Made an appointment for a couples massage. Was told to arrive 10 minutes early, went through all the paper work and everything. I believe we handed out paperwork to the manger. She was looking over it and then asked if I was pregnant. I said yes I am. She asked how far along I told her 13 weeks. She then informed me that I could not receive a massage. I told her that I had gotten ones pregnant in the past and my midwife said that it was perfectly safe. She informed me that it is their company policy that you cannot receive a massage in your first trimester. She informed me that I could reschedule for in a couple weeks. Clearly not realizing that your second trimester starts at 14 weeks. I was upset, I drove about an hour to get the massage and didn't feel like arguing. I am 3 days away from being in my 2nd trimester. I went online to look at the website thinking I must have missed that policy. It is NO WHERE on their website. Not even under prenatal massages does it mention this policy. Looking at the price difference a prenatal massage is over a $100 more. Since this policy wasn't listed anywhere, the worker was unaware of when the second trimester started and the price increase. It just feels like they were attempting to take advantage of me by rescheduling in a couple weeks and then charging me over $100 more. If this is in fact the policy it should be on the website, discussed BEFORE the appointment and staff should be educated on when decks trimester begins. read more

Tucked away in upscale Folsom mall is this wonderful spa featuring massages and facials. Booked my appointment for the same day and had Annais who was warm and welcoming. I love it when people explain what product their using and why, and Annais did this and was so great and friendly. The front desk also made a great point of checking in with me and explaining or answering any questions that I had regarding their promotions. Went for a couple's massage with my boyfriend and we arrived a little early about 3:50 appointment was at 4! So we get there a fill out paper work didn't take to long we finished around 3:56 so hopefully to go back soon but we just kept waiting and waiting it was probably about 4:15 when we got taken back to the room and we didn't get told that there running late until we got taken back! So we go in the room and change so we're looking around 4:25 at this point when they actually got started with the message! It was supposed to be an hour message... they ended right at 5 so we didn't receive an hour message! And their front desk people, don't even get me started. Come on hire some good ones not bunch of clueless people looking at each other and doing small talks without solving any issues. Stood there for a long time providing all information days ahead of the appointment and they still screwed up the whole appointment bcoz they didn't put anything in! Run! (Or go to a different location, like the Natomas one). Went onto their website, logged on, booked a deep tissue massage for my boyfriend this past Friday April 20th afternoon. I selected deep tissue then selected the date and evening - then the menu gave me a selection of masseuses that we're available for a 60 minute 8pm appointment. After booking the massage online, I called the location to provide my boyfriends name to make sure there wouldn't be any issues when he showed up. I forgot the name who answered the phone - there were no issues in providing my boyfriends name, but there was an issue when she confirmed that his appointment was for 8pm. She said, "Ohhhhh. 8pm? Sofia was trying to leave a little early today... anyway he can come in earlier?" I told her, "No, sorry. My boyfriend isn't off work until after 7pm in Roseville." She then proceeds to say, "Oh. Okay. I see... well, hang on just a second." She then placed me on hold for about 2 minutes... which I assume was to tell poor Sofia that she had to stay and work her shift because someone booked her for an 8pm session. Mind you, when I booked online, I would have selected someone else - had there been another masseuse available. Sofia had at least 4 hours of open availability, so I selected her name. I also would have selected a guy as well because I was booking a DEEP tissue massage. I did NOT book a light pressure massage, NOT medium pressure massage, NOT a firm pressure massage... but a DEEP TISSUE massage. Per the Massage Heights website, deep tissue massage "can release the chronic patterns of TENSION in the body through SLOW DEEP strokes on any contacted areas and DEEP finger PRESSURE on the contracted areas, either following or going across the grain of muscles, tendons and fascia. It is called deep tissue, because it also FOCUSES on the DEEPER LAYERS OF MUSCLE tissue. It can help REDUCE pain, INCREASE range of motion, RELIEVE muscle spasms and improve circulation." My boyfriend's upper back and shoulders are really knotted up and he needs a deep tissue massage to really break up that tension. Well, this review gets even better! He arrives at Massage Heights, checks in for his deep tissue massage for 8pm with masseuse Sofia, and is asked if he wants to leave the TIP. He responds to the gal that he hasn't even had the massage yet, can't he leave it when it's done? Which makes sense... why would you tip someone BEFORE the services had been provided? The gal then tells him she wants to close out the transaction and registers before he is done since they close at 9pm. He tells her, just close the transaction now and I'll get my wallet from my car when the massage is done. He is then taken to a room and the massage commences shortly after. Masseuse: Sofia Massage: Deep Tissue My boyfriend indicated that he would like her to focus on his back and shoulders, no need to massage elsewhere. During the entire massage he asked her more than THREE TIMES if she could go deeper. She responded that this was her "style" of massaging and that if he needed a deep tissue massage he should have specified that and he would have been given someone else. WHAT?! Sofia was available under the deep tissue drop down menu for my needed appointment time. When I confirmed the appointment, I confirmed that it was an 8pm for deep tissue. When he arrived, he confirmed it was for a deep tissue. When he walked in, he wished I had booked it with a male masseuse he saw, that appeared to be available and likely capable of performing thorough deep tissue massages. But alas, he proceeded with his appointment with Sofia. Sofia performed a mediocre, LIGHT pressure massage. He described the massage as her simply rubbing the palms of her hands along his back and shoulders. When he asked for more pressure, the pressure didn't change - she said she was doing it the best she could, she isn't that strong and she wasn't capable of giving a deep tissue. Again. WHAT?! What is she doing as a masseuse for deep tissue massages then?! Then, at the end of the massage, at 8:55pm, she tells him sorry I have to cut the massage a little early. What a waste of money at this location. If you're looking for a deep tissue massage, go elsewhere. You'll find friendlier staff elsewhere - not young unprofessional employees who lack basic customer service. You'll pay less than $119 for a better deep tissue massage elsewhere. Or! Go to Massage Heights Natomas to pay $119 for a massage - that staff is super professional and their masseuses are amazingly skilled. With that said, I'm surprised this place even has 3 out of 5 stars... from the looks of other recent reviews, this location needs to step up their management, basic customer service training process and make sure their masseuses are categorized appropriate based on their skill/strength levels. read more

I arrived on time (I made sure to as the last time I was a little late, my massage was cut short). I was disappointed that the masseuse did not have pillows already setup as I am pregnant. Also disappointed that the masseuse did not wear a mask (regardless of mandates, pregnant women are high risk). She had me lay on my back after taking 5 mins to go get pillows, proceeded with my massage which was simply okay. I'm actually sore from the pressure despite me saying medium pressure and tell her a little less. Then it became too soft so I said she can apply a little more, with it going back to the previous pressure. What threw me over the edge was that my massage ended early. My appointment was 2:30, so you assume you're in that room getting a massage until 3:30. She took 5 mins to go get pillows, and ended my massage at 3:22. The front desk staff said they give 5 minutes at the beginning and 5 mins at the end. So that means I paid $150 for my prenatal massage for 47 minutes of an okay massage, exposure to an unmasked masseuse, with leftover soreness. So it's not a 60 minute massage, it's a 50 minute massage, possibly less. It's a complete rip off and do not recommend. read more

So I received a few gift cards for Christmas. I came in for a hour massage. What I didn't realize is that the clock starts ticking including the time for the therapist to come meet with you, along with the time needed to take off your clothes and wait for the therapist to come in the room. The massage was really less than 40 minutes--too short. It was good, not great. Secondly I bought some expensive face lotion thinking well maybe I'll use my gift certificates that way. I later found that the box had been compromised. Seal was broken and it had been used. Didn't get the greatest vibe from this place. read more

The service is good but trying to cancel your membership is a nightmare. I had to contact coorperet to get it canceled after contacting 2 locations and getting different info from both. I still had to pay an extra month beyond the year membership already paid just to cancel. Their policy is to give u 90 days to let you use any remaining services but I was only given 30 days and I'm still trying to get them to follow their own 90 day policy. Outstanding Massage! I had a two hour massage with Kristopher last Sunday at Massage Heights. I was given gift certificates from my sweetheart and WAS I SURPRISED! I have been to many other massage establishments and the massage therapist was never this knowledgeable, informative and even though they are a bit more pricey than others out there, rest assured, they are one of the best. Kristopher has vast knowledge in how to place pressure and where you want the pressure to be. I always read about how people get bruises and are very sore during the massage and I never can understand, you are paying for this service.... if it HURTS, THEN STOP THEM RIGHT AWAY and open your mouths and tell them what you WANT AND HOW YOU WANT THE PRESSURE! Don't let the massage go on for the full time and THEN say, oh it hurt after the fact. I would only suggest that the room was a bit more dim for relaxation and rely on the candles lit versus the low lit light. I get it thought, it is for comfortability and safety for all but I other than that, I really loved the place, the staff, the Spa Director, Jeanne Lascano suggests after the massage if you wish to join the membership and if you are the type that does need a massage once a month or two, it is well worth the price to take care of yourself. Jeanne didn't shove the sell down my throat but was informative about the membership and it's PERKS!!!! Think hard about signing up for the membership that you may use at any spa, it will be a holistic investment and check into your employers because you may be able to get a break from the employer for holistic/wellness massages!!!! Remember, if the massage is not to your liking, then SPEAK UP at that time, don't not say anything for fear of attitude from the therapist or a terrible experience. YOU are in charge of your body, and you won't be disappointed with the services and pressure of massage. read more

Tried to fill it out quickly and give to the front desk and then waited another 5 minutes for the guy to come back to get me. I paid close attention to the time and I was brought back to the room at 1:15, when he finished I looked at the clock and it was 1:50? Massage was good but it was just over 30 minutes and I paid for an hour! Tried to inform the manager and got nowhere. Also tried contacting their corporate and never heard back. Massage therapist was a little late arriving. Very nice therapist but very new. Warm wet towels were not pleasant. The speaker in the room was maybe broken. It made an annoying noise the entire time. Worse massage ever. Both wife and myself went October 11. We have had many massages (1x per month), decided to try this place with a Groupon. Worse experience. Bought the 80 minute massage for each. They did not massage head, the didn't even massage any part of arm or hands. Barely massage back of thigh. Never massage front thigh. Only touched feet after rolling over.
