We had a great time here and loved their beers. We sat outside on a gorgeous day and had some food which was phenomenal. We definitely will go back!

Girl Scout cookie flight - four beers each paired with a complementary cookie. Just something different

Just a quick stop after lunch and walking in Portland. Love their selection of beers - there is something for everyone unlike the breweries that are excellent but petty much have hoppy to very hoppy IPAs

Array of snacks! Starting from the upper left: Chips & Queso, Corn Fritters, Shaved Brussels Sprout Caesar Salad and Pizza Sticks

Came in on Monday 10/21/24 with my friend and her family - her husband and 3 young kids. We had planned to go to Gritty's because it was beautiful out and Gritty's has a play space for kids, but alas, they were closed. We sat outside and the large patio doors from the restaurant were open. There are 8 or so large picnic tables and a couple groupings of Adirondack chairs. There are several signs asking parents to keep their kids at their tables with them and not to allow them to run around. I've been here before and really enjoyed it. I've also been to Nighthawk who supplies the food for Mast Landing and absolutely lived Nighthawk. We had an amazing experience there a couple years ago. The adults ordered each had a beer, they each had a Windbreaker and I had a Glad You Could Make It. They liked theirs and I liked mine as well. We ordered bento boxes for all 3 kids - (2) grilled cheese and (1) burger. While $16 for a kids meal seems like a lot - they do come with a side, drink and dessert. The adults ordered several appetizers to share. We had a fantastic array of snacks! Pizza Sticks - hear me out. These are not your average pizza sticks. They have ricotta and more pepperoni than a large pizza has! Corn Fritters - crispy outside and sweet inside Chips and Queso - thin, crispy chips and a lot of queso! The queso was a little spicy and the heat started to build, but not overly spicy. Shaved Brussels Sprout Caesar - this was the highlight for me. It was the best Caesar salad I've had. I'm guessing they make their own dressing and if they don't - I NEED to know where they buy it. The shaved parm on top and the crumbled croutons were the perfect touch. I liked the little bits of crunch in lots of bites vs a big crouton every couple bites. In a nutshell - this place is awesome, I highly recommend it.

This Mast Landing location has everything I want in a brewery: plenty of room inside, lots of seating options, a big outdoor space, and awesome pours. It's a massive place, and they even serve up real food (not just the usual pretzels and chips) thanks to Nighthawk Kitchen; the food's actually pretty good. If you're into IPAs, you'll be right at home here. I tried two during my last visit, and both were solid 4/5s. They mostly focus on IPAs, but they've got a few stouts and some fruity beers mixed in too. What really stood out for me is how much space there is to hang out. Inside, you've got couches, tables, and bar seating, so you can settle in wherever you feel comfortable. Outside, there's a huge patio with grass, adirondacks, and picnic tables. Even though it's close to the highway, it's surprisingly not that loud. One thing to note: it's VERY family-friendly. You'll probably see a bunch of kids and dogs around, which didn't bother us, but if you're trying to get away from that scene, it might not be the vibe you're after. Otherwise, it's a great place to relax with some good beer and food.

Easy-to-spot blue building right off the highway, in a shopping center with easy parking. Great views of the beer making apparatus, spacious seating, and even outdoor seating. It's order-at-the-bar only, but staff is friendly, you can open a tab, and flights make for easy sampling of their many beers, some of which are my favorites. You can also order food from Nighthawk's Kitchen (I recommend), which shares the same building and has a service window right into Mast Landing. And if you're into bar crawls, Maine Beer Company is right down the street (I kinda think of Mast Landing as the Mary Ann to Maine Beer's Ginger).

Great spot right off the exit on 295 in Freeport. Loved the large parking lot and there appeared to be a nice patio area for outdoor sitting and eating. We sat at the bar on a busy weeknight in July. The bartender was friendly and attentive but not too hovering, which was nice. Beer is ordered at the bar and food is ordered via QR code from the adjacent restaurant. My fish taco were very good, had a bit of a kick but not too spicy. The star of the show was the burger. I think it was a smash burger. Absolutely delicious. The hand cut fries were also awesome- hot with a nice crisp. Beers were good, I enjoyed their flagship IPA. Definitely a keeper when in the area.

Lots of outdoor seating, large picnic tables and umbrellas.

Mast Landing has opened their new location in Freeport! Great outdoor seating with large picnic tables and umbrellas. Cornhole and Adirondacks outside. Little kids and pups welcome. Order inside and carry out. There is plenty of indoor, AC seating as well. Draft menu of about 12 -14 beers and extensive can / to go menu. I believe you can purchase cans to drink on site as well. They take all cards (including Amex). Nighthawk Kitchen food truck set up for food options. There is a pretty cool Portland Press Herald article on the chef. Plenty of parking. Since they are new there was not signage on the main road. Just put Shaws (grocery) Freeport and they are located in the cool glassfront buildings to the left. Just off the 295 Freeport exit # 20. Enjoy! Cheers!

We stopped here for some lunch on the way to our final destination. Loved the decor, the bar and the outside dining area (see video). Have a dog? Then there's plenty of room in the grassy outside seating area for fido. We didn't drink the beer but we had the burger and fries. The burgers were the smash burger type and had a nice crispy exterior to the meat. Burgers were cooked nicely and the brioche bun was a perfect pairing. The shoestring fries were fresh cut and delicious. We'll be back to eat and try the beer next time but for now the food is 5 stars.

    Fun!

Tasty beer with lots to choose from! Big tasting room with a large outdoor area for the warmer months. Conveniently located right off the highway, this place has lots going for it...except for the prices. Don't come here looking for a bargain.

More bar space! Tons of seating.

I had no idea Mast Landing had a Freeport location, which is my loss up until this point! It's a bright, open space with tons of seating and a beautiful sunset view out the back garage windows. Mast Landing has loads of rotating drafts, one for every beer palette - IPAs, sours, stouts - you can't go wrong with any of them! I'm particularly fond of the Gunner's Daughter, and they currently have that in a couple different variations: one with coconut and one that is a coffee stout collab with Rwanda Bean - DELICIOUS! As for the staff - they are friendly and knowledgeable about what they're brewing, and can definitely steer you in the right direction if you're unsure of what beer you may like (they will let you taste test anything you want before you commit to one!) AND DID YOU KNOW - they have an in-house kitchen (Nighthawk's Kitchen) that serves up some tasty bites to go with your brews! I got a burger and fries with shaved brussel sprout salad - chefs kiss!

Good beer. Nice space. Busier than I expected for a Wednesday night, but I didn't know they had trivia. I don't love breweries that use Untappd for their menu display because it's hard to see and you don't get any info about the beer, but that's not enough to cause them to lose a star. Not the best brewery in Freeport (of course that's Maine Beer Co) but definitely worth a visit.

Several more visits since my last review…read more Some things haven't changed: -- The beers are still great. Swish, Here's to Feeling Good All the Time, Nothing Gold, and Reciprocal are a formidable foursome. At any given time, you can usually get at least two, more often three, sometimes all four. -- You'd be hard pressed (pun intended) to find a better smashburger in Portland, but I'd also put it up against any regularly-offered burger I've had in Portland--smashed or otherwise. I love everything about it, from the high caliber of the beef to the fresh pillowy milk bun to the exhilaratingly strong cure of the bacon to the razor-thin cutting of the vegetables to the execution that gets even a smashburger burger juicy. -- I'm still not crazy about the wings. They have a frozen dinner feel to them. A few things, though, have changed: -- Full service now instead of having to order everything at the bar. That's a plus. -- The place is much more crowded-- including screaming tykes-- on the weekends. Not a plus, but can't fault a place for its own popularity. -- The fries are now the industrial strength coated kind. A big minus and a sad drop off from prior greatness, but better that than from an item off the main cast. -- You can now order beer cans to go from the table rather than having to get in line. A nice convenience. A few things to know: -- It's a surprisingly good option for vegetarians and pescatarians. The veggie burger and the grilled fish sandwich are both much more than solid. -- There's outdoor seating in front of the building and also to the right. -- The bar room to the right of the entrance is adults only, so if those screaming tykes get on your nerves, this is the place to be. -- You can still order beer at the bar if that's your preference over table service. Still a favorite, and the combo of beer, food, and space is tough to beat (Mast Landing and Maine Beer in Freeport are also somewhere in that echelon).

As an IPA fan I enjoyed this new version very much for its hop saturated citrusy forward taste that drank quite smooth for the 9.5%. At this point now Bissell is broken into two separate parts. The first will be the space welcoming to families and is more of their restaurant style area. Appeared to be a popular area and does offer reservations. My preferred area is the Bissell Garden as they call it. Those entering need to be of drinking age and have more lounge vibes where you order at the bar. It still offers full kitchen menu so is perfect. Particularly my favorite is snagging bar stools to grab some beers and food. I had to try out the Super Swish while my wife grabbed their red ale named Turnpike. Then food wise we split their kitchen special Classic Poutine. Some of the best classic kept simple poutine I have had. The perfect comfort food for yet another cold weather day in Maine. Have been impressed by all the food from Bissell. Truly the only negative still stands being the fact it's on Thompson's Point and required paid parking (not Bissell Brothers call but still). One of the most popular Maine breweries for a reason especially in the IPA game. Give all their other style of beers a try too though, top notch brewery!

Had no idea all three were located here, pleasant surprise. I enjoy Allagash white so we decided to stop in. The campus is a good size with gigantic tanks no doubt filled with liquid gold! In the courtyard you choose which way to go; right heads into the outside beer garden and left brings you inside the brewery and gift shop. Beer garden for us. Seeing that it was covered by a tent thought for sure it was going to be cold inside , we were pleasantly surprised! Decor was paper chains and tissue paper hearts for Valentine's season. They had a creative station for folks to make their own Valentines. Also in the same area was a game bookshelf filled with board and card games to play. At the bar was a young man smiling as he welcomed us. We read the menu and for something different I chose "Cabin Weekend" the name reminded me of our camp in the Western mountains. We both enjoy whiskey so thought the aged barrels used for this brew would make a tasty treat. Grabbed our beers and then over to the food truck attached to the tent, clever. Bite into Maine is the food truck here today, unsure if different trucks come here or not. We wanted something small and shareable. Mac and cheese it was.
