Amit and his team did a great job on our bathroom renovations! This was our first major home project, and we heard horror stories of renovations gone wrong, so we were prepared for a bumpy ride. Fortunately, we had a positive experience with Masterpiece and would work with them again for future home projects! We spoke with Amit a number of years ago when we first considered redoing our bathrooms, and when Amit was with a different building group. At the time, Amit stuck out to us as professional, honest, and competent. We decided to hold off on our renovations, but several years later, we reached out to vendors again, remembered Amit, and discovered he moved on to create Masterpiece. We did our due diligence with several other firms and PMs, and decided to move forward with Masterpiece, due to their competitive pricing, answers to our questions around the initial quote, and best PM fit. The greatest challenges we encountered were the delay in receiving the permit to start the work (out of our hands), and some hiccups with the designer. While we went in with an idea of the overall design we wanted, we found that the communication style and attention to detail of our designer was not the best fit. However, after we finalized the design component and were ready for construction, we had a positive experience with the crew. Both bathroom renovations entailed significant layout changes. Going into the project, we were concerned about hidden fees and change orders. While we did end up with some change orders, we knew they were costs we could not have anticipated until construction began, and Amit was transparent and fair around pricing and alternatives. The crew was quick and efficient, and since we did not fully move out during construction, they were very considerate about keeping the renovation areas taped off and sweeping/cleaning the entry areas at the end of each day. Due to some of the design rendering hiccups, there were times where installation locations and heights were not clear, but the crew did their best to doublecheck with us and/or correct areas we were not satisfied with. Throughout construction, if we had questions, Amit was very responsive and kept all vendors and the crew in the loop. Even when the project was nearly complete or fully complete, if we had issues with fixtures or questions, there has been no hesitation to come back and help tweak things. I hired Amit for a kitchen remodel after we had a leak that damaged a lot of the kitchen. He was great at working in a quick timeline since we didn't have much time to plan everything. We then expanded the scope to also remodel both bathrooms and also replace flooring and paint the house interior. In total it took around 2 months, which is fast for this amount of work. Amit was always very communicative and responsive. He helped me with some of the design choices like selecting tile and cabinets, and suggested which vendors to use. When the tile store gave us not enough tile for one of the bathrooms he was able to work with them to get us some extra that same day so we wouldn't be delayed. I had never done a big project like this before so I didn't know what to expect but it ended up going very well and the house looks fantastic. I had my entire house remodeled, kitchen, three bathrooms, laundry, whole house painted and flooring, I can't say how much helpful he was in terms of organizing the workflow and visiting the site all the time. He is on top of the work. Very friendly and helpful, he always responds even he has many things going on, he never left me hanging there, he gives great solutions, he never left anything unsolved. 2700 sqft house was done fully remodeled in less than 3 months! It could have been done faster if I had everything ready. I did one master bath remodeled fully with shower and tub, one guest bath with shower floor tiled, all toilets and floor tile, then house flooring laminate, stairs, a half bath fully remodeled, kitchen fully remodeled, fireplace and lots of plumbing. He and his team did a great job. He was happy to join us at the various stores to pick out tile, fixtures and cabinets. And when the measurements for the cabinets that we did didn't work we had a meeting with the cabinet people. We were 5 minutes late and by the time we got there Amit had moved things around to make it perfect. And his team was outstanding at the actual build. This review is long overdue after a full house remodel that includes structural change/wall removal, kitchen & bathroom reconfiguration/remodel, floors/baseboards, fireplaces removal, raising hallway ceiling, garage firewall, electric upgrade, and interior/exterior paint. It was our first-time doing a remodel and we heard some bad stories so we were pretty nervous about who we work with. After some research and 3 interviews with contractors, we chose to work with Amit and his team. The project started from early Feb to mid July 2022. We could not have asked for a better result. - We removed a structure wall to open up the kitchen and the living area. At the time, we were stressed that the ceiling would not be seamlessly flat without a notable belly curve. Amit assured us to not worry and it was done properly. - There were no cost increases from the quote. The only additional cost was due to unforeseen termite repair and tent which was understandable. - The project timeline was good. There was a delay due to two damaged kitchen base cabinets from the cabinet supplier but Amit handled it with them well. We were happy that the full house remodel was completed by 5.5 months during pandemic when it was hard to get anything done. - Amit worked with us to resolve any unforeseen issues. Our original design had 1 door between the family room & the living room and closed out a door. As soon as we closed out one door, we noticed that the view to the backyard got cut off so the backyard seemed to be much smaller. We asked if we can have the door opened up again and his team did it free of charge. - Amit speaks fluent Spanish and communicates very well with us and the construction team. In summary, I highly recommend Amit and his team due to his engineering knowledge, great personality, flexibility and cost/schedule control.
