Out on a Sunday drive to the Riverside area of town. Wanted to check out an apartment neighborhood for our son. We turned down the road and boom, three breweries!! Had no idea all three were located here, pleasant surprise. I enjoy Allagash white so we decided to stop in. The campus is a good size with gigantic tanks no doubt filled with liquid gold! Outdoor seating area with fire pits for warmer weather enjoyment. Entrance had a woodsy feel to it with signage that was clear to read. In the courtyard you choose which way to go; right heads into the outside beer garden and left brings you inside the brewery and gift shop. Beer garden for us. Seeing that it was covered by a tent thought for sure it was going to be cold inside , we were pleasantly surprised! Decor was paper chains and tissue paper hearts for Valentine's season. They had a creative station for folks to make their own Valentines. Also in the same area was a game bookshelf filled with board and card games to play. At the bar was a young man smiling as he welcomed us. We read the menu and for something different I chose "Cabin Weekend" the name reminded me of our camp in the Western mountains. We both enjoy whiskey so thought the aged barrels used for this brew would make a tasty treat. Grabbed our beers and then over to the food truck attached to the tent, clever. Bite into Maine is the food truck here today, unsure if different trucks come here or not. We wanted something small and shareable. Mac and cheese it was. We sat down at one of the many empty tables and began to enjoy our beers and food. Cabin weekend was so delicious! It was a strong onto 8.9%! Tasty with the faintest hint of whiskey and a cabin feel for the finish. The Mac and cheese was dense and rich!! The fork could practically stand upon its own! It was good in my opinion however don't think I could have finished the portion in my own. We enjoyed so much we will be back for some to bring away with us to our cabin in the woods. read more

We (my wife and I) did the 4:30 PM brewery tour -- 30', very nice. Great intern giving the tour. I personally love White Allagash beer, it's the beer I drink pretty much every evening at home so it was nice to visit the brewery. We liked everything about it. Very nice staff, great atmosphere, family friendly, there is an Airstream Food Truck -- great red dogs and lobster rolls, great potato salad. Also, seasonal beers otherwise hard to find. Unfortunately, we didn't make it for a dine-in experience but we did stop in the following day to grab a few canned beers and items from their shop. Their shop has a great selection of beers including limited-edition varieties you can't get in most stores. They also have other souvenirs such as shirts, glasses, mugs, bottle openers and other items. Great environment and space overall...lots of open space with tables and chairs throughout. There is a Bite Into Maine food truck in the front which is a great option. All staff we encountered during our short time there were great...friendly and helpful. read more

Great service and the Maine Blueberry Ale is where it is at! I'm not a beer girl but I could have drank three of these. Unfortunately it is only available at the brewery, as I just found out on their website. I asked about it at a liquor store in Southwest Harbor and they had no clue what I was talking about. Petition to sell in stores, Allagash! Lots of picnic tables outside and there was live music when we were there. We also learned that if a staff member is wearing a particular pin on their shirt, they are trained to assist those who are living through abuse escape it. More companies need to do this! read more

We came on a Monday in July to try their seasonal beer tasting which is a sampling of about 5 beers. The bartender was very friendly and told us about some other local breweries that he likes. I would have booked a brewery tour as well if I knew how quick this would be but it was still cool. Mostly because we had to take an Uber to get here as it was about 20 min away from downtown where we were staying. Note, if you are visiting the area and staying downtown, you cannot walk here you have to drive/take an Uber. Again, it was about a 15-20 min Uber ride. That being said, really cool place. Outside area is nice. Beer is very good. I love their popular Allagash White. There is another brewery right across the street as well but didn't seem too busy. We enjoyed our visit. read more

Let's call this a Brewery Tour review. We came to Allagash on our way out of town to see this iconic brewery. Allagash White is a classic. The tour is $20 and includes 4-5 tastes along the way. The main brewhouse is HUGE by now, their 30th Anniversary. 2000lb bags of grain, 24 hour brewing cycle 4 days per week. Hot tip, tour during the week to smell the wort and see the packaging line. The keg robot was amazing, worth the price of admission. (Brewery Nerd approved & recommended) Bottling and Canning lines also mesmerizing! Theres a barrel house in the original brew building with emphasis on lambic style, "coolship" beers. Dave our guide was Solid We did two rounds of 4 tasting trays. tasters are $3ish and we enjoyed everything. Light beers, a triple ipa, sours with peaches, dark lagers with cherries. Pale with sauv blanc must! The sour beers are moderately sour. Staff was excellent at the taps and in the gift shop. Taste of Maine food vendor, delicious. read more

Allagash Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Portland, Maine in 1995. It was founded by brewer Rob Tod. Initially working as an employee for Vermont-based Otter Creek Brewery, Tod did everything from washing kegs, to cleaning tanks, to brewing beer. Although German and English styles were readily available throughout the United States, Tod realized that Belgian styles were harder to come by. He rented out a spot in the corner of a warehouse in an industrial park in Portland, assembled a 15-barrel brew system, and called it "Allagash Brewing Company" (named for the Allagash Wilderness Waterway). The first beer Tod brewed was a Belgian-style Witbier which he dubbed "Allagash White". The beer soon put Allagash on the map and it's still the brewery's flagship beer. Another brewer, Jason Perkins, was hired in 1999, and he helped the brewery develop a wider portfolio of Belgian-style beers. By 2010, Allagash had reached capacity and they moved to a larger space next door. Additonal expansions have occurred since then. As of 2025, Allagash is one of the most successful and well-respected craft breweries in the United States, with both the brewery and Allagash White receiving numerous accolades. A secondary taproom opened in nearby Scarborough in 2025. My extended family and I visited Allagash Brewing for lunch this past summer while we were vacationing in Maine. I've enjoyed Allagash White numerous times since I first became interested in craft beer, but not too many other offerings besides that. Once I visited the brewery itself, I realized that they have so many other offerings in their repertoire. The brewery was a very impressive facility with plenty of outdoor seating. In fact the whole street, Industrial Way, is a craft beer paradise with no less than five breweries. My family and I grabbed a table and then we ordered some drinks. I ordered a taster flight which featured "Farm to Face" (Peach Sour), "Once Upon an Orchard: Pawpaw Fruit" (Fruited Wild Ale), "Fox Leap" (Cherry Sour), and "From Maine, With Love #40" (Double IPA). I was very impressed with everything I tried! My wife enjoyed a pour of their delicious "Rosé Cider"; I had no idea that they made cider too! Bite Into Maine, an award-winning food truck, is also permanently parked at the brewery. My wife and I both ordered the "Fresh Maine Lobster Roll Flight" which featured three styles of lobster rolls: Maine (mayo & chives), Connecticut (just warm butter), and Picnic (coleslaw, butter, celery salt). They were out-of-this-world! Our sons both enjoyed some iconic Maine "Red Hots". Before leaving, I purchased a couple of bottles in the merch store to take home. Allagash was one of the original breweries that enticed me and many others into craft beer during the 2000s and 2010s. Allagash White was a classic and continues to be one of the best macro option on the east coast. We ended up in Allagash's parking lot by coincidence as my wife was interested in the lobster roll food truck parked on their lot. On a side note, the food truck is outstanding! I had the Kickabout lager and we eventually circled back around for to try the Two Ligtts lager with Cabernet Sauvignon must. The draft list is solid and the bottle selection inside is superb. The draft list has more sessionable options while the bottle has the heavy hitting Belgian styles that propelled Allagash to the forefront of the east coast craft beer scene. The grounds are wonderful. There are Brewery tours. The aforementioned food truck. Tons of seating. Board games and lawn games. Big communal tattoo South exterior sinks. This is probably the best brewery I've ever been to. The beer selections are wonderful. I'm absolutely blown away by their blueberry ale and the honey tripel. The famous allagash white is also very enjoyable. There are food trucks at the brewery too and the sandwiches are very fresh and tasty. The homemade Whoopi pie is fantastic. There's also a very cute gift shop inside with lots of nice souvenirs/beers you can bring home. I bought an allagash beer glass and I can't wait to use it at home. A large brewery with lots of beer choices. Allagash offers easy parking, with a food truck in the lot offering lobster rolls and other Maine inspired food options. The seating are is outdoor only, but on a sunny, hot afternoon it was comfortable under the outdoor pavilion. Our group ordered flights, and sampled their white , seasonal - a citrusy lager, cherry lager, key lime and a beer with Cabernet Sauvignon, and a few others. My wife and I stopped in around 4:30 PM on Monday, August 18. We received a nice tasting of about three beers, and then the hospitality of the food truck staff as well as the brewery staff. Overall, everything was fantastic. I got the red potato salad with a lobster BLT. My wife got a plain grilled cheese. As a visitor from New Mexico, I enjoyed trying out this new brewery. The Allagash white by far is my favorite. The food was prepared promptly as well. The staff was all very nice and very cordial. The only needs improvement. I feel as they close down at 6 PM. Seems a little odd considering there were still people trying to get there after 6 o'clock, but I'm sure there's a good reason for that. read more

What a cool brewery in Portland, ME. My husband is a huge fan of Allagash, so I knew we had to make this a stop on our trip while in Maine. They're known for their Allagash White, which was delicious, but what made this place even more unique was all the other beers that we've never tried from Allagash before. They also had spots to keep people warm, like separate fire places for groups and covered indoor spaces for you to enjoy. The drinks were relatively cheap as well. What a wonderful brewery. I was soo excited to finally come by especially since I consume Allagash alot. They have a wonderful outdoor area with seats that is a perfect place to hang when the weather gets warmer There are two parts to this brewery. The inside /tent area is where you can sit and enjoy your beer and some food from a food truck. The other part is where the gift shop/ restrooms and the actual brewery is. I'm not a beer drinker, but my husband is! On a flight out here, a guy sitting next to me said we should go to this brewery - so we did. We got there in the late afternoon and there were a lot of people. We showed our IDs, got our hands stamped and went to get drinks. They have one cider there so I got that and it was just okay. My husband had a Curio (Belgian style ale) and a North Sky (stout) and he enjoyed both. There was a food truck there but we didn't get any food. I saw some people walking g around with food that looked good though! We got there a little too late for the last tour. I heard good things about them though. I fell in love with Allagash White in 2014 at a bar in LIC NY Dominie's Hoek. I have posted from that day on my love for this beer. And at least one to two times a month I treat myself to an Allagash at the Bonnie Bar located in Astoria. After many years, I finally ventured to Portland, Maine to what I would consider the mothership. I was in awe of the beautiful property. I had a flight of different beers and I can tell you that I absolutely enjoyed everyone that I tried. I also treated myself to the lobster flight from the food vendor Bite Into Maine . Each and every lobster roll was delicious and well worth the money. Completing a bucket list visit was so satisfying with my Allagash White right before I called it a day. I just love the fact that this brewery is so welcoming to all beer lovers, even us New Yorkers! read more

It's a beautiful venue (we went in fall) and the weather was nice and crisp. Everyone was super friendly and happy to explain or recommend things to us. Went here and toured the brewery. If you like light and flavorful beers, look no further. Allagash might be known for their White, but they have so many other beers that should be available across the continental US (please come to Phoenix!). The Curieux is at the top of that list with a bourbon barrel age that gives a rich golden ale taste. Others include their House, Ski House (which is incredible), Cellars #9, Cellars #12, and Once Upon an Orchard. It was not at all what I was expecting out of a widely distributed brewery. Great small town outdoorsy feel, real close to the downtown of Portland. We were fortunate enough to be there with the lobster roll truck and enjoyed a flight of lobster rolls (Maine, Connecticut, and picnic) with our flights of beer. Wish they had more on tap to choose from and they close VERY EARLY during the week (6pm!) with last call 30 min before and you're out at 6 whether or not your beer is done. But fear not- there are 4 other breweries you can walk to next door to continue your evening. read more

Really cool brewery! They have many different seating areas, outdoor areas, gift shop, etc. It was a nice day so we sat out on the picnic tables. You walk inside to the bar to place orders. They have my favorite beer of all time, Allagash White. My husband and I had a flight as well and we liked every beer. They have a food truck outside with a small menu. We got two soft pretzels. They were just ok, nothing special. Their mustard and beer cheese was very good! They had a really cool gift shop with nice merchandise. All of the clothes seemed to be good quality. They had a nice sale rack as well. There were a few raffles going on as well as a contest. A very active brewery with a lot to offer. Since it was the weekend before Halloween we saw lots of kids running around in costumes, dogs too. Overall a great vibe, very inviting with delicious beer. read more

You can find Allagash Brewing Co at 50 Industrial Way, Portland, ME 04103 in what appears to be an industrial park. There seems to be a handful of breweries in the same area with one right across the street from Allagash's parking lot. This is a fairly large regional brewery - I've had a few of their beers in the past so they do make it down to Atlanta where I live. As you approach the brewery you're carded and stamped so you can purchase alcohol. There's a main bar inside and a satellite outside by a bunch of covered picnic tables - it was pretty busy around 2:00 Friday afternoon right after tourist season (mid-Sept). I went back to the bathrooms - they have individual stalls each with a locking door so everyone is co-mingled with sinks for washing up across the wall. There's apparently a barrel room side to the brewery - as we were catching a flight I didn't bother but plan to explore further during our next trip. Service for beer was good with the beertenders answering any questions. We had time for two: * From Main, With Love #30 Wild Ale 7.4% ABV - 4/5 Slightly sour nose belies the slightly bitter body on this concoction. Wife thought it smelled rank but what does she know? * Foliage Report Belgian Dubbel 7% ABV - 4/5 Classic Belgian Dubbel, appropriately bitter balanced against a sweet malty body, notes of toffee. Had a good time dropping by but as mentioned our flight was pending - this brewery is fairly close to the jetport and with the other nearby breweries I'll plan to spend the whole day next time. read more
