Got a haircut from Anastasia, and she was great! I've needed to find a new barber since moving to New York, and Anastasia came highly recommended from my brother. I think I've found the right place on my first try. I made an appointment and showed up on time. Anastasia was with another client so I sat on their very comfortable couch for a couple minutes, and before I knew it, it was my turn. Anastasia was very careful about asking what I wanted, giving me advice when I asked for it, and keeping the conversation light and interesting. During the cut itself, she clearly knew what she was doing and didn't seem to struggle cutting Asian hair (which happens more than you might think). After the cut came the neck shave and the hair wash, and the service and feel was great during both. She even styled my hair after so I would be ready to go out later that day. One important thing to note - their tips are cash only! I didn't have cash so I felt really bad about not tipping and I'll definitely make it up next time I go, but just an FYI! read more

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! I have been going to Anastasia for a few years now and have a beard that needs about as much maintenance as a garden hedge. It can be hard to manage if i don't get it trimmed regularly. She is amazing! She will listen to what you want and do exactly what you ask for while checking in before making any major cuts. She spends a solid 20 min on my beard alone! I never walk away not satisfied. She is also great at giving a fresh hair cut as well. I have been going to Yana for my haircuts the last 4 years (including at her previous shop) and it's always a guaranteed great cut. On top of that, she always remembers who you are, everything about you, and is a fun person to talk to. She convinced me to get the purifying scalp treatment...and it was legit (basically a 10-15 min scalp massage and my hair felt softer than it ever had). I now get it every other haircut because it was so awesome and made my hair grow in thicker. Master Barbers is very clean and is following COVID restrictions thoroughly. Olga gives the *best* haircut in NYC. I come all the way from Chelsea to the Upper East side for Olga. She is meticulous and consistent and has an excellent sense of style.
