We noticed a leak in our roof during a rain storm and needed an emergency fix before the rain started again. After calling many places with no luck, I was able to get in touch with Lorenzo. He happened to be in the neighborhood and was able to get to the house within minutes. He added sealant to fix the leak and assessed a potential other problem. We needed to have our shake roof replaced and selected Master Craft Roofing to do the job. Although there was a bit of a wait due to them being very busy, when the time came for our job to begin it went very quickly. The men had the old roof removed by the early afternoon, well before the initial material delivery later that day. The following day had them busy putting up the OSB with Radiant Barrier and GAF Roof Protection. The next work day had the entire new roofing material installed and the job site was cleaned up. The job was done efficiently and we are very happy with the results. I have friends who are looking for roofing repairs and new roofs to be installed. While updating my service panel, I had a terrible electrical contractor who left cracks in my roof that caused seepage issues. It was then I started to look for urgent repair and eventually replace the aged roof. Joe was quick to respond and come over to look at the issue. He gave a quick fix to stop the seepage. I also got a quote from him to get the roof replaced. Joe is very knowledgeable, humble, and patient with people. He took pictures, shared options, and gave us a reasonable quote. He wasn't the cheapest, but he was most professional in approaching the project. We also had new pavers and didn't want heavy trucks to roll on the newly paved driveway. Joe, Alex, and the team were very considerate and didn't fuss about it. They found a solution to deliver the roofing material using the forklift and crane from the road. The entire project was estimated for four days, but the crew was very professional, arrived on time, executed the project flawlessly, and completed it in two days. It's been a very stressful week for our family due to a roof leak over our nook. Our home has a fairly new roof (~3-4 years), and we weren't worried about the atmospheric river we were experiencing. That is until I saw water running down the windows and light fixtures. I tried calling some roofing companies that I had references for, but they didn't respond. My solar company was not able to schedule an appointment for inspection right away. Whenever there was a downpour, the rain water found another low point. It was a disaster. I immediately contacted Rick and he was kind enough to accommodate the request within a couple of days. He identified what caused the leak and patched the roof with a sealant. Back in early December during the heavy rains, our townhouse ceiling started leaking. I reached out to a few roofing companies to get an estimate on a repair. I called Master Craft but their message said that because they were so busy they were not scheduling any new repair jobs, only roof replacements...so I hung up. Within a couple of minutes I received a call (which I didn't answer since I didn't recognize the number) and then a text apologizing for not being able to answer my call. I texted back to thank them for replying and explained that I had hung up since they weren't doing repairs. I briefly explained out situation but figured that would be the end of the conversation. Instead, they offered to swing by the next day between jobs and if it was something they could quickly fix then he'd take care of it right then and there. I figured, great, they can come take a look while I waited to hear back from other companies. Within a few more minutes, they texted back after taking a look at the roof using google earth and started asking more questions about the roof. Turns out, I was texting with the owner, Joseph...I was very impressed at how responsive and proactive he was, especially considering I had not heard back from any of the other companies as of yet. The next day, he texted me prior to arriving even though I had told him the day before that no one was going to be at the house. Immediately after his inspection (as in, he was still on the roof), Joseph sent me a bunch of pictures and texted me to briefly describe the problems he found. It was clear from the pictures that the roof was in really poor condition, which wasn't surprising as it was 24 years old and hadn't been maintained. Once down from the roof, he called me and explained in great detail what he found, what the pictures were showing, and how improper installation resulted in the roof failing in a number of areas in addition to where it was leaking. It was obvious he really knew his stuff and was passionate about his job. I asked him to provide a quote to the HOA for not only my roof, but the attached unit as well (part of a duplex) as well as the other building on the property (4 townhouses in all). I'm the type of person who would rather pay a little more in exchange for a better product or service and thought their quote would be on the higher side of the ones we were getting. Since this would be covered under the HOA, I figured they would choose to go with the least expensive option no matter what and that it was unlikely that we'd go with Master Craft. I had contacted 7 companies in all. One stopped responding after initial contact, another apologized but said they were too busy to come out, one charged just to take a look at the roof, another said it only needed to be repaired and that the roof was in decent condition, while two others found similar findings as Master Craft. I didn't have any faith in the company that said the roof was in decent condition because I had seen the pictures from Joseph. They obviously had the lowest quote which we disregarded. Of the three "legitimate" quotes we received, to my surprise Master Craft was actually the best in terms of cost and included services. From the time I first contacted them to when we received the quote was 1 week. Unfortunately, the HOA was very slow and indecisive. They kept changing their minds and we went back and forth on roof repair vs replacement, on which company to go with, and on and on. At one point the HOA decided to go with Master Craft and, after I notified Joseph, the HOA changed their minds and wanted to get one more quote. Through it all, Joseph remained very patient with us and extended the quote for beyond the 1 month as stated in the contract. Finally, after 2.5 months, the HOA decided to go with Master Craft to replace the roof on both buildings. Through the entire process, Joseph and Alex (project manager?) were awesome to work witt. Very knowledgable, superb customer service, and extremely patient. Communication with them either by text, email, and phone was so easy. I would get a response from them usually within minutes and never more than a few hours, no matter what time of day or night I reached out to them. I couldn't be happier with my experience with Master Craft and would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Found a small leakage in one of our bedrooms after heavy rain & winter storms recently. Called Master Craft and some other roofers. Quickly set up an appointment over the phone with Master Craft. Rick show up on time and found out immediately the cause of leakage. He was able to came back to fix the leakage on the same day. Now after several days of heavy rain, we do see the leakage has been stop. He also check in periodically to see if the problem has been fixed. I can not speak more highly of Joseph and his business. Joseph is an honest, genuine, friendly professional that you can trust with all your roofing needs. I recently had a roofing emergency due to recent storm. I reached out to many companies, but Joseph responded within the hour and said could come out the following day. I told him my roofing problem, Joseph told me my options, what he could do, and was very upfront about the price. But more importantly, he definitely did not have to (but this tells you a lot about his honest character), he suggested that I also reach out to the builder of my home because this should be covered by warranty. I didn't hear back from the builder so continued to schedule my appointment with Joseph for the following day. The next morning, the builder sends someone to fix my roofing problem without giving me a heads up and so I contact Joseph right after to tell him that my problem was fixed but I wasn't sure how well, but I didn't want him to waste a trip if the problem was probably already fixed. Despite knowing this, Joseph still offered to come and check out if my problem was fixed properly and see if I had any other issues free of charge. Once he arrived, he was very professional and checked out multiple problems I was having and again, told me things to watch out for, how to monitor (even let me hold on to a device to help monitor), how these problems should be fixed, and suggested again for me to reach out to the builder as it should covered by warranty. And if my builder won't cover it, he provided me with the options his team can provide as well. He spent a few hours helping me and didn't try to charge me at all for his precious time. Overall, I've just had the most pleasant experience so far with Joseph. He is a very trustworthy and knowledgeable professional, which is hard to come by these days. My husband and I have used numerous contractors to do renovation work on various residential homes (this is actually our 3rd roof with 3 separate properties). Given our experience, I'd consider Joe, Alex, and their crew at Master Craft Roofing to be within our top 3 of contractors we've EVER worked with. We made appointments to get quotes from 5 different roof contractors in a single day while we were visiting my parents, who've been long overdue for a new roof. They have had their wood shake roof for over 30 years and we knew it was time for an upgrade due to CA's fire hazards and upcoming 'fall' rain. Joe was extremely punctual and arrived early to our appointment. He provided a thorough overview with detailed explanations of various roofing system, underlayment, and ventilation options and even had samples to share with us. He gave us plenty of options backed by his workmanship warranty and the material warranty without ever being pushy. Toward the end of our consultation he wanted to take photos of the roof to determine the cost of the job. I initially thought he would grab a ladder to go up to the roof like the rest of the contractors, but he instead took out his drone to capture the photos. Can I just say, I was SO blown away by the use of his drone!? It was such a unique experience that I had to call my mom out to have a look. She was very impressed with the drone footage as well! Joe was nice enough to allow us to experience that with him and he even shared the photos with us! The great thing is that our consultation with Joe was professional, informative, but yet lax, all at the same time. He was able to address all of our questions and was even able to provide a rough quote before he left. As promised, he and his team emailed us with a more detailed quote within 24 hours. He and Alex (Project Manager) were extremely communicative and answered any follow-up questions we had very promptly. Out of all the contractors we met that day, my family knew right away that we wanted to proceed with Joe (his price was mid range, but we could tell the service was just going to be far superior than the lower quotes). In addition, we lucked out - Joe had a cancellation the following week, so he was able to slide us right in. In exactly a week since signing the contract, my parents had a brand new roof! The entire process was so smooth and streamlined, it was as if someone just blinked a new roof onto the house. My parents are extremely happy with their new roof and the service they received. The team arrived promptly at 8am every morning (3 days total) and did a great job cleaning up after themselves each day. We also had an old pool solar panel and large antennae removed from our roof with no issues. They even removed an old basketball hoop without hesitation, a last minute request from my dad. We just got the new GAF solar roof installed by Master Craft. As this is a new product, the county was no help at all and created enormous problems and delays. Alex stood by us every step of the way. By the time we got to the installation I felt perfectly comfortable leaving on an international business trip. Master Craft Roofing saved my insurance policy from being canceled! A few years back, we inherited a house with wood shakes. Because of all the fires in California recently, many insurance companies are canceling policies with a high risk. I was told our policy would not be renewed unless we did something about the roof. I looked around and read reviews on Yelp until I found Master Craft Roofing. I set up an appointment, and Cris came out and gave me a fair estimate to replace the roof and some dry-rotted wood. Because of the rain, the dates got moved back, so I contacted Cris to see if they could move the date up. He found an opening, and the Master Craft crew did a quick and excellent job on the main house's roof. I also had them put TPO on the workshop roof (a separate building) and coated the carport to waterproof it. They also did miscellaneous repairs to some rotted wood areas not part of the roof.
