. The reason I'm writing this is I had a wonderful wonderful incredible massage from Lynn and I was so relaxed and I got so much energy afterwards and then I went out to the lobby and the one woman who was working behind the desk was on the phone I couldn't help hearing she's going through the different plans trying to sell the benefits to a prospective customer which is great if you have someone else there waiting on people but there's no one else there. She went through these options and more options with this woman and then this is already 15 minutes after I finish my appointment and I want to leave I need to go drink some water I need to get some breakfast I need to do other things massages important to me but it takes a lot of time to drive and get massage and the last thing I want to do is wait around to pay. This location I don't think has my credit card on file and I had told her it to the beginning when I got here when she wasn't busy and she said I will take care of it when you leave well it's now 9:50 50 minutes after my session and it is still not taking care of. At 20 minutes after my massage was over and I was in the lobby I heard her then finish up with the one woman and then she said okay now let's go over and she said a name I think it was like a plan for your husband or maybe your husband and your son whatever I overheard that's when I thought okay I'm being a nice guy too long maybe she thinks I have a card on fall but regardless there's no way to leave a tip online I wish you could do everything online and not have to deal with people who don't care. I spent all this money I got a great massage and now I'm completely aggravated and I'm wasting 15 minutes letting you know what goes on when you're not there which most owners need to know or should know if they care and if you're not there you don't know and most appreciate being told so I'm doing that I hope you are appreciate it and I hope you don't block me from coming there I would love to see Lynn again but I don't have to deal with shitty disrespectful rude service so I apologetically interrupted her quietly holding up my credit card after I put it on the counter 10 minutes earlier and she completely ignored it and completely ignored me. She could have said excuse me can I put you on hold for a second and at least tell me oh I'm sorry I'm the only one here today and and I'm talking with a new customer do you mind if I finish up instead she was like when I asked her can you take my credit card or can I tell you what to tip is I want to tip in you can't do it online. And then she says to me oh just wait I'm finishing up soon so then I waited another 10 minutes inside it's now 9:25 after my 8:00 massage so I motion to her and said I'll be back I went out and did some stuff at my car I came back in she's still on the phone she's still didn't look up at me. So then I drove away and I figured she would call when she got off the phone so I can leave a tip because whenever I call there I'm just going to get a voicemail and I'm not going to leave my credit card number on a voicemail. So now Lynn's going to get out of her next appointment and see that I left without paying and then tipper so I'm probably not coming back. Dear owner because I don't want to talk to that woman and I want to talk to you call me and I'll give you my credit card number and I'll tell you what the tip should be. And if you don't call I'll report you to the better Business bureau I'll report you to the Arizona massage therapy because I see you've had complaints from your businesses of of sexual assault this is is this the type of business you're just going to let run on its own unbelievable. Today I enjoyed a facial with Elizabeth .. she is very sweet and knowledgeable .. has a great touch and asked how I was doing, how the temperature and touch felt.. she told me what she was doing along the way. Location was a little tricky to find the first time, but this place is great. The staff is always friendly. The facility is always clean, which is definitely a must. I always schedule with Ashley. I like a medium to firm massage and she does it perfectly each time. She's very friendly and will make sure I'm comfortable throughout the entire massage. She also has tips and will have information on articles she's read about muscles, workplace desks, etc. Which is great and I love hearing about them. read more

The massages I received at this location were good. My review is based on customer service, or the lack thereof. I moved out of state and stopped by this location in August 2022, to cancel, in case I needed to sign anything. Two ladies there, both said "No, you can actually do that online". Great, came home, processed cancelation, or so I thought. Corporate says it's forwarded on to the branch, which is owned by a franchisee. Here we are in January 2023, I've tried REPEATEDLY to get this account canceled. I spoke to Angela in December who tells me there's a form to sign and e-mails it to me. I haven't signed it yet b/c it says on the document that I understand I'm not due a refund of any payments made. The heck I'm not!! I reached back out to Corporate- oh the branch has to process any refunds. The branch says, oh, Corporate has to process any refunds. I'm out $349.95 and their due to charge me again any day now. I called yesterday to book my partner and I a massage at 10am, they told us to arrive 15 mins before hand, right before we were about to leave my partner receives a call from Andrea saying Katie is sick and would she like to reschedule, my partner told her she had to talk with me first since I was the one who booked. I said that wouldn't make sense for me to get a massage and not you since when we both had an appointment. So I called the store.. no answer. I called again.. no answer. I told my partner to call from her phone.. no answer. So I call one more time on my phone and I finally get answered. I asked Andrea if there was anyone else that could do her massage she said no unfortunately not I said okay no problem you can go ahead and cancel both appointments. That was the end of the conversation. I receive a call back from Andrea stating that there would be a 50% charge to my card because of the cancellation.. WHEN SHE NEVER DISCLOSED THIS INFORMATION TO ME EVER!! Not yesterday when I booked. Nothing!! Very extremely unprofessional and frustrating, let alone the customer service is unbelievable. I was a member there for almost 7 years. I had a hard time using up my monthly massages so I cancelled the membership. When I canceled, it took about 60 days and many calls and emails to get the cancellation to go through. once we finally got through all the telephone calls and emails and got that taken care of I had 60 days to use up all the hard-earned money I had with them. Seems a little unfair that you have 60 days to use that up. I gave away as many as possible and at 60 days had to let some expire. I have been going here for almost a year now and am practically never disappointed. All the masseuses I've had have been extremely professional and used great massage technique to provide me with a wonderful massage experience (Regina and Mandy, to name a couple). There was only one instance with someone else where I felt like that the pressure was not enough (even after I voiced my concern), but it has never happened again. Each time you come in for a massage you discuss your current concerns and level of pressure desired, and I feel like they have hit the mark nearly every time. In regards to their skin care, I am extremely thankful for Elizabeth, their esthetician. I have had a facial, back facial, chemical peel, and microdermabrasion, all with Elizabeth and have never been disappointed. She always takes the time to ask about and listen to my top skin concerns and caters my experience to my skin care needs. She is polite and warm hearted, and I completely trust her and enjoy being in her care. The rigamarole of the contract and all the sales is such a turn off. The member price is steep too and one year us a bit of a commitment right now with the uncertainty of the new president. I do not think that massage is for me , I always seem to end up with a headache afterwards. Massage Envy pushes you to join their program. I experienced in other cities, Facials, Stone therapy , and Aroma therapy. However, I went to the one in Phoenix, and I really was never that happy with them. Not the Masseurs, but the way the store itself was run. So fast forward about a year. My body needs some major help. I decided I would get a massage. You know that nothing ever feels better for your health. So I made an appt. and I was lucky enough to be seen the same day. The place is decorated very soothingly. It smells nice as well. Like spa products. Which always makes me feel calm. The girls working the front desk are very helpful and not pushy at all. I love it when they are not pushy, it makes me more interested in any thing. Anyway I decided to get a membership again. Guess what! Buying the membership meant my massage that day was complimentary. I thought that was divine. My Massage was wonderful, I I really needed it. I suffer from Migraines so relaxing my body and getting rid of toxins helps very much. I am truly looking forward to healing my body, and they even do facials here as well. Using all Murad products which is a great brand. I have not had the facials at this location yet. Best facial in the valley! I've recently started seeing Elizabeth, one of the best aestheticians I've ever met. I love the way she applies the product and massages your hands, arms, and shoulders while the product is absorbed into your skin. She offers great advice on products, how to apply, and when. I've learned so much since I started seeing her and my skin shows it! I've been asked by friends and co-workers what I'm doing differently because my skin looks so much better. She doesn't do the same thing every time, and because I try to come as often as possible, I appreciate the switch-up. Every person in reception is really friendly. I left my phone there before, and they held it for me until I could get there. My only criticism is with the facility. At first I tried to ignore these things because the massage is great. It seriously can't be beat, especially when you factor in the price. However, the therapy rooms smell bad (musty carpet), the sheets are scratchy, and the tables are not comfortable at all. The lotion they use is also a little suspect. I'm not crazy about the way it feels or smells. There are no extras or perks, and that's fine. I appreciate that a business model like this exists: a place where people can get regular, affordable massages and facials. But a few scented candles and some hot towels would really kick it up a notch. read more

The therapist, Yoshi, was very professional and helped ease my muscle pain. We talked about my needs and she was very knowledgable about recommendations. She was open and easy to communicate with. It was easy for me to relax for my first time there. My only complaint: Right after the massage, the front desk staff wanted to sign me up for a membership. It's not terrible, but I get it - you have a customer there, they feel great, you have quotas, you want to sign them up. The experience was tainted by that. I've been a member for 10 years. Tempe Massage Envy has some of the best massages therapists. I love coming into this location and love getting massages. With that said, I was not able to get in for a massage for 6 months, so I have six prepaid massage sessions. I called to cancel my membership and was told that I'd lose all the paid massages if I did not use them in 30 days. The Manager, David, worked out a solution for me that was outstanding and allowed me not to lose the sessions I paid for. Massage Envy Spa Tempe is a professional A+ business.
