This has to be the worst hair cut I've gotten in my whole entire life.. I live and walk by this barber shop everyday and thought I give it a try. When I walked I wasn't greeted and the only guy that didn't have a wait (always a bad sign) or client waved me down. I asked for a mid fade and it seems like he gave me high no fade at all. I showed him a pic and told him where's the fade. Then he made a comment like I should of showed him the pic before, like if I didn't know what a mide fade was and like I haven't been getting a mid fade all my life... then he up charged after I told him I didn't not like the cut. He told me he doesn't accept card cash only. At first it 26 then once I pulled money out he told me it's actually 30! I didn't want to argue so I asked for my change and walked out feeling like I got gipped by this guy named Michael... If there's anything I can't stand about a barbershop is that you don't get greeted when you walk in and that there is no receptionist to tell you what the wait time will be. I wanted to give a new barbershop a try and so I walked into this establishment just to be disappointed by the poor quality of Customer Service. My 12 year old son needed a haircut due have really long hair. Of course the only time I have is Sunday because of my busy schedule. So anyways we looked for a place to be open on Sunday and looked at reviews and picked Sublime. We showed up without making a reservation so had to wait a small amount of time but they had the football games on so good for me. My first visit as a walk-in. Went to get my beard cleaned up. I've struggled to find a good barber, but I was blown away by Freddy. I told him and showed him a pic, he repeated what I was asking for, walked me through his process and the steps he was going to do. While cutting and trimming I noticed his diligence checking for symmetry. Before he was done, he handed me the mirror, walked me through what he did, and asked if I felt anything was missed or needed to be fixed. He was beyond what I could ask for. read more

I had been growing my hair for over a year and wanted just a slight trim to lighten it up. She hacked it, super short on sides and horrible blend into long and uneven in the back and top. Before going to Sublime, I read some of the reviews and looked at the website. I sent an inquiry via Yelp. I received a response from a Brandon who told me to call and make an appointment. Just wish they would have confirmed that they were able to do what I had inquired about. But as they were rather close to me, I decided to give them a shot. I called and made an appointment for 12:30 pm. My stylist was Ray (Rey... sorry not sure of the spelling of his name). Unfortunately, he did not inquire about the services I wanted on the phone. In terms of convenience, they are quite close to my workplace and home. When I entered the shop, all eyes were on me. I gotta admit, I did feel uncomfortable. A woman to the side said, "Hi" but she did not sound very welcoming. So, I was not sure if I really was welcomed in this store. However, Rey (ray... sorry not sure of his name's spelling) came right up and said hello. If he had not done that as quickly as he did, I was going to turn around and leave. Ray (Rey... sorry not sure of the spelling of his name) took me to his chair and consulted with me about what I wanted. I also inquired about getting a shave as I was also being really lazy about shaving. Now, I have to admit, I'm not a chatty person on the seat. I enjoy watching the process of long, unmanageable hair become short and manageable. However, what made the experience better was that all their TVs are hooked up to Disney+ so I got to watch Captain Marvel, which I thought was cool. The whole process took about 60 minutes and I was satisfied with the end result. They seemed quite busy for a Monday holiday. - - - - - - - - - So, in the end, the real question becomes: Would I return to Sublime Barbershop? And the answer is... (drum roll please) Maybe. Please note that the maybe is not because of Rey (ray... sorry not sure of his name's spelling). He was professional and skilled. He took his time on me. And also respected that I was not the talking type. I would go back for him and his techniques. Also, every client I saw leave seemed very satisfied with their cut. Thus, I do believe the other barbers are very good at their craft. The "maybe" is about the store as a whole. I think if the store and its employees cleaned up on customer service such as.... --Not sitting on their chairs in plain site texting/looking at phones; --Someone being at the reception desk instead of just waiting for someone to walk through the door; --Making sure all customers were welcome and served a drink (there was a drink bar but no client had a drink...not sure what the purpose of that drink bar is for; --Genuinely sincere in their welcoming of clients; --I'm sure if they really thought about it, there is a way--as a team--they would be able to better their customer service. I would definitely change my rating to five stars and go from "maybe" to "definitely". Well, I guess that is it. Came here because my barber was out of town! As a barber/hairstylist myself I get nervous when trying out new barbers for myself. I've had terrible experiences when I first moved here before I found my current barber. I called and spoke to Omar and asked him questions about their type of cuts because I've been to places where they say they can "fade" but they couldn't. Omar assured me he was a legit barber LOL and even told me the tools he uses. He told me to head over and he'd be able to see me. Got there in 10 mins and he saw me 5 mins after signing in and sitting down. Place is nice and has that barber feel to it. I showed Omar pictures of my normal haircut and he told me he'd be able to do that. The cut was good and the price was good too. Such a disappointment... second attempt with Sublime barbershop... first time was fun, second time was confirmation. Inconsistent business practices. what's the old saying: Fool me once, shame on you; Fool me twice, shame on me. Walked in at 12:18 for a cleanup. No greeting, no acknowledgment, literally a bench of people waiting for haircuts. 24 minutes later... still nothing, so i walked out. here are my observations: one barber sat in their chair for 15 mins, waiting for their next appointment, which showed up, but that 15 minutes was a lost opportunity for a walk-in. second barber played on mobile phone for 10 minutes while customers waited on the bench; another lost opportunity. These barbers know nothing about productivity. smh. WTF... is this a BARBERSHOP or Vidal Sassoon salon? Appts are BS; I'm military; don't have time to wait all day. The shop has a cool vibe and style. Friendly staff, once you get a barber you like stick with him/her. Carl is my go to guy. Always a good ideal to make an appt but they do take walk in's. My husband came here to get a haircut because his usual barber wasn't available. We walked in and waited 30 minutes. He decided to wait for the guy that was cutting towards the other end near the restroom. However, it was taking a really long time. Another barber, Michael, just came in and was waiting for his appointment to show up but he was late and so he just told my husband that he can do his haircut. My husband sat on the chair and not even 2 minutes later, Michael's appointment showed up and told him that he's going to have to wait cause he was late for his appointment. Michael rushed my husband's haircut and was very sloppy with it. He was VERY ROUGH with handling his clippers and moving my husband's head. He said it was even worse than from getting a haircut in bootcamp. It took him about 10-15 minutes to cut his hair while the other barbers literally took 45 minutes to cut a kid's hair. You can tell he was rushing as he didn't even clean off the hair on my husband after. My husband's scalp was red with some irritated bumps and he said that he has razor burns. His fade looks VERY SLOPPY AND UNEVEN!! Even so, we still gave him $8 tip. My husband had gotten haircut here before and they always looked good when other barbers did it. VERY DISAPPOINTING. The Barber Maki, she greeted me and offered me a complimentary beer while she cleans up the chair and setting up for the cut.
