These guys know their stuff. We came in twice and recommended by Insight shooting range. We had a 25mm that hasn't been used in 15 years so it was getting stuck so we took it here and they fixed it quickly and now it works like a gem. We came back and they looked at our 9mm because it wasn't shooting accurately and they told us what the issue was and what we had to buy to fix it since they didn't have the product on hand. My P-12 shoots just like it did when new. And operates like a dream. Nice to know and feel I can trust my sidearm, should it ever have to be deployed. I found my gunsmith(s)! I am hesitant to write this, as they might get too many customers and I'll have to wait for service, haha. These guys are awesome. I worked with Sal, who looks about 19, but he is a savant who has forgotten more about guns than you will ever know. He put a muzzle brake, trigger, and bipod on my rifle while I waited, and he took me back in his shop and showed me how he did it! These guys are so cool, they'll offer you a beer and just shoot the $#!t with you while they fix your guns. They don't have an FFL yet, which is actually a plus, as they can't legally keep your gun, so they fix it while you wait. I had to take like 4 freeways to get there, but totally worth the drive from OC. A+. read more

Guys was very cool let me look around the shop at all there custom gun builds good customer service built my lower in less then 10 minutes drop my quad rail end and put my muzzle break on and everything quick was in and out within 30 minutes I would most def recommend them. Live in Carson and the only place was red file and here customer service sucks and there very rude. These guys are AWESOME. The Firing Pin on my XD-9 sub compact was not working so I called and they said, it could be a couple of different things and we really won't know until we get into it. I was very comfortable with the price and that they really knew what they were doing. So I brought my gun in and they went to work on it. I waited just to see if it was a quick job or not. Literally 5 minutes later, they said the firing pin was corroded and they were cleaning it all up and then oiling the gun to boot. i regret having to down these guys, because i think they're well-meaning and i want to support local gun businesses, but they couldn't take care of me by their own failure and didn't try to make it right. i have an old pump shotgun that doesn't extract reliably. i suspect the chamber is too tight. i went in on a monday before work and talked to sal the gunsmith. now, i trust sal because he did solid work on a pistol of mine when he was at ammo bros. he said he could ream out the chamber of my shotgun and lengthen the forcing cone at the same time, and that it would take about an hour. he had to do it while i waited because they have no FFL and california law screws gun owners by considering leaving a gun for work as a 'transfer.' i didn't have an hour, so he told me to come in at 11 the next day when the shop opened and he would do the job. so the next day, i was there. sal wasn't. i waited 40 minutes. they called him and got something about traffic. they were apologetic and took my number, and there was conversation about setting up a firmer appointment, but they never called me back. update 1/23: the owner contacted me after reading this and offered to do the work for free. but i had already found another gunsmith. read more

Just to make my story not too lengthy.. basically I installed a Zev fulcrum trigger ultimate trigger kit for my glock 17 gen 3. It was advertised as a straight drop in.. ya right. I had multiple failures o my gun.. couldn't shoot more the one bullet... most of the time.. one including my glock going full-Auto! ... not kidding lol! I tried everything I knew and not matter what it was failure after failure. At the range I got this places business card. Then I checked em' out on yelp.. looked good. Called them up and I got sal on the phone. From start he was not only professional but really likable on the phone. He Really knows his stuff. From the picture it looks like your ultimate man cave in there. I came in and was greeted by mark. They took me right on the spot. I got a fair quote. And handed my gun over to Sal and he began to work on it. Mark is super nice and knowledgeable. We had fun talking about all those pieces hanging on the walls. I watching sal work is pretty fun. I just met Sal and Mark of Gunsmith Kats last weekend. They serviced two antique guns of mine thoroughly and professionally, with passion and artistry. In fact, both of them were amazingly knowledgeable about basically any gun out there. I also appreciated the fact that they stuck by their fixed fee quoted, even though they spent a long time doing the job right, having to stay an extra hour past closing to complete the job. Took my glock here to get some sights put on it and it was very quick and easy. I talked to sal about putting on a Red dot onto my usp expert and asked how difficult it would be, he went over the one I'd have to get and said it would be a pretty quick job and estimated about an hours worth of work so I said sweet. I bought the red dot and brought my gun in the next week and was told to reach out in a few days. That was 3 weeks ago and today I called and they didn't answer the phone. This is incredibly frustrating. I understand that there will be some wait but I was told my gun was next to be worked on 2 weeks ago and that sal hasn't been coming into work and that's why it hasn't been done yet. I called around and everyone I called said that sal was amazing at what he does and that he's trying to get an ffl for his shop and that's probably why it's taking so long, but at some point you have to take a break and get some jobs done so your shop doesn't go out of business!! Long story short if you need small things done to your gun this place is perfect. Don't take it here if you need machining done or something else it just takes way too long. Wish them best of luck and hope my gun gets done soon. Will update the review with the aftermath if I get it back soon. Edit: after making this review the owner contacted me and offered to do the job for free. They returned my gun and it looks absolutely badass. These guys do great work. read more

I have 3 rifles that I took in to get a deep cleaning and to get looked over by an experienced gun Smith to ensure they are still safe to fire (Because of their old age). It took a little bit longer than I would have liked but they made it clear from the beginning that they had received an influx of firearms and it would take longer than usual. One of my rifles a m1903A3 had an issue with the bolt not operating smoothly, I got it back and its smoother than when I first purchased it. The staff was friendly and made the whole experience amazing. I will recommend this shop to a my co-workers looking to get work done on their firearms. I will definitely be coming back for any future problems/projects I may have. read more
