I've gone to have both a facial and massage. I'm pretty satisfied with the massage and it seems most clients were coming for that. But I do not recommend this face for facial as it's the worst facial I've gotten in my entire life. The person who thinks facial should be offered at this quality most definitely never gotten a good facial him/herself. Wouldn't surprise me if she/he never had one. Disclaimer: I grew up in asia so I'm used to pretty high facial standards but the following hopefully will make you think twice of going there for facials using standards from any country. The deep cleansing facial I wanted is about deep cleaning but deep cleaning is not washing and scrubbing your face 3 times and apply a cooling gel and call it a day. I have both the electric face washer and the beauty roller they used which means I know how they should be properly used. I was first shocked that a face washer is used at all because facials are about healing power of hands and good massaging cleaning can do wonders. But skipping passed that, imagine having a brush on your face brushing for a good 5 mins (ladies who have the brush know that's long) and immediately followed by a harsh scrubbing face wash with massaging pressure. I think the esthetician lacks basic training judging by her moves. I don't mean this as a personal insult rather honest opinion. Because not only was the total amount of time of her actual hands on my actual face area be maybe 10 mins tops but also for example most people (probably everyone) tend to need deepest cleansing around the t zone (forehead and nose). No one that I know needs to have their cheek bone area scratched the hardest. But the 1/3 of the facial, my right cheek has been scratched up by several times of washing and towel wiping (get beauty wipes please!) to the point when she put on what I think was toner with high alcohol concentration, my face was actually hurting. But nose area was slightly stroked each time during this process. I should say there was work around the nose. The following Extraction portion was her using two beauty swabs trying to get black heads out. I didn't even think that kind of maneuver can be done. The most appalling part was the use of beauty roller, which if you didn't know, is a vibrating, metal bar or sometimes ball thing. Imagine not having any moisture on your face and have a piece of metal trying to stretch across it. I mean most people's common sense is probably making them think hmm maybe some moisturizer would help with this process. I do expect some level of drying with any facial so I brought my own Lamer moisturizer and eye concentrate just in case. I'm glad I did cuz immediately after the facial, I went to the bathroom and used twice the amount I'd normally use. Funny I felt I had to recover from a facial. I'm not interested in getting anyone in trouble. Just thought to share my experience so you guys can judge for yourselves. (Again I recommend this place for massages and may go back for that. Update: just saw the response from the business. 1) I did not use my actual name in my yelp account as I do not believe that is a requirement. 2) Using he/she is to mean that anyone would find the service not acceptable (if you read my comments carefully, you should be able to get why I said that instead of pointing out this technicality. And I also think you (owner and employees)) can actually tell based on what I've outlined whether I've actually been a customer or not so there's no point playing that game). Bottom line: I just saw this post so I never nor would I ever reach out to get the refund because I do believe those offered service deserve to get paid/ getting out of payment was not the goal of my post. But I feel it is my duty as a customer to share my actual experience so others can have all the information they need. If others have positive experience, that's great! I even mentioned I would go back for massages because the lady did a great job. But I do feel I have the right to outline what happened. Due to Covid, I havent been able to get a massage for 18 months so a massage was long over due. On a recent trip to Chicago, I found Massage Evolved and I was able to book a same day appointment online with Susana. Massage Evolved is located in a secure office building. I pressed the intercom button but someone was coming out so I walked in and took the elevator to the 2nd floor. The glass entrance door was locked so I called and they let me in. Since Ive been exercising for 18 months without a massage, I was quite tight. Susana worked through all the areas that I specified. As some of the other reviews mentioned, she is quite strong but I communicated the level of pressure and she was great at maintaining that level. I came out of this in more pain than when I came in and out $200, so I'm writing this in hopes that I can save someone else this experience! My therapist was Kim, and though I filled out the form as required, she told me she wouldn't be using firm pressure as requested and would only do so for the shoulders area. I thought this was strange but that maybe it'd be okay and she knew something I didn't. It started out with what I can only describe as light pressure, so I asked for more pressure, and she did a little more for a few minutes and then reverted back to what she was doing before. Meanwhile, the pillow setup was really rough on my lower back. I didn't trust that my therapist would be responsive to feedback, but after a bit I did ask her to switch it up since it was painful. By that point there thankfully wasn't much time left. I felt like this was a huge ripoff and actually a net negative for my pain, and I'm genuinely puzzled by all the five-star reviews. I get frequent massages and this is in the bottom 10-20% for sure. I would unfortunately not recommend to anyone. read more

Saw Haley for a swedish massage with medium firmness, and she was wonderful!! She rivaled my 4-year regular massage therapist in another city. My husband and I had the couple's massage yesterday. The spa is beautiful and felt very tranquil and clean. My husband loved his massage but my massage with Susana was way too painful. At first this was probably my fault for putting a request for "firm" pressure on the intake form. I usually like firm pressure, so I was surprised when it quickly became too intense for me. This initial misunderstanding would have been fine, but unfortunately the therapist didn't adjust the pressure even after I was complaining about pain and tensing up through most of the massage. She also spent a lot of time poking into my underarm area and anterior shoulder that was sensitive and ticklish. The therapist kept telling me to relax, and insisted she needed to work aggressively on these areas despite my complaints. After finally moving away from these painful areas the other 50% of the massage was good, so I figured she finally took my requests to heart, but then she went in super deep again into my forearms to the point I yelped and almost jumped off the table, and again she didn't reduce the pressure and continued even deeper. Very disappointing. I was frankly shocked at this experience and didnt really know what to say to the therapist when it was over when she asked how I was, so I just said "looser" which was true, but she quickly walked away before I could leave this level of feedback to her in person. Thankfully there was no injury as a result of this, although I left more stressed out than when I walked in and today my neck is quite sore. However, since the spa is very nice and my husband had a great massage, I would probably try again, but definitely with a different therapist. read more

I'm not one to leave reviews - especially negative. But I've never in my life had a massage therapist disregard my feedback about the pressure. I went in for a Swedish massage, not deep tissue, because I just wanted a relaxing experience. I mentioned that upfront. But multiple times during the massage when I said that the pressure was painful and that it hurt, the therapist said it was because I was tense there. I tensed up and didn't breath because the pressure was way too much. This happened on my back where the therapist dug her elbows into my shoulder blades (unfortunately, now I have a pinched nerve), on the tender spots of my arms and calves, and my neck. Of the many massages I've had in my lifetime, I've never been choked until this massage. She pressed so hard on my larynx that I couldn't breath and then told me it hurt because there was so much tension. I walked out feeling bruised and sore when all I wanted was a relaxation massage. Though I have had pretty decent massages at this spa in the past, I'll try somewhere else from now on in the hopes of getting someone with good techniques who listens to client preferences. read more

Booked a couples massage and my work schedule has been pretty hectic to where I had to reschedule my appointment. I work 24 hour shifts and I have mandatory overtime. I called to try to reschedule my appointment and they took half of my payment for the couples massage and also told me that I would have to pay another fee for myself. So although they rescheduled, I would pretty much would be paying all over again to make the appointment a couples massage. I can't patronize that type of business. You can have your fee. read more

Loved the experience! My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary/birthday. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, making sure we were comfortable. While answering a series of questions on a form we were offered mimosas which were a nice touch. My boyfriend and I were then guided to our room which was nicely decorated. The room had a great ambiance, very tranquil and quite beautiful. Our therapists (Justin and Susanna) worked on all of our troubled spots and made sure we felt comfortable throughout the entire massage. I would say our only con was that the walls were pretty thin and the waiting room/lobby outside our room was kind of loud. It wasn't the biggest dela to us but if you are looking for a quote tranquil atmosphere that may be interrupted if you go during a busy time. This is my FAVORITE massage place in the entire city - I've been to at least a dozen (Trump Spa, Fit Foot, Massage Envy, Soothe - in home with app, Revive Massage, BodyTrippin, Holistic Health, etc.) and I've been happy with them all. But... THIS place stands out. Here's why: - The online booking tool is convenient. You can even book same day if the availability is there. - They offer a lot of different types of massages depending on your needs. Ashiatsu for tight glutes, deep tissue for trigger point pains, Swedish for relaxation - you choose. - The space is calming, quiet and professional. The sheets are soft (I've been to places with cheap scratchy sheets and it ruins the entire experience), the beds are warmed, and the place smells amazing. - Gabriella Gabriella is INCREDIBLE. A couple of times she even sent me follow-up emails with stretches for specific areas where I was having trouble (after asking if I'd want that) and to check in on how I'm doing. I have never had a masseuse do that before, and I love it! And, her massages are like magic. In one instance, my back was killing me; I went to see her and woke up the next day feeling 100%. They never have the same therapists, and have trouble booking & keeping appointments. They don't give the full time allotted (typically ending a full 15-20 minutes before the scheduled time), and the CBD massage does *not* use CBD products as advertised: again, the product changes every time. There is no consistency! Do not trust the online system to state who you will get as a therapist, either! As a client, you have zero control of this experience, which is not a good place to be when you're paying this much. For a run of the mill massage this place is way too expensive for what you get: stick to Massage Envy. read more

It was the first time coming to this massage place. We were kindly greeted by the receptionist. She offered water and mimosas. The waiting area was nice and peaceful which was relaxing. Once we were brought into the room we received a 60 minute massage which was very nice and relaxing. Once the massage was over there was a bathroom within the room which was a full bat from which was very nice and convenient. The couples massage cost $220 for 60 minutes. I would take away the one star but I must put something to post! NEVER give this business your money! They literally steal money and discriminate. I had a 4:30 appointment. I showed up at 4:05 and tried to get buzzed in from the outside for over 20 minutes. I kept buzzing the spa and calling to no answers. Keep in mind to book online you must pre pay. Had I not have already paid I would have left. So after 20 minutes trying to get in without success someone else left the building so I was able to get upstairs. As I get there they have a glass door to the studio that is also locked? I'm wondering if there was an emergency and they had to close early? As I look through the windows I see lit candles and shoes at the door( they make you remove them and wear their slippers upon entry.) So I figure I will sit outside the door and wait. Maybe they took a break and will come let me in at 4:30. Nope. At this point yes I have reached irritated after spending over 30 minutes trying to get in to get a relaxing massage. So far not relaxed at all! After 4:30 comes I start a solid long steady knock. At 4:33 an employee comes out and said excuse me, giving me attitude while talking through the door. I said I've been knocking and trying to get in for over half an hour ( yes I was early as they tell you to please arrive 15 minutes early in the email confirmation) that would mean someone should been expecting me 18 minutes ago and she's giving me attitude for knocking? Hmm ... she said I don't think I want to let you in ( I guess because I was knocking) I said this is ridiculous may I speak to a manager. You have my money and I'm locked out talking g to you through a door? She responded there wasn't a manager there. Well obviously! She said I can refund you. I said no actually I'd still like to get my massage are you the masseuse if so yes you can refund me. She stated she wasn't the masseuse and that she wasn't letting me in. So she proceeds to call someone I'm assuming a manager and complain about me. I say fine just refund me. She won't answer me and then 2 clients came out of the back to pay and she said " sorry we cant let you out that way because this crazy white lady is out there, you will have to go out the back". Umm why am I crazy and what does my race have to do with it? So to wrap this up. I have yet to be refunded. The employee retreated to the back and never let me in. I found the owners name on the website. Ruby Greenberg it also lists her phone number. I left a voicemail and no one has reached out or reimbursed me. Whoever is in charge is clearly very unprofessional. I do manage people for a living and I would have called this client immediately after being treated like garbage, not let in, called names and still hasn't been refunded! I have never see something so unprofessional in my life! There is nothing they can do to make this ok and I hope everyone that reads this review will never step foot in such a poorly run business! read more

Amazing place! I've been going here for a few years and their massages are unique. It's done with their feet. They have beans going across the ceiling for the masseuse to hold on to and pressure is applied. (Don't worry- they have soft not smelly feet).
