What an awesome place ! We went on our honeymoon to Portland and were hitting some breweries. This had been recommended to us to check out. I'm glad we did. It's a welcoming atmosphere and the staff and customers were happy to chat with us about where else to try. I had a delicious stout and hubby had two different ipas. We enjoyed the beers we had and are glad we stopped. It's a must stop if you are in the area and love good craft beer !

Very nice brewery with large community tables inside and smaller tables with umbrellas outside. I tried the Terrarium IPA. Soft and tropical. Nice smooth IPA. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Plenty of parking and away from all the hustle and bustle of other breweries.

Came there on Sunday afternoon. Huge outdoor space, ordered at the bar, quick and easy Not in love with the sour that they have...I think it's peach and watermelon ? Forgot the second one...but their porter is legit. Almost all brewery that I visited their porter taste like water-ish but bunker has solid one

We discovered Bunker Brewing when they were hosting Portland's traveling food truck party Gastro Gogo. Their flight prices are inexpensive in comparison to other places we've been to. I was pleasantly surprised by the Hacienda Lime (Mexican style lager with a bit of lime). It reminded me more of a margarita squeezed into a beer. Like many of the breweries around Portland, my favorite thing is the dogs. I love that dogs are allowed. Beer + dogs = happy life!

Here on the 4th of a July and there is only one woman working and she KILLED IT!!! There was a huge line when we arrived and she helped every person in line while keeping a smile on her face. Slowly and steadily the line shrunk, and once she had served everyone in line, the whole brewery broke into a raucous applause for a job well done. Amazing work! The owner really should be made aware of this and should recognize her for the job well done! Oh, and the beer is pretty good too!!!

Terrific spot and wonderful outdoor space. Great beer options. Usually a food truck, often live music. Indoors is also very nice. The brown & the Machine Check are favs.

A hidden gem! They're located off the main drag so one would need to be explicitly looking for it, which doesn't seem to be an issue as they had a steady stream of guests on a Saturday afternoon. Love Czech style beer and grateful to have discovered Bunker Brewing during our trip. All the beers on tap were fresh and prices are very affordable. Unfortunately, as a nano-brewery, their distribution is very small. While we wait for the day they reach NY/NJ, we bought a bunch of cases to-go at the brewery (good thing we packed a big cooler!).

What a fun place...it was so blasted cold that night, but my friend wanted to go out for a beer. OK...maybe it was my idea for the beer, but she drove and brought me to Bunker. Now, the drive to Bunker is a bit sketchy looking, but when you come around the side of the building...there is a great sized lot...clear sky view towards the airport and a lot of space. I can only imagine what the area is like on warm days...outside seating and all. Can't wait to check that out. The inside was a basic, local brew pub environment with ping pong table and lots of inside seating available. They have snacks which is always a good option to have for people. The ability to try flights is my favorite, so you can get a sample of the different brews available. The staff was very friendly and patient especially with me. Always asking questions and trying to figure out which 4 to choose. Seems like an easy task...well go out with me sometime! Thanks for a nice relaxing Friday night.

We got invited here and we tried their Oktoberfest probably one of the best I've had in a while will definitely back Try the other beers. Love the location With the brick building.

In a city that is known for it's craft beer options, it makes it difficult to stand out and be that "go-to" place. I had heard of Bunker Brewing from some friends who had gone numerous times, however, being that I live in the city, I found it hard to get myself there, being that it is nestled in the outskirts of Portland. However, I finally had a chance to go one Thursday after work, and I was finally able to see what I was missing out on. I ended up getting to Bunker brewing around 4pm on a Thursday afternoon, and it was quiet with only a couple other people at the venue. Getting to Bunker can be challenging at first, as it is in the very back of a large building, but that is what keeps the tourists away from this hidden gem! The space is very industrial, but the bar and facility is maintained nicely and looks great! So why four stars and not five? The day I went, they only had one IPA on tap, which was good, but I just wish they had more of a selection. Overall, this is a great brewery, especially when you need to escape the commercialized nature of other breweries.

It's a shame that the art of brewing a solid clean beer has been lost. Everyone is trying to one up the other due to competition and beer no longer taste like beer. Bunker fits this description. I asked around and was not the only person who thought this. C'mon guys..... Overall service was fine and atmosphere was just ok. Go ahead and give it a try and form your own opinion.

Loved it here ! Super cool vibes. Warehouse / garage remolded into a cool brewery. We got a flight of 7 different beers - we loved the Machine ale and got a 4 pack to go! Super nice staff as well

    Bob M.

Bunker has never let me down. Premium beers in a downtown location and priced slightly better than it's more well known zymurgists building those fancy brewpubs in Gorham.

Had no idea all three were located here, pleasant surprise. I enjoy Allagash white so we decided to stop in. The campus is a good size with gigantic tanks no doubt filled with liquid gold! Outdoor seating area with fire pits for warmer weather enjoyment. Entrance had a woodsy feel to it with signage that was clear to read. In the courtyard you choose which way to go; right heads into the outside beer garden and left brings you inside the brewery and gift shop. Beer garden for us. Seeing that it was covered by a tent thought for sure it was going to be cold inside , we were pleasantly surprised! Decor was paper chains and tissue paper hearts for Valentine's season. They had a creative station for folks to make their own Valentines. Also in the same area was a game bookshelf filled with board and card games to play. At the bar was a young man smiling as he welcomed us. We read the menu and for something different I chose "Cabin Weekend" the name reminded me of our camp in the Western mountains. We both enjoy whiskey so thought the aged barrels used for this brew would make a tasty treat. Grabbed our beers and then over to the food truck attached to the tent, clever. Bite into Maine is the food truck here today, unsure if different trucks come here or not. We wanted something small and shareable. Mac and cheese it was. We sat down at one of the many empty tables and began to enjoy our beers and food. Cabin weekend was so delicious! It was a strong onto 8.9%! Tasty with the faintest hint of whiskey and a cabin feel for the finish. The Mac and cheese was dense and rich!! The fork could practically stand upon its own! It was good in my opinion however don't think I could have finished the portion in my own. We enjoyed so much we will be back for some to bring away with us to our cabin in the woods.

Several more visits since my last review…read more Some things haven't changed: -- The beers are still great. Swish, Here's to Feeling Good All the Time, Nothing Gold, and Reciprocal are a formidable foursome. At any given time, you can usually get at least two, more often three, sometimes all four. -- You'd be hard pressed (pun intended) to find a better smashburger in Portland, but I'd also put it up against any regularly-offered burger I've had in Portland--smashed or otherwise. I love everything about it, from the high caliber of the beef to the fresh pillowy milk bun to the exhilaratingly strong cure of the bacon to the razor-thin cutting of the vegetables to the execution that gets even a smashburger burger juicy. -- I'm still not crazy about the wings. They have a frozen dinner feel to them. A few things, though, have changed: -- Full service now instead of having to order everything at the bar. That's a plus. -- The place is much more crowded-- including screaming tykes-- on the weekends. Not a plus, but can't fault a place for its own popularity. -- The fries are now the industrial strength coated kind. A big minus and a sad drop off from prior greatness, but better that than from an item off the main cast. -- You can now order beer cans to go from the table rather than having to get in line. A nice convenience. A few things to know: -- It's a surprisingly good option for vegetarians and pescatarians. The veggie burger and the grilled fish sandwich are both much more than solid. -- There's outdoor seating in front of the building and also to the right. -- The bar room to the right of the entrance is adults only, so if those screaming tykes get on your nerves, this is the place to be. -- You can still order beer at the bar if that's your preference over table service. Still a favorite, and the combo of beer, food, and space is tough to beat (Mast Landing and Maine Beer in Freeport are also somewhere in that echelon).

As an IPA fan I enjoyed this new version very much for its hop saturated citrusy forward taste that drank quite smooth for the 9.5%. At this point now Bissell is broken into two separate parts. The first will be the space welcoming to families and is more of their restaurant style area. Appeared to be a popular area and does offer reservations. My preferred area is the Bissell Garden as they call it. Those entering need to be of drinking age and have more lounge vibes where you order at the bar. It still offers full kitchen menu so is perfect. Particularly my favorite is snagging bar stools to grab some beers and food. I had to try out the Super Swish while my wife grabbed their red ale named Turnpike. Then food wise we split their kitchen special Classic Poutine. Some of the best classic kept simple poutine I have had. The perfect comfort food for yet another cold weather day in Maine. Have been impressed by all the food from Bissell. Truly the only negative still stands being the fact it's on Thompson's Point and required paid parking (not Bissell Brothers call but still). One of the most popular Maine breweries for a reason especially in the IPA game. Give all their other style of beers a try too though, top notch brewery!

With a lot of events scheduled too, including today that was a Summer Puppy Pool Party so as you can tell they are dog friendly. One of the many amazing breweries in this area of Portland.
