Warning: I can not ever recommend this location (manager at Winter Park and corporate were wonderful) but the manager at this location refused to help me and called me a liar TWICE as I attempted to discuss the following concern. Also note, the massage therapists are great. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my longtime membership due to scheduling constraints with the plan to return over the summer when I would have more time. I cancelled in person and was given a tablet to sign the cancellation form. I was told to use my remaining two credits within 60 days of cancellation, which I acknowledged. Called to schedule today and told that I had "given back" my credits because I didn't use it based on the date of billing and that it is NOT the cancellation date as I was told verbally by an employee. I was shocked and explained there was a mistake. Manager stated I should have read the form I completed online. I told her that I cancelled in person (not online) and the front desk person told me not to use the credits within 60 days of cancellation. There was a long line off customers behind me waiting to check in so I did not stand there and read every word of the tablet cancellation form. Instead, I mistakenly took the employee at her word and made note to use the credits within the 60 day time period. In fact, it is now summer so I was going to use my credits this week and then sign back up for my membership. That changed when the manager literally stated that "This accusation is false. You should have read the form that you signed (I was NEVER given a copy of the form on the tablet, by the way) and you should have KNOWN our policy by reading it). It is hard to read something that was never provided to me and I made note of what I was told in person. To lose credits that I paid for and was attempting to use is bad enough but to be called a liar TWICE is a first for me in all of my years. read more

Unfortunately came here after receiving a Mother's Day gift to get a massage. Service was set from 5pm-6pm I made an appointment myself online, someone called saying they had a missed call from me I explained to them I just wanted to make sure I could use my gift certificate as it was not available to put online I had to put my visa, she said yes. Well she accidentally changed my time to 445 which is the time I arrived but I was thinking I could use restroom and look around since I've never been. Anyways I get started with my massage around 4:55 and the massage ends at 5:35 it seemed short but was unaware at that time that my massage ended earlier because it had been rescheduled earlier. There wasn't much of an apology or accountability for the fact someone had changed my time without my knowledge and I got a shorter massage, my husband also bought a gift certificate that came with an enhancement which no one mentioned even though I asked massage therapist what was included and she didn't know so just not a great experience overall. Horrible business ethics, practices, and customer service. Massage was "meh", at best. JESSICA the manager was condescending and did absolutely nothing to resolve/correct an employee's error and mis-quote of pricing. Stated "There's nothing we can do." False. You as a manager have every ability to adjust pricing for a customer. The price that was confirmed over the phone when we booked was NOT honored. The price changed and we were not told until AFTER massage was administered and we went to pay. I had been to this location once before in February with my fiancee. We had booked the appointment for $55/pp, utilizing a Groupon at the time. My fiancee called to check rates and times since we had not been there in months. She spoke with the receptionist, who said it would be $50 per person and if we wanted a couples massage (same room) it would be $5 extra per person, total $110.00. We clarified the $110.00 amount numerous times with the receptionist and were not told of any additional amounts. Receptionist said she had my card on file and would reserve through that, knowing full well that we had been there before in February. We came at our scheduled time, were made to wait in a waiting room, got taken in 5 min late and by the time massage started it was already 10 past yet stopped at 10 til the hour, so actually a 40 min. massage. We came out to pay and were informed AFTER the massage that the prices had magically increased to $100 per person. This is double what was quoted over the phone. Also, NONE of the actual prices are clearly displayed for your reference when at the front desk except for the $55 price. No where on any printed literature or signage does it clearly state $100 'non member' price. The front desk was short with us and only tried to sell us memberships. They did not care to hear our complaint so we asked to speak to the manager. The manager JESSICA was even worse, she had no interest in the issue and was very condescending. She talked to us as if we were at fault for not knowing their prices. We explained that an employee had quoted us $55/pp over the phone when booking. We also brought it to Jessica's attention that there is not one price listed in the front office that clearly states $100 massage. She continued to treat us like we were at fault. She also stated that it was the system and even if their employee was at fault, she could not correct the problem. This is also another blatant lie, she is the manager she has the ability to adjust pricing. NO BUSINESS HAS A SYSTEM THAT A MANAGER CANNOT MANUALLY ADJUST PRICING. THIS IS FACT. Jessica then contradicted herself saying that a note on our account stated $100 per person, proving that if the receptionist had written $55/pp in the notes, that she would be able to correct the error. I stated, "So even if your employee quoted me one thing, yet wrote a different amount on the note, you would not honor the quote?". "There's nothing we can do" was Jessica's response. As previous reviews stated the business ethics and billing practices are highly unethical. They are the only subscription service which continued billing on a monthly basis when they were closed during the pandemic. How can you charge for a service that cannot be redeemed? They also appear to have raised the fee to "gift" massages; another questionable antic to fleece members. Long story short, the membership makes no sense. They are a permanent fixture on Groupon which creates limited availability for members to redeem their accrued massages. They have deplorable ethics, no online portal to book/cancel view availability, sub par aestheticians BUT decent massage therapists. I get massages quite often but never felt comfortable to sign up up for a monthly membership until now. This place is very impressive. At first glance it appeared to be your run of the mill massage envy/hand and stone place but they quickly changed my mind. They were very friendly and not pushy. This place definitely was luxe (lol) from the time I walked in. Beautiful decor and ambiance. I booked an hour massage with Christian which was amazing if you love deep tissue. A week later I booked a couple massage with Lori and Celeste and they were just as great which is hard to come by in my experience. Usually I don't listen to the sales pitch but I listened to this one and ended up signing up. For about $50 a month, which I believe is a sale as of right now you get one massage monthly which is standard. I also love how the massages role over and don't expire. This place also up the anti with their hydroluxe massage thats included with your membership. Its a massage bed you lay on and it gives you a nice relaxing water massage!? I have been a member here for well over a year and I am trying to leave but they make it impossible to use up your hours because 99% of the appointments I make are just cancelled by them, with absolutely NO recourse!!! They could NOT CARE LESS about their customers...BEWARE!!! They will gladly take your money every month, they just won't let you use the services you are paying for! I have almost 10 hours saved up, put my account on hold because I couldn't keep up (this is the only way you don't just lose all your investment, and they still take $25/mo to 'hold' your account!)... its a complete racket. This is my 1st time being here & I'm impressed! The place is very clean & the staff are friendly. Sarah was my massage therapist & she has magical hands!! She applied just enough pressure & my whole body felt relieved & rejuvenated when my massage was done. I would definitely recommend her & absolutely will be returning! OH! ... and one of the best parts is their Hydro Luxe bed that was included in the price. It is a hydrotherapy bed that you lay in (fully clothed) that shoots incredibly relaxing hot water up & down your body for up to a 15-minute period. You can adjust the pressure to your liking and even set it to focus just to one section if you want to. It feels kinda like a jacuzzi jet behind a screen that's used on a trampoline. Me and my wife have been their members for over an year, 2 weeks back we had an appointment on a Sunday which we forgot and we didn't get a reminder call either the day before or the day of the massage, When I called them on Monday to find out about this, they said they called me on my number and i didn't answer. i told her i did not get a call and i can show the call list (as i always call back for any missed calls) she said she cant do anything. I asked her to connect me to a manager and she said she's not available and the manager will call me back the next day. I waited for 10 days and never got a call back from the manager. Yesterday i had to call them back again to remind them to connect me to the manager and i got a call today and the manager says they called me and i did not answer, for some reason they have only my number for both my wife and me on their file while both of our accounts are different. Even if only my number was attached for both, i should have had 2 missed calls for appointment reminder the day before and 2 reminders on the day of the appointment, while i have none. While every other place has reminder text messages/emails Massage luxe doesn't for some strange reasons. Its past 2 weeks now and i cant even show them my call log since its all erased with the new calls. I recently discussed with its' general manager that I would like monies returned to my credit card for massage services not rendered during the past six months. I was fully aware of the contract terms when my spouse and I enrolled in February of this year, expecting to be charged monthly for the accruement of massage services. MassageLuXe continued to charge my credit card even though the entire country was on lockdown. Does this make sense? Is it customary for an establishment to disregard the best interest of its customers by conducting such practices during a crisis? Once its reopening in May, I called to express my concerns about returning to the establishment for a massage now that circumstances were so vastly different. I was informed by the representative that if I cancelled our memberships, all accrued hours would be lost. Hence, if I wanted to maintain our status as members and still have access to the hours, our accounts would need to be charged monthly in the amount of $10.00 until we chose to return. Unfortunately, the return never happened. Thus, I made another call in August, this time with the intention of getting reimbursed. To my dismay, the general manager declined and discussed that refunds were only being extended to customers who had expressed these types of concerns upon its reopening. Interestingly, customer's most recent reviews indicate otherwise. Sadly, I missed what was deemed as the "window of opportunity", having been only partially informed by the representative just months prior. Even now, I attest that the establishment's practices are unjustifiable. First time the requested massage therapist was a male when I requested to have a female. Second time they said they had called me to let me know the appointment was cancelled but they never called me. I purchased a Groupon and was excited to try Massage Luxe for the first time. I called and scheduled my appointment. The female I spoke with took down the Groupon code and expiration date. I asked for a female masseuse; the female on the phone started I would be booked with Erica. No issues, Groupon was valid, ready to see me on the 4th. WRONG. I filled out a questionnaire and thought Erica would get a quick brief about the medical part, you know... be informed. It wasn't even Erica, it was a male masseuse. I didn't want to make a fuss, although I was skeptical. He has no idea about my medical stuff... then why did I fill out a long questionnaire? Why did they ask about arthritis issues or recent concerns if they do not pass the info along? He had a great personality but talked the entire time. Time to leave the facility. WRONG. They attempted to pressure me with joining their "member club" which I started not at this time. The young female asked why and tried to explain further. I don't appreciate being badgered about joining any club. Usually no is no. The other female stops me and said that my account has issues. How?? When I talked to them on the phone, they took all the information, said I was set to go. When I came in, no issues, sent back to the male masseuse. Only since I didn't join their member club now there is an issue. They wanted the Groupon. It was on my desk at work, I should have brought it because I just had that feeling that something would go wrong. The female proceeded to tell me there was no Groupon code on my account and therefore I had to pay full price... excuse me???? One called the manager. She then tells me, I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. Call tomorrow with the code. Do you know they charged my credit card again????? I should have never given them the number over the phone, but it was to hold my spot. Now I have double paid for a massage that was at best "eh". Do not go to Massage Luxe. They told me they would not charge my card and as soon as I walked out and got in my car, my husband told me it was charged again!!!!! Unbelievable!!! I will never go there again after this. Absolutely ridiculous rules. They have a 2 hour cancelation policy. They dont open until 9 am . Called at 9:03 and they took my hour and half from me for being 3 minutes late to call in. Then told me that they get there before 9 to take calls. No one ever told me or anyone else that. She was going to let me cancel without taking my hours and let me reschedule, but she checked with her manager and was told no since I was 3 minutes late.Just read all the reviews about this manager! They called to confirm my appointment and never said it was a problem. Then, I drive 40 minutes through rush hour traffic just for them to say you don't have any hours on your account. So I couldn't get my massage and their only rebuttal was that the girl who scheduled my appointment and she was the one that told me I had an extra hour was new. Such a disappointment. I was really looking forward to a relaxing 1hour massage. I arrived 10 min before my scheduled appointment due to unusually heavy traffic for a Sunday. The woman at the front desk was terribly rude about it. Not a great way to start my "spa experience". My massage therapist led me to a room that was lit with what appeared to be fluorescent lighting. Poor choice for lighting if you are trying to evoke a warm, spa-like atmosphere. The room was cold so I asked my therapist if she could make it warmer. She said she can't control the temperature. Bait and Switch - MassageLuXe Lake Mary My wife purchased a gift card for $75 to cover the cost of a standard massage plus tip. I went to schedule an appointment today, told them the value of the card, and scheduled an appointment. They asked if I have ever been there before and I said not at that location, only the Winter Park location. I provided my phone number and they searched and confirmed that I previously had an account. After I left, I got a phone call and was told that I would have to pay an additional $30 because I was previously a member and that the cost of the card would only cover an introductory massage. Issue 1 - When my wife purchased the card, she was not told that the value was only for an introductory massage. Issue 2 - My wife was not asked whether the gift card would be used by someone who previously has a membership. However, she was asked and provided my name as the person who the card would be given to. They could have determined at that time that I was previously a member and disclosed to her there would be an additional cost. She would have then made the choice to purchase a gift card from a business where the $75 would cover the cost + tip. Issue 3 - There is no reference to this introductory rate policy on the gift certificate page on their website: https://massageluxe.com/giftcertificates/ Issue 4 - There is no reference to this introductory rate policy anywhere on their website. My wife is very disappointed and I expressed my dissatisfaction with this sales approach and lack of transparency. They will not issue a refund. I have been going there for more than a year. They have a very high turn over of staff at reception and massage therapists. They continued to Bill during COVID and then expect you to use the hours they billed you for in one month. They billed me and my husband for a total of 10 hours each. Advised I don't feel safe to come in at this time. They advised I had 30 days to use the 10 hours or lose my money. Jessica the manger is lost in her job. She fails in management and customer support. The high turn over is based on her unable to lead. After being a member for so long you become friends with some of the people. I went in for a Deep Tissue massage and I wasn't disappointed. I found an online deal for $38 dollars, and I was pleased with my result. I came in filled out the paperwork, then was led off to the waiting area. I has Lori for my massage. ....a balanced review. I booked an hour massage, here is how it went. The facility is very nice and has a superior "ambiance" compared to Envy or Hand/Stone. My masseuse was top notch, very good...actually she was excellent. The massage itself, no complaints...I would see her again, no doubt. However, just like the others (Envy/Stone), an hour is FIVE-ZERO minutes...not 60, not 51, 50 minutes. Then, just like the others, you get a "pitch" at the end to join a membership. Also, just like the others, the membership works the same way. Finally, just like the others, pricing is the same. I'll give a "slight" edge to Luxe. But, in the end, this is just another one of the "McDonalds" of massages....get em in, lay em down, sign em up, get em out....nothing particularly unique or would make you choose Luxe over another location. Independents are the only way to experience a great therapeutic massage. Someone who will spend time with you, get to know your physical issues and really work your problem areas (and has the freedom to do so) Hey, I don't hate the players here...Luxe is capitalizing on the current "fast food" massage frenzy phase. In time, the market will adjust to more proper massage therapy....for now, most will find Luxe to be just fine and I wish them luck! read more
