This is the most bizarre review I've ever written because Arthur didn't do anything!!! Really, my husband and I were so impressed with Arthur's honest, integrity and helpful spirit that we just had to leave a review. We had a 7yr old Kenmore Elite fridge that was an absolute lemon when brand new. It would frost the back wall of of the bottom-mount freezer every 3-4 months...It was a frost-free fridge...and then the motor would stop for a few hours. When it was under warranty, Sears kept telling us we were leaving the door open. Really, for 7 years we couldn't figure out how to close a door? The door seal was replaced, the motor checked, the door reassembled...they simply refused to replace it. We simply had to defrost it regularly. Turns out our problem was happening during Sears' bankruptcy-setup-years and they didn't want to give away stock they could sell. So 2 weeks ago, we'd just defrosted it when it turned itself off and stopped working for a full day. Arthur came the next day, but because there was no frost to see and the damned thing had started to work again, he opted not to mess with it. He asked us a ton of questions trying to narrow down the problem, told us to please book him again as soon as we saw frost developing, and then didn't even charge us for the service call! Of course, the fridge died a few days later. We called Arthur again, not knowing he was on a well-deserved vacation, and he called us back! Not only did he talk us through what he thought the problem was, but he also gave us a quote for what was probably going to be a very costly job, and then he insisted we call a few more repairmen to get other opinions & price quotes. All on his time off!! We decided to just get a new fridge, arrival was 5 days later, and we texted Arthur for the installation. Since we didn't have an icemaker to hook up he said we didn't need him. We reminded him that we still owed him payment for his time when he first came over. Guess What? He wouldn't let us pay him!!! This man is a rare treasure. I was so happy with the prompt response and service! I called regarding my 19 yr old Kenmore (Whirlpool) refrigerator, and Arthur answered my questions, gave me a quote, ordered my part (I knew what it was) and installed it the next day. All fixed and the price was reasonable as well! ($60 less than my Sears quote) Don't call Sears! I had contacted Sears first and was very disappointed: they gave me a same day appt, but later cancelled and couldn't come for 5 days, then when he came he diagnosed it but couldn't get the part for another 5 days and offered an appt in a week - ridiculous! I was very skeptical at first because as a woman I have had my share of service nightmares. Arthur is REALLY good at what he does and on top of that he is a decent person. He fixed my leaking Samsung Washer and freezing Samsung fridge. Our 15 year old refrigerator/freezer started not freezing ice. I called Master appliance repair, and Art was able to fit us in later that day (which was great). Wow, Alan is fantastic! The freezer door and ice maker stopped working on my Samsung side-by-side. Samsung Customer Service referred me to some bizarre texter and I received a quote for $200 service call and $300 for parts - without anyone coming to look at it. So there is nothing like waking up in the morning ready to cook a nice breakfast for your family and finding out that your oven is kaput. And the thing about appliances these days is it can cost nearly as much to fix them as it cost to buy them. Since we cook everyday in quarantine we were desperate to have this done TODAY. I put out a request on Yelp and Artur responded right away. He gave me a clear estimate quote for his labor and was here within about an hour of exchanging data. He was professional, completely CoVid compliant (including shoe covers), found the problem right away (and luckily it was just the igniter - a $27 piece) and had it fixed within about 45 minutes. I asked him if it was common for this piece to wear out and he said it was which is nice to know that ever 3 years or so, for a heavy user, we might expect this. My dishwasher started beeping and I called GE, they told me 3 times how to reset my dishwasher differently. I also ordered a part that I saw when online. The GE service rep wouldn't help me figure out what part to replace. In this case the dishwasher would beep after starting it indicating it wasn't locking. So I replaced the latch for $30 myself but it still was beeping. I called Arthur at 9:00 p.m. and he came the next morning at 9:00 a.m. He listened to what I had done. He did ask for the manual which he found hidden in the bottom of the unit behind the lining. This manual had all the steps to take for different beeps. Again something GE didn't go through with me. The girl was reading the steps but only told me how to reset the unit. After being patient and following the troubleshooting steps, he was able to clean the filter (who knew it had one) and reset the unit... and all seems fine. He ran a cycle and waited to make sure it was really working. GREAT price too. THANK YOU! He wasn't rude either, very pleasant and helped me understand what was going on. read more
