Not only did he ensure everything was set up perfectly, he took the time to train me on how to change and maintain the system. In addition, he chose to use copper fittings versus the plastic fittings that aquasauna includes; masonry screws to mount the harnesses to the basement wall; and a bypass valve so we always have a plan b; he's a class act. Full disclosure - we did not use Massey - but only because they did not provide the service we needed. We had a plumbing emergency (all plumbing issues are emergencies). We called a few places including Massey. We had to leave messages for all of them. ONLY Massey called back and fast. After they asked me a few questions, they determined they were not equipped to handle our emergency. Next, they provided a few other plumbers that could handle our needs. I was very pleased with the service I received from Massey Plumbing. They came out initially a month ago to try and fix a leak in the tub. Due to the corrosion, they were unable to do so without possibly damaging the fixtures and making the tub unusable. They didn't charge for that service but came out the other day to put in new fixtures in two bathrooms. They were honest, courteous, and told me up front what my costs would be and the amount of time it would take to do the work. My boyfriend got a quote of $100 over the phone to install shut off valves in the kitchen and bathroom. My boyfriend had to work so I was home when they showed up. The first thing Massey said to me was" now I remember why I hate downtown, They should scrap these old buildings" We have a condo in an older building in Cap hill area. After looking around he said he couldnt install shut off valves. Our faucet in the shower was leaking so I said to fix it. His assistant put a washer on the handle and charged me $125! Finally--a company I trust! I've tried the big name companies and found them (for the most part) more interested in up-selling me on other services. Called an individual plumber and he wanted to sell and install a $90 disposal for $500. (Sent him packing after paying a trip and diagnostic charge.) So I consider myself lucky when I found Massey Plumbing and Heating. They've been out twice to fix problems (leaky sink, a busted disposal and a dying faucet). Their prices are reasonable, they always arrived on time, and they were extremely professional, nice--and neat. With the arrival of cold weather, now I know who to call to do a furnace check. They have saved me literal thousands of dollars by taking a few minutes out of their day to be sure that I don't get taken advantage of. There is no better service than that. The work that Massey Plumbing & Heating has done for me has been top notch each and every time. They are extremely knowledgable and have been doing this for many years. I trust them implicitly. Matt Massey and his father are the most honest and reliable guys in the business. Just one example of this is an emergency situation I had late in the day when my main sewer line backed up. I called a large corporate company to cable my line last minute and they wanted to charge me $12,000 to fix the issue. I called Matt Massey immediately to ask about this as this job specifically was not something he does but something he is knowledgable about. He not only took the time to get back to me immediately and advise me not to pay that amount for the problem but he put me in touch with someone who could come out and help me. A friend referred me to Massey Plumbing after I had a leak from plumbing done by another company. That company refused to come back and look at the leak. I called Massey knowing that I was out of their service area, but hoping I could get a referral. I received a call back the same day. I was so happy that they actually returned my call, that I didn't catch the full name of the gentleman, but I know it is a father and son operation. I probably spoke to the son who couldn't have been nicer. He actually spent a good half hour on the phone with me diagnosing where the leak would be coming from and then isolated the leak and told me how to fix it! I feel like I got a Christmas miracle. The fix was easy enough for me to do and cost very little to boot for the supplies. Massey charged me nothing. Literally free advice. Those of you who live on the west side of town, well, here is the company for you. Knowledgeable, professional and kind to someone who calls fixtures thingies. I highly recommend this company. I called Massey Plumbing for an estimate to replace 4 valves, (3 main water line valves and the shutoff valve to the water heater, all with ball valves). The estimate seemed very reasonable compared with another local contractor/master plumber. Massey showed up on time and went right to work. I visited with him during a portion of the work, asking questions (mostly for my own education). He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, answering all of my questions, while explaining about home plumbing issues. He completed the work in about an hour and a half. Upon review, it looked great. He also took a look at a bathtub faucet issue and spent another 10 minuets repairing it at no additional cost. The total cost matched his estimate exactly. No hidden expenses or surprises. The other local contractor/master plumber quoted more than 3 times what Massey charged. I definitely recommend Massey, and advise everyone to get at least two quotes before deciding on a contractor. As a bonus, his father (a retired master plumber) accompanied and assisted him.
