We really liked this place! It's the best Chinese food we've found in Lee's Summit. My wife enjoyed the hot n sour soup, as did I. The crab Rangoon was also very good! Lots of cream cheese and well fried. Crispy. My wife ordered the Springfield Cashew Chicken and loved it! I had the sweet and sour pork, which was excellent. Honestly, it was the best sweet & sour pork I've had. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Very flavorful! We will most certainly be back. I look forward to working our way through the menu. The ambiance here was nice. Quiet and classy. The waiter was very attentive and stopped by several times to check on us. Ordered takeout tonight. They have a great vegan option that includes adding tofu to any of their dishes. Let them know you have a meat and honey allergy to ensure there is no cross contamination. One motto I have lived by is that the hot and sour soup will set my expectations for how good the food tastes. This soup was all time one of the favorites. Our food was fresh for pickup and the service was very nice and ensured there was enough sauce packets. The most place was very clean and that includes the buffet. The food quality dipped around 2019-2020. It seems now the place has rebranded and tastes just like how I remembered. It is by far my favorite place to get fried rice. Ended up coming here for dinner while back in town visiting family. They had recently found this place and apparently there has been some change in ownership last year which led to what I assume the problems were in most of the reviews. I noticed it right off hand as the new name is Ye's Master Wok. The place was very well cleaned, and I was informed that the husband/wife were the owners there and were quite friendly. We ordered some fried shrimp for an appetizer which came out fast and piping hot. They tasted great and we had to let them cool for a minute. I personally order the lemon chicken and was surprised in a good way when it came out and it was the fried flattened chicken breast with the liquid style lemon sauce and not the normal gel style at most Chinese American restaurants. This was because they used real lemon in it and you could tell from the taste and smell. I ate about half, as it was several chicken breasts and quite a bit of rice. I tried the sweet and sour grilled chicken as well and it was decent. I don't normally go for sweet and sour but would enjoy it if that was given to me. read more

First time trying this place and its a winner. I have a go to Chinese place thats closer, but it's closed on Mondays. I tried the Generals chicken. Not too hot and not too mild. They didn't skimp on the broccoli or the chicken either. I don't really notice a difference in the food at most Chinese restaurants, but this place was well above average. The plating was also noticeably better than the typical Chinese place. The best part of this experience, however, was the waiter. There were probably 8-10 tables occupied by 2 to 4 people each. I still don't know how he did it, but nobody had to wait for anything. Even water refills. Not only did he handle the tables, but also ringing up customers and taking care of the to go orders. Prices are outrages! They got my call-in order wrong. When I arrived I had to wait another 15 minutes while they prepared it.

This is the second time where I must remind myself how horribly bland this place is and not to order from here again. The last time I ordered though Doordash and was very disappointed. My first recollection from eating here was that the food was not very fried and that they had tempura, so that must have been long ago. They have changed cooks or something drastic has happened. So, the only good thing that I can say was that the food wasn't really fried. I did, however, order the Crab Rangoon and that is usually good, but not this time. When the server brought it late, after the main course arrived, I opened one Crab Rangoon and asked him kindly to take it off the bill because I wasn't going to purchase form some deep fried wontons with lots of "only" cream cheese filling. What happened to the crab? Anyhow, I ordered the seafood medley mix, and it was like a buttery salt, and bland. Called to ask about my request for chopsticks and spicy mustard, apparently the $5 delivery charge and $10 convenience fee doesn't count when they are having a busy night. Terrible. I ordered the General's Chicken and picked it up in the drive they. Got home and there was not any broccoli with the meal. The manager told me "we don't do that." "We don't put broccoli in it unless you ask for it" the description clearly states it has broccoli in it. Then she said, "we don't add the broccoli when it's to go." So, I have been inside and also have done call ahead/drive through. I do like the drive through option. It seems like they nail it in certain items and strike out in others, this the 3 star rating. I will tell you, their crab rangoon is probably may favorite item there and of anywhere. I love me some crab rangoon and they are among the best. Their cashew chicken (my usual "go to" anywhere) is not my fave here...which disappoints me. I usually get General Tso's which is okay here. Their lunch combo is a pretty good deal. Other than that, expensive for the quality of food you get. I will say the kid's meal is a good value. The pendulum just swings back and forth too much with me with the pros/cons here. But, don't change the crab rangoon ;-) read more

I stopped in for lunch and got takeout. Ate it in my car within five minutes. Ordered shrimp fried rice lunch portion, and eggroll which was really a spring roll, and I substituted a crab Rangoon because I didn't want any soup. Fried rice was good, but the shrimp in it were way overcooked. The shrimp seemed like those pre-cooked frozen shrimp you can buy in the grocery store. The spring roll was very greasy. The crab Rangoon filling just tasted like cream cheese. No pink flecks or any sign of crab, imitation crab, or anything like crab in it. The wrapper on the crab Rangoon was like a spring roll wrapper, and it was also very greasy. 25 years ago, Master Wok was a very good Chinese restaurant. That was back when they had a Lee Summit location that was actually in Lee Summit, and not in Raintree. I have tried the Master Wok Express on Douglas, and it was even worse than this one. They're only serving people through the drive through, you would think it would be even better, only one outlet to take care of. Used to really like the place but last time I tried to order they wanted to charge both a carry out fee and a convenience fee for a total of $5 or more just to get carry out. The did offer a coupon for $3 off if I ordered over 30 easy to do when between taxes and various fees a single dinner and drink would put me near or over that but just decided to let them go out of business if they needed my business again because if I used their coupon to tax away half of their added fees it meant it would mean mandatory enrollment in their email advertising. I just wanted some Spicy shrimp and was willing to take it elsewhere to eat rather than requiring wait staff to take care of me but for that I have multiple fees and if I order more than $30 a coupon that mandates them allowing me no privacy.
