I used to love this place, but there's one tech that is drastically different than the others. I've gotten her the last few times and it's a very unpleasant experience. She's extremely rough, leaving scrapes and cuts. My gel polish is uneven and has air bubbles. A few times I've had to go back in the next day because the polish comes off a toe or two. I guess it's now time to move on and try somewhere new. read more

i went for a pedicure with my daughter. the lady working on my pedicure cut me 4 times. the owner was doing a pedicure on a lady next to me. when i jerked my foot back and said ouch, the owner pretended not to hear me. i paid and tipped...not wanting to cause a scene. But i did call in and talked with the owner..all she kept saying was ...do you have neosporin...use neosporin. Over and over. She didnt sorry...didnt offer my money back. i even asked if the person that did this to me was new...she said no..been here a long time. DONT GET THE LADY WITH THE PRETTY GREY HAIR. Wont be going back there and neither will my daughter. They just really dont care. Ill pay more elseware. Id give them a minus if i could. read more

Jenny got me in right away for a mani+pedi. I didn't have an appointment. I paid $20 for Regular Manicure and $37 for Spa Pedicure Plus. The arm and foot massage felt nice and relaxing. Otay Nail & Spa has been open for 4 years the last time I was at location. It seems to be doing very well because there were a lot of people by 1:30pm. The customer service was great the only thing different was seeing a lot of dust in shelves and around the tables. Other than that, I'd come back. Happy Yelping :) read more

Too pushy, keep pushing services I didn't want or need, the work was okay. Vibe was decent. The owner kept offering services didn't want or need. I really don't like being pressured when getting my nails done, I'm there to relax. Did also get wax done ( upper lip) she did it so fast ending up taking some skin off!!! Seems all they want is more money from you! Ain't coming here again. read more

The service I received here was one of the worst ones in a long time and I'm never going there again. I went in for a pedicure appointment, the lady managed to talk me into getting a gel manicure as well and that ruined my nails for months afterwards. She said it would be good for my nails but the gel was done way too thick and there was gapping between my actual nail-bed. When I tried to bring anything to her attention during; for example the uv light was starting to hurt, she simply dismissed me and said that's ok.. rude and the cherry on top was the price was totally misleading. Told me it would be around 50 and I ended up paying almost 100. Walked out feeling robbed. I've now found a different place to go to and won't ever take my business here again read more

I've been coming here for over a year now and Moon is wonderful! She's always so accommodating with my last minute scheduling, she's very sweet and always appreciative for choosing her. I have been coming here for many years and it's like home. The spa is clean, updated, has more colors and options than I could ever even think of, and the staff is absolutely amazing. BEWARE. The employees here have no respect and have some type of superior entitlement. Don't come unless you want to get shit talked about in Vietnamese Not sure what the lady's name was but she kept on pushing me to do more than what I intended to come in for. IF I'll ever even come back, I'll update the review with her photo. I had long gel overlay nails that needed a fill but I just wanted them taken off. Needed a break. I asked for a simple manicure with white regular nail polish, not gel. She continues to talk shit to her coworker while the coworker was doing my pedicure in Vietnamese. She then was about to apply a purple colored lotion to massage my arms but I asked her if it was Lavender scented because I'm allergic to it. She didn't understood what I said so I told her, forget the massage. She then went along and started painting my nails. Now from my experience from getting manicures, there's always a base coat. NO BASE COAT was added. She then continues to say "Oh this girls nails are not gonna last and they're gonna chip." Sure enough it did because SHE didn't prep the nail it needed, the base coat. Did not receive the service and hospitality from this salon. And the funniest thing is that I UNDERSTAND VIETNAMESE and she was talking shit the WHOLE TIME. read more

I gave them a second chance. I came back and was very clear about the services I wanted to avoid an upcharge or surprise pricing. But ended up getting injured during my pedicure. Which honestly, mistakes happen, but the fact that her response was that I'm never satisfied was the last straw! She did clean up the previous lady's work which helped it not turn into an infection, so I'm grateful for that. But it was sore and caused a lot of pain and irritation for weeks!!!! read more

I had read good things about this place. They were very pushy for gel polish and when I kept saying no the girl got up and of course was saying things in her language and had someone else do it. My daughter wanted French on her nails and the other woman wouldn't do it like she wanted. Her toes were done by another person. So crooked and nail polish was not on the whole nails. My daughter had to go home and file so the shape looked the same. The price was high for subpar service, and not doing what we wanted. read more

I am so disappointed in jenny and I am never coming back ever again. I am attaching a picture of what i asked for and what i got. I was so unhappy with the result. My middle finger was all crooked, when i told the lady that, she blamed it on my "crooked bone" and just left it instead of fixing it. (Ive had my nails done for years and qualified nail artists always leave them straight - so that is such a lousy excuse) I also asked for a manicure and she never gave it to me. She charged me 60$ for this. The nail polish is so messy and she didn't even fill the nail. They were so chunky and ugly. I told her how long i wanted them and she just kept filing and left them super short. The shape was all wrong and the design looked like it was done by a 5yr old - she didn't even try. After fixing them, they had the audacity to charge me another 20$. How is that logical? Why would I have to pay for your mistakes and poor service? This is not the first time I have a bad experience with this place- the last time was a couple of years ago when I came in with my natural long nails. I specifically told the lady "do not cut them- they are real." I just wanted a refill. The lady just went "yeah yeah yeah" and then cut them anyways !!! I was so upset i mean that took me so long to grow !! And when i expressed my frustration jenny only took off 5$ ... i had to pay $90 for acrylics that I never even asked for and for the fact that she cut off my real nails. I am so disappointed in this place i used to come here a lot and for years but im done. I cant believe this is how they would treat a loyal customer. I have always been a generous tipper here and they just charge me more for horrible service. Don't come here, they dont care about you they just want to get as much money as they can from you. And if you pay attention, they always charge differently even when you ask for the exact same thing you always ask for. read more

Moon was my nail tech. The shape mismatch is because these are my real nails, and I did not want to round them off. Having worn acrylic tips for years, I wanted my own nails to breathe and take a break. She was extra gentle and attentive, understanding my desire to spare my nails from harsh tools. I went through the week and the vibe was chill and comfortable. Very clean atmosphere and the pedi chairs are nice. Would recommend either Moon or the owner Jenni. read more

Waited in the chair for 45 minutes, water got so cold. The pedicure lasted 17 minutes. It was So rushed. Not relaxing at all. Will not return. If they say come in expect to wait a long time. Mostly likely they're busy and don't want to loose a customer. read more

Treated my sister and mother for a mani and spa pedicure! It wasnt crowded at all around 1pm on a Tues...were able to get 3 spa med massage chairs side by side. The prices are reasonable...spa pedi #35 with the sea salt exfoliator! The ladies were all very sweet and gentle when cutting cuticles, trimming around the nails and also calous removing! Just moved from Orange County and got my nails done here for the first time in this area - it was horrible. Never going back. Over priced! $48 for a regular gel manicure?! This is our go to nail salon. Jenny the owner is great. I always take advantage of using the massage chairs during the pedicures. I only get gel nails but my daughter always does the fancy designs. I've got facial waxes here but have stopped doing the brow waxes recently because depending on who's doing it. I always ask not to touch my brow shape and it ends up getting thinned out. I should get her name next time, it's an older lady. They accept venmo. I always call before coming in because they're usually busy. read more

Review for my wife who went there and got duped into getting more and paying for more service than what she wanted. I called ahead and asked for hand nail gel with tip. The lady said they charge $50. When my wife went in, she was forced to get other services plus the original gel on nails. It totaled to $150 for hands and pedicure. She felt totally unheard and forced. Totally unprofessional. Great local nail salon. It gets pretty busy, but I always try and make an appointment because it's worth it. It's located in a shopping center with a few places to grab food. He didn't even file my nails, but I couldn't bear saying more. Ugh! He also made a comment to the technician next to him in his own language, which made me uncomfortable. The scheduling guy said I should've mentioned it, but I didn't want to put Dan on the spot at the time. Overall, I was disappointed with the service and would not return to him. Another customer suggested that I make an appointment with one of the more experienced technicians, to ensure I receive a good service.

Today, the quality was lacking but I know that's not usual. I was quoted a 15 minute wait time and waited 25-30. They were really nice and gave me water. I also had to have gel paint removed from my toes, so that took an extra 10mins (no extra charge). Although, the menu says a pedicure is 25 mins, I was there an hour not including my wait time. In the end she didn't massage my legs or do lotion, just some oil and a hot towel. They didn't even help me put my sandals back on, she just went straight to the desk to wait for me to pay. If the pedicure process has changed, I'd prefer the menu description options reflect that. I noticed a difference in customer service as time went on and I declined a manicure. Oh well.

ALL PEOPLE BEWERE I firstly want to say that I didn't even use yelp before this, I downloaded the app solely for the purpose of leaving this review. I didn't have the app and I never once have left a review on anything before. With that being said, I was over-charged immensely and I wasn't even given the design I asked for. Many of the nail techs were rude to me and when I asked questions about my nail design shape,etc I was met with my nail tech saying "shhhh I know I know" dismissively. This is further offensive because a man, whom I didn't ask for, was doing my nails instead of the person I made my appointment with. when I asked about the nail tech I made my appointment with I was told she was "too busy" . I am fairly sure he does not have a License and was practicing, I think this way because there was no certificate at his station and his technique is unlike any I've ever seen, this is further supported by the fact that other techs were watching and monitoring him almost as if he is being guided. My nails were barely measured for length and came out pudgy with an inconsistent shape. I was over charged for my design when they didn't AT ALL give me what I asked for.My nails look choppy and I was charged for length when they are considerably short and the shape is wrong. I also got my toes done and chose not to get a full pedicure, but then I was charged FULL PEDICURE PRICE. Then I was met with stuttering and confusion when I asked for a price breakdown. I am fully sure that the head nail tech in charge was making up charges to stick me with a hefty bill. I was told different prices throughout the entire experience and when my nails came out to 70 DOLLARS I recognized that they over charged me in purpose.I firmly believe that I was charged this way because I am a black person. An example of this is when my Mexican(very fair skinned) sister went and got a very similar design,length, shape, and even color it was only $55. Her service wasn't nearly as bad and when she had questions or problems with her nails she said she was treated with kindness and understanding. If I could give ZERO stars I would.
