We have had a TERRIBLE experience with this Massage Heights location with CREDIT CARD FRAUD!! I bought a GroupOn for my husband for his birthday and somehow the establishment saved my credit card information for his massage. He signed up for a monthly membership using his FSA card for billing. The FSA card then expired and they somehow found my credit card associated with him and started charging my card! In fact, there were several months where there was no charge to his monthly billing and then I was charged $99.99 on 7/27, $99.99 on 7/28, $99.99 on 7/28 (yes, three charges of $99.99 over two days!). And then of course charged again in 8/27. I have never set foot in this business yet somehow they had my credit card on file (different name than my husband's). I never gave my authorization to use my credit card for my husband's massages. They were texting HIM when they were going to charge ME. I never got a heads up that my credit card was going to be charged. They are refusing to reimburse me and have stated that they have done nothing wrong and that we'll have to take legal action to get a refund. read more

My sweet husband got me a massage and facial from Massage Heights Stone Oak and it was wonderful. Now I know what you're thinking, but COVID!! Well, the staff do their very best to provide a safe COVID-free environment. You make your appointment, call when you arrive, wait in your car to be assisted. When it's time you go inside straight to your therapist. The whole time you are wearing your mask and they are wearing theirs. The facial is a little different , of course, but they are always doing the most to keep their clients safe. I would highly recommend for my male friends as well! read more

I spent 15 minutes on the phone ordering a gift card for a friend to Massage Heights. They said the gift card would be sent to my email as a virtual gift card. After 15 minutes waiting on the phone and not receiving the gift card via email I just had them rescind the transaction. This was not a good client experience and was a waste of time. As I was on the phone with them waiting to receive the purchased gift card I received other emails, so I am not sure what is going on with their systems. This was an easy sale on their part, and the sale was lost because they couldn't email me the gift card. And I still haven't received any email evidence of the gift card sale or rescission as promised. Update: it's been 12 hours since I purchased the gift card and had them cancel the transaction. The virtual gift card email and cancellation have still not arrived to my email as promised. The charge to my credit card is showing but not the refund. Bad business practices all around. read more

I was visiting my sister in law and we both decided we needed a prenatal massage, as we both were pregnant together. We purchased the groupon for a 60min massage. Our groupon was supposed to include an elevation add on such as a facial, hot stones etc. We were told by the front desk that they would ask the masseuse if she could do something for us as the add ons have chemicals in them and we did not qualify for it. We told the front desk we would like to do the hot stones and we did not mind. However our massage therapists both did not mention anything for us. That was a bummer. The massage was nice, however I felt like the masseuse could had been a little more firm and added more pressure. Towards the end she got lighter in touch. read more

My therapist Joelyns nails were way too long and hurt me the whole massage, extreme lack of flow in her technique, and she massaged my feet when I specifically put that I didn't want my feet touched. Front desk didn't seem to care when I told them about my unpleasant massage. Massage Heights is great, but this location is terrible. I would check out other locations. read more

She targeted all the areas where I was carrying my stress and gave me the most relaxing massage. It was just what I needed and I purchased a membership so that I can treat myself monthly and start to make time to pamper my body. Underwhelming and overpriced. I'm generally a pretty positive person and maybe my expectations were too high but I'm a bit disappointed. I've had multIple regular facials that were amazing! made a last minute appointment for a hydrafacial, (which I've never had before) and I wish I hadn't. It didn't feel like she did much more than rub some product on my face and didn't use the red light because she couldn't get it to work. For $270, I would say save your money and go get a normal facial AND a massage for that price..my skin felt exactly the same as when I walked in. Purchased a facial on Groupon, and booked an appointment for an early Saturday morning. They explained that I should arrive early and fill out some medical forms ahead of time, so that it wouldn't interfere with my time. I met my esthetician in the lobby and followed her back to a room. There was a massage table and she instructed me to get comfortable under the sheets and to pull up my hair. The sheets were warm and the table was comfortable enough. Then she explained the process, asked some questions about my current skin care routine and examined my skin under the light. I decided to do the microdermabrasion treatment and a moisture mask. There was a $12 upcharge for the mask, I think? Anyway, the service was friendly professional. Feels like they get a lot of business generated through Groupon, so they know how to handle the process. They have a great subscription option if you want to commit to monthly massage or facials. read more

I went in to Massage Height in Stone Oak with an introductory 1 hour gift massage. I'm not super-familiar with how the whole process works, and I was upfront about that, as well as my preference for light massage. The environment was okay. The front desk was friendly enough, but not really "into" getting me set up for a first appointment. The people at the front desk were doing a lot of chatting amongst themselves, and it would have been nice to get some engagement back from them, rather than just giving me a clipboard, form and a pen. It wasn't bad service, but also nothing to brag about either. This particular store is also good, but not great. It seems to follow a cookie cutter format for massage therapy salons, so nothing really stood out for me.The one thing I remember is the seating where I filled out the clipboard being very uncomfortable. It was kind of like furniture that's made to be looked at, but never used. Again, it was okay, but not great. The massage therapist was very nice and we had a good time in the treatment room chatting the whole time. So the interaction between her and I was really great. I liked her a lot. I was not really comfortable disrobing, but I did, and it was okay because she was friendly and got me distracted. From a customer service perspective she was great. But now, the next morning, I am in a lot of pain in my shoulders, my back and my foot. There is a reason I asked for light pressure. I have arthritis in my back, neck and knees, as well as a screw in my foot. In the therapy room, I specifically said that I have a screw in my right foot, so please be very cautious, because it can get sore very easily. By the time I got home, of course, my right foot was throbbing because of pressure on the knuckles of my foot. This morning, my back was screaming as I got out of bed, and my shoulders feel like I took some shots from Manny Pacquiao. I'm not sure what happened, but I am pretty sure this is not the desired outcome for people who get massage therapy done for stress relief. As I was leaving and the front desk asked me about my experience and if I wanted to leave a gratuity, I was inclined not to because of my foot, but that's kind of socially awkward, so I asked what was a customary tip. They wouldn't tell me, because the introductory price, the member price, and non-member price were all different, so there was no customary amount. I asked if 15% was customary, and the front desk again wouldn't give me a straight yes, so I said okay, leave $10 for a gratuity based on what I considered a $49.99 experience. At that point she asked me about my membership, but I told her couldn't commit to that until after the 1st of the month, so she gave me a receipt. I was kind of puzzled again, because it felt a little awkward and stilted checking out. Again, an okay experience but not the greatest by any stretch. In the end, I kind felt like maybe it was a slow Sunday afternoon, and maybe everyone wasn't on their "A" game. It was a good-enough experience for $50, but it would not entice me to commit to a membership contract over any period of time. They really should give more focus to new customers if memberships and return visits are what that want. I think my big lesson for this particular store is to focus in customer engagement and interaction, and maybe give clients an ability to provide feedback, post-therapy, in a confidential or non-public venue. read more

My boyfriend and I had a couples massage. Because it was our first time, our 60 min massage was $49.99. I requested a hot stone massage so it was $20 more, but it was so worthy! My massage therapist was Sidney, she was wonderful. I asked medium to firm pressure and she did a great job throughout the whole 60min. This was one of the best massages I've ever had. My first experience with this place was walking in the door to hear the previous customer complaining of how awful her facial was and how it was cut short with no massage incorporated. My facial tech was about 15 minutes late but she did give me the full time. Her massage was great but I was disappointed that a scalp massage isn't included. Overall it was just okay. I paid the "first time customer" discount price for my facial. I did not realize that the sub par facial was actually $118.00 normally, almost made me laugh. They seem very proud to charge that much. My face broke out two days after this facial which Im not used to. My facial tech was very nice and asked about pressure and gave me some free samples bc of the time I had to wait in the lobby. This place is okay, not bad but I definitely prefer facelogic. read more

I'm desperately trying to use up all of my services and elevations and I will most likely be cancelling my membership afterwards. My issue with Massage Heights is simple: they are selfish and they don't understand/execute the business model that they are trying to push uniformly. When you visit a new location, they have you fill out a medical history form as if you are visiting a doctor's office. Then they have you sign a waiver which basically says that their staff is not a certified medical provider (which begs to question why you need to feel out a medical history form in the first place) and their suggestions and treatments are for consultative and relaxation purposes only. When you book a massage, it's not about your needs, it's about filling in an open time slot. There's no attempt to build any sort of relationship with your massage therapist. If I go out seeking a doctor, I may visit several offices before I find the one that I "click" with and that I feel comfortable with and when I find that person, I want to see them exclusively. This place has a Texas Med-Clinic kind of feel to it where you just see whoever is there and has an opening but there's no attempt to make it any kind of personalized relationship or connection to you as a person. This is not only bad for clients who are paying for a membership, it's bad for employees too, as Massage Heights is not really going out of their way to ensure that they are getting steady clients. The unfortunate part for Massage Heights, is once employees work there long enough, it's really easy to take that business model and replicate it so it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of employees go private or go to competing companies (I.e. Massage Envy, Elements). Suggestions for improvement would be to create "retreat" webpages and/or a mobile app and allow your customers to connect with their massage therapists on a more personal level. It wouldn't kill you to have a directory page where you could see a small bio and a schedule for a therapists, for example. Versus what it looks like now is a form that you fill out and you either get called or emailed back on who you were "placed" with. VERY impersonal and exudes greed. read more

Making the appointment over the phone was easy, they did need a credit card on file,and explained thoroughly the cancellation process and policy. She made she I knew exactly where they were located. I received reminder emails and texts a few days prior to my appointment. Parking was easy and available, walked in and immediately greeted. The lobby is nice and quiet, already puts you into a relaxing mood. Nice clean restrooms, and the rooms that were opened were clean, clutter free and massage tables nice made. Filled out my paperwork, then the front desk receptionist led me to the restroom, on my way back to the lobby, my massage therapist was ready, and led me to the room. Jarrett was my massage therapist, and let me tell you, that was the best massage I have had in San Antonio. The pressure was firm and perfect. I could feel the tension and knots being released and worked out. Most massages and just light and relaxing. This was definitely relaxing, but also beneficial, and this is what I personally expect from a massage. And I had the option of having a warmer on or off under the sheets. On please! The music was the perfect volume, and you did not hear much noise outside of the room. When I was checking out, they mentioned they do have a membership program. I was still trying to come out of my relaxed daze as she was explaining it to me. But basically a 1 hour massage here is $100, but you can become a member for $20 enrollment fee and $60 a month, which allows you 1 massage a month, or you can roll them over, you do have to sign a 12 month contract. There are also options to pay up front for 6 and 12 months. I had received a Groupon as a gift for my birthday for a massage here. After the fact, now that I am thinking about it, I was so relaxed after my massage I didn't think to ask, but the Groupon was for an hour massage with an added elevation. When I booked the appointment, whoever I spoke to stated that it is added aroma therapy, but there was no such thing added to my massage, nor was I given a choice. I wasn't think about this as I checked in, as she mentioned on the phone and I knew it had to be on file that I was using a Groupon. And then my brain went to mush as soon as the massage started and I began to melt with relaxation. Oh well.. If you get a Groupon, be sure to ask about the elevation, as I missed out. But the massage totally made it worth it. read more

Purchased a groupon for facial and massage, upon arrival i wanted to do a peel which the receptionist said it would be an extra add on. When loretta called me back she said I couldnt get it, even said id pay separately which she refused to do so...This was not my first facial so i knew one of the products she used smelled like mold and i broke out insanely the next day which has never happened to me before. I gave 3 stars because the massage was good but awful facial service. First off I've been a member for over 10 years! My review is only for facial services. My skin is sensitive and I did let the esthetician know before hand. However, she proceeded to scrub my face with an exfoliate that irritated and burned my skin. The rest of the facial my skin was irritated, inflamed and warm to touch. I asked the esthetician if my skin was red and she said no. Which I thought was unusually because it's usually red during a facial. After the facial ended I went to the lady's room and saw my face. A horrifying feeling set in as I knew then that my face had been burned and was red and swollen. I walked out to the front and they took my money! Said sorry this has never happened! And that was it!! The manager didn't even come to the front even after the front desk asked for assistance. What a shame! They would let a member leave their facility feeling the way I did. I will cancel my membership and move my business to Hand and Stone where they treat their member's with dignity! read more
